A woman explains why female orgasm requires both mental engagement and physical stimulation, unlike the male experience where the brain can supposedly shut off. She needs to be fully present, relaxed, and having fun for it to happen.

Nobody gives me an orgasm. I choose whether or not I'm going to have one, and I suspect I'm like most women in that my brain has to be fully engaged with what's happening. It has to be reacting to the pleasure. It has to be acknowledging that, yeah, this feels really good, and then providing the parts are being, you know, stimulated in the constant way that they do need to be stimulated, then it all happens. Unlike men who have told me that it's best their brain is turned off and whatever is going on down there, as long as what's going on down there feels good, then it's all gonna happen. So men don't give me an orgasm. I choose to have an orgasm because my brain is telling me that I'm relaxed, I'm having fun, it's all feeling good, and then it happens. If one of those things isn't working, then pretty much nothing goes on.
