What are the benefits of a long-distance relationship when it comes to your sex life? For me, living with someone is the kiss of death when it comes to wanting to have sex because as soon as domesticity creeps into the picture, I get really turned off. And yeah, I prefer having that distance so that I can overlook some of the things that I may find less than attractive in the person that I'm with and just concentrate on the fun stuff. And that's the benefit when you're older, you're no longer procreating and you don't need to worry anymore about living together for the sake of bringing up children and all that sort of stuff. Sure, of course, if you've got some health and mobility issues, It may be a better idea to live with someone because then you've got somebody to look after you, but providing that you're both healthy and you're still able to get around, then for me, living in separate places— and it's a financial thing as well if you can do it— is the ideal for me. And I think it's the ideal for a lot of older women who don't want the responsibility anymore of doing the washing up and the cleaning and all that sort of stuff for somebody else. Especially if, like me, you're very tidy and you get a little bit antsy being around somebody who's not so tidy. So for me, I don't have to worry about whether or not my other half is tidy or not if I'm not living with them. We can just spend time together enjoying ourselves, having fun, doing all the stuff that we love to do without all the crap seeping into the relationship and making it, um, yeah, challenging.
