Suzanne Noble explains that older women's libido hasn't vanished, just shifted from spontaneous desire triggered by sight to responsive desire that builds during intimacy. The fix isn't giving up sex but finding a partner who creates experiences that spark that responsive desire.

I hear lots of older women say that they've lost their libido, and I know that it's really common to think that you've lost your libido, but actually many times what you've lost is what's called spontaneous desire. It's what we are familiar with when we're younger, which is we see someone, we think they're really hot, and we start getting all juiced up and excited and horny. That feeling goes and instead, as an older woman, is replaced by what's called responsive desire, which means, yes, we still get horny, but usually when the intimacy is actually taking place. So, get us in bed, get naked, do stuff to us that we really enjoy, and all the taps get turned on again and we realize that, "Oh yeah, this feels good. I really wanna have sex with you. I am actually really horny." But it's different than that spontaneous desire that you may have been familiar with when you're young. Instead, we have responsive desire. So don't give up on sex. Just find somebody sexy that you can get intimate with.
