22. Right Where You Are At!
23 Jun 2022 · 36 min
Tessa Romero (host/coach) delivers a personal, coaching-style podcast episode about "meeting yourself right where you're at." Using her experience as a mother of an early-rising child, she contrasts her past resentful morning reactions with her current approach—small, obtainable practices (two-word I-am statements; a 10-minute get-ready routine; gentle pacing through seasons of life). She emphasizes control over thoughts/identity (what you think, say, do), the difference between positive vs. fixed/defeatist mindsets, and the value of alignment journaling (four-lesson self-guided course) to rehearse supportive beliefs. The episode mixes storytelling, concrete micro-practices, and a promotional CTA for the journaling course.

Hello, my beautiful friend, and welcome to the Mind Body Alignment podcast. I'm your host, Tessa Romero, and also your coach. I'm here to teach you powerful skills and tools to not only know who you are, but how to become exactly who you want to be with a mindset that finally supports you. I'm so grateful that you're here. Let's get started. Oh, my friends, I know hard time believing that I am already 34 weeks pregnant, but you know what? Here we are. And I'm so excited that I can still be pouring content into you. And I wanted to reassure you that even though I'm not doing any more group coaching for the remainder of this year, 2022, depending on when you're listening to this, I will still be making content for you on the podcast, on my social media platforms, in my email list. I want to be pouring into you and during the postpartum period, well, there's a lot of mindset work to be done and shared there, and I know it's going to serve you so much, and I'm really looking forward to having the opportunity to do that with you. So now that we've started the episode that way, I want to dive into this week's talk topic. And this week we are talking about meeting yourself right where you're at. And I felt so inspired to talk about this with you when I went on a walk this morning with my son. He's four. His name's Liam, and he has been my early riser for forever. His whole life, he has been an early riser. And I used to quite honestly hate that a lot. And I think, like, it just plays into this week, this week's podcast episode so perfectly that I'm like, let's talk about that. But this week's episode, we're talking about meeting yourself right where you're at now. Four years ago, when my son was a newborn and not sleeping through the night, waking up, I mean, so many dang times, and then trying to start the literal day between 4 and 5am, I was not at a place to just pop him in the stroller, feel really good in the morning and go for a walk together, enjoying each other's company or just like the morning in general, I wasn't in that place either. And this is just four short years ago. And maybe you're thinking like, oh my gosh, four years is such a long time. It's really not. It's really not. And the time's gonna pass anyway, so really, what do you've got? But Time. You have the time, right? We're gonna do this together. All the mindset stuff coming out, but with this idea of meeting yourself right where you're at. If I look at where I was four years ago, I did not have the same emotional, mental, and physical capacity that I do today, because I've been growing, I've been healing, I've been discovering who I really am, pouring into things that really inspire me and learning more about the mother that I want to be with. Whereas in the very beginning of motherhood, that's just not where I was. I didn't even know that I needed to do all of this. And that might be a position that you're in right now. So as you are talking to a girlfriend, scrolling social media, talking to your husband or your sister, or reading a parenting book, learning about different skills and tools to be applying as a mom or whatever it is that you're doing to try to grow yourself, remember where you're at. Okay. Four years ago, I was at the newborn stage with just completely unexpected, just unknown territory. I'm trying to even find the words of that transition from going from zero kids to one. I don't feel like any transition could possibly top that. So I literally have zero fears or concerns about the transition from two to three kids, because I'm like, there's no freaking way that it will rock my world quite as much as my introduction to motherhood was. And if I can overcome that, I've freaking got this. I mean, I could have 12 kids and the transition couldn't possibly be, like, the first. I'm just kidding. But really, that was a lot. Anyway. Okay. Yep. I kind of talked in a circle. Let's come back. Let's come back. Let's try again. Going. Meeting yourself right where you're at. Right where you're at. So if I were to have said, you know, where I was at four years ago and then told myself four years ago, we'll just put him in the stroller and enjoy your morning and get over it. Like, you just need to have a positive mindset about all this. Yeah, I don't think I would be friends with me. I don't think I would want my company around. Like, if. If now me could meet four years ago me, I really don't think they'd be friends. And that's saying a lot, guys, because I've. I mean, I think I'm great company today, but it would make sense, right? Because me four years now talking to four years ago me would not be meeting four Years ago, Me, right where she's at, meeting her where she's at does not look like. Put them in the stroller. Have a great morning. Take advantage of the opportunity to get the day started. That's not where I was at. And maybe that's what you're going through right now, where you're just looking at the parenting resources provided to you and what to do, what not to do, the things to try, the suggestions constantly being tossed at you. Maybe all of that is just not applying to where you're at right now. It doesn't mean it's bad. It's not bad to have a positive mindset about my kids waking up at whatever freaking time they choose to wake up, basically just because I've decided I don't freaking control it. Turns out it only took me a few years to learn, but I don't control it. I have influence. Yes, I do, and it's powerful, for sure. But they have control over themselves, right? Not me. But when you are feeling frustrated, maybe with your mindset, your routine, you want to pick up a new habit, you want to change a behavior, a way that you're talking to your kids, maybe you've been yelling or you've been snapping at your husband, whatever it is, you can't just skip where you're at and jump to where you want to be and, like, just kind of, I don't know, overlook the whole middle part of the leap. That's not gonna work. But what would work is meeting yourself right where you're at, seeing where you want to go, and saying, I can get there. I can walk there one step at a time, and I'll walk there. And maybe sometimes in some seasons of life, it feels like you are just sprinting. And, you know, the pace feels great, the rhythm's going well, and all things are flowing and you're loving it. And then other times, in seasons of life, it is like a literal. I am going to stand up off of this couch, and I'm going to just put one foot forward. Just one. Just one step at a time. That's what I'm going to do. So if you're sprinting, if you're walking, if you're stumbling, crawling, whatever the motion is, that's what you need to do. You have to meet yourself right where you're at. And forward is forward. Okay, Forward is forward. So it's not bad if you're not sprinting in every season with this perfect flow and harmony, and everything's going so well, because, my friend, there are Just so many circumstances outside of your control, like what time your freaking kids wake up and the unexpected things that happen and the things that you just really didn't want to happen, right? Or incredible opportunities being presented to you that still require your learning and growth and adjustments and flexibilities, okay? So regardless if it's like a positive thing or negative thing happening, you don't control of your circumstances. You only control what you think, say and do. That's it. So when you're trying to to meet yourself right where you're at, don't envision who you want to be and say, but I should just be her. Why can't I just snap my fingers and be her and change and live that way. Talk to my spouse this way, not yell at my kids, change careers, accomplish the goal already, like, whatever it is, there's going to be a lot of steps in between. And that's okay, because as long as you know that you're willing to walk, you're willing to find a pace that works for you in any season that you go through, no matter the circumstances, you'll just keep showing up. As long as you know that about yourself, you have nothing to worry about, nothing to fear you're going to do it. And that's part of that growth positive mindset rather than the limited fear fixed mindset. That's saying, I can't handle this, I can't do this. Oh, I'll never be able to become her. What? Who am I kidding? She would be completely unobtainable for me. Like, you won't even let yourself envision who you want to be because of this negative mindset, limiting beliefs, keeping you from even imagining it. And that's not fair to you either. So I wanted to make this episode all about meeting yourself right where you're at. First, four years ago, when I had my sweet newborn and he just had his fourth birthday, so I am like, ugh, just taking him in. I can't believe he's four. And now I'm learning. I'm seeing just how fast all of the time goes. And I know, you know, everyone says that it goes by so fast. And that's not what I'm emphasizing here. I just. I want this for you. I want you to be able to just stay present, live in the moment, enjoy motherhood the way that it's meant to be enjoyed, and let it challenge you, expand you, stretch you, and build you into who that you, into the version of you that you're meant to be, that you want to be. And you are the only one that gets to decide who that is. So four years ago, me was not who I am today. I needed to go through the last four years to become who I am today. I've, you know, I went through the circumstances, I went through the difficulties. I controlled my mindset to the best of my ability and learned all that I needed to to become who I want to be. And now we're four years later, and I'm not done. And I'm never gonna be done because there's no finish line. You're always growing. And we want that. We want that. We don't wanna be done. We wanna keep growing. We wanna keep taking those steps, no matter the pace. Sometimes it feels like we're sprinting and the rhythm's great and we never miss a step. We never stumble or trip. And other times, it feels like we are trying to stand up off of the couch and take one step. And that's okay too. So four years ago, me, I wasn't ready to pop my kid in the stroller and make the most of my morning. I was not ready to make the most of my morning at all. In fact, I didn't. I didn't, four years ago, me, before I took any type of ownership over myself, who I am, my mindset, what my actions are. Remember those three things that we control, what you think, say and do. I was not taking ownership over those. And I had to learn that lesson. I had to learn that lesson because I don't wanna blame whatever time my child wakes up. I don't wanna blame my attitude on that. I don't wanna blame my actions on regardless of what time he wakes up as if he controls me and I am the victim. I don't wanna be the victim of my child just simply waking up, ready to start the day. Was that my mentality then? No, I had to learn that. I had to learn that I was even playing the victim to my early rising beautiful boy that has this beautiful harmony with the world and the sun. And he just operates on his own internal clock. And now I have so much appreciation for it because I'm like, gosh, I mean, all this mindset work, right? Year, over the course of years going through this, um, and this may not be where you're at right now, but I really do have so much appreciation for who he is and how his little body just runs on this clock. And, you know, he never wakes up in the morning upset. He doesn't wake up at 5. I mean, sometimes he still wakes up at 5. And he doesn't wake up at 5 or 5:30 now as a 4 year old and say, oh, I didn't get enough sleep last night. When, or I can't believe that it's already the morning and today is going to be such a bad day because I woke up early. He didn't say any of that ever, not once in his entire life that he could communicate to me. And I promise you he freaking wasn't thinking that when he was a baby because he was joyful waking up. And even when he woke up upset, like crying for me in the morning, as soon as I got in that room, it's like, oh, all is well. And what I love about kids is they don't have this attachment to time either. So Even as my 4 year old, he's not looking at the clock saying, oh, it's only, it's only five in the morning, I can't get up. He doesn't do that. He just evaluates. How do I feel? Do I need to lay here and stretch for a second? I mean, gosh, if I could know what my 4 year old's first thoughts are when he wakes up, I, I want to know. I want to know so bad. For him to just pop his eyes open and tell me exactly what he's thinking, to just, this is what he does. He just pops out of bed. He pops out of bed. No, just nothing stopping him. No negative thoughts coming forward saying, I can't take on the day because it's too early and everything that I just mentioned, his mind is not doing that and it's so beautiful to watch. Now again, this may not be where you're at and if it's not where you're at, don't make yourself take on this perspective that you're not ready to have. Just stay open to the possibility of it growing into this one day. I just want to share because it's helped me so much. But observe your kids in the morning. Observe them. My 4 year old, every morning he wakes up, he is up, I mean, pops out of bed ready to take on the day. And I'm like, yes, yes to that energy, sir. And my four year old will not stay in his pajamas. He will not. He gets ready as soon as he wakes up. That's the first thing he does every single morning. He goes pee and gets dressed every single morning like it's what he wants to do. And there's no thoughts saying, don't do that. Oh, it's gonna take so long. I don't feel like getting dressed. I feel like this podcast episode is turning into so many brilliant things. Like our kids mindset on top of the original topic of meeting yourself right where you're at. But apparently this is what we needed today. So when you wake up in the morning, what's your mindset? How long do you talk yourself out of getting ready? And it's too much work and I just won't do it today. And I don't have the energy to do that. And I'm way too tired. I am exhausted. Like, you're over identifying with these emotions that you are never meant to identify with in the first place. You're just meant to feel them because they're not who you are. And you're basing your entire mindset off of that. And then your actions are following. Whereas your kids are doing the exact opposite. Opposite. The exact opposite. They know they're not the way they feel. They don't give themselves the opportunity to have a negative thought about the time they woke up because they're not attaching to the time. They just know, I don't want to be in my pajamas. I'm going to go get dressed. Like, just, boom, problem solved. Let me go do that now. It's brilliant. It's absolutely amazing. I mean, just so beautiful to watch. And I want to encourage you to do so. But let's go back to the topic. Four years ago, me, when my son would wake up early in the morning, my first thoughts were so negative. Every single morning. Every single morning, of course he's waking up early. And I would honestly try to go to sleep. Very optimistic every night. Like, tonight's the night. Tonight's the night that he's gonna sleep to the night. I feel like I did that the whole first year of his life. Very optimistic. And I would say it out loud to my husband, everything. And I truly believed it. And it just did not happen. But anyway, we sought out sleep resources and we did what we could to help us with that. And Liam is his own person and we just applied it the way that we could. And I'm really proud of that. And I don't want you to ever mistake mindset with feeling stuck. Like, oh, it is what it is, and there's nothing I can do. That's not a positive mindset. That would be a negative mindset. A positive mindset is, this is what's happening, and there's always something I can do about it. What do I want to do? What can I explore? What haven't I tried yet? I believe in myself and my ability to show up and handle this. That is a positive mindset in the face of any circumstance. But four years ago, me, my son would wake up and my thoughts were so negative about what time he woke up that I would go into his room every morning feeling so resentful. Now, I don't know about you, but that is not who I want to be as a mother. There is absolutely no freaking reason valid enough that I would greet my child with so much resentment every single morning as they're just calling for me. But I did it. I did that for a long time. I just. I didn't even see what I was doing. I was just playing into it, falling into it. That I was the victim of what time my child wakes up and I have to go into his room like this because I feel exhausted, Exhausted. I feel so angry that he's awake. He should sleep longer. I was arguing with reality so intensely. Like the boxing gloves were on when it came to me and the reality of the situation, I was like, oh, no, I'm going to beat you down with my negative thoughts until it changes. And it didn't change. My negative thoughts did not change the circumstances. They just made it harder. They made the early mornings harder. Think about that. How often in your life are you making your circumstances harder because of what you think the circumstance is what it is. What time your kids wake up, what time they go to sleep, what time your husband gets home if he's running late? The circumstances are what they are. And if you controlled them, you wouldn't let that happen, now, would you? So that's just proof in itself that you don't control the circumstances. Yes, you have influence, but not control. You do control what you think about them. So I don't want to be the mother that goes into my child's room every morning feeling so resentful and starting my day with that energy with him every day, I don't want to do that. And then it would just domino from there. I promise you, I did not get dressed until 11am every day. I didn't get dressed, get myself ready until 11. And all of my productivity for the day, it was basically just like bare minimum, bare minimum. All because I believe my mindset about it. The way that I was starting my day, the thoughts that I believe to be true when the reality is thoughts are not facts. And I had the freedom to change those at any given time, but nobody was talking about that at the time. And again, this is something that I learned on my own. And I Love to share with you because I freaking love you guys. So this is. That's the way the morning would go. I would just feel all resentful and angry, get Liam out of the crib, make him a breakfast because I have to feed him and blah, blah, blah, and stay my pajamas till 11, laying on my living room floor trying not to fall asleep. All right. Yeah. I don't know about you, but it kind of, to me now, doesn't matter how much sleep I get, if I stay in my pajamas and lay back down on the floor, I think I could fall back asleep. Like, I think I could do that. So changing this was so crucial. Just looking at, okay, Tess, this isn't working. What do you control? Because let's put down the boxing gloves. Stop fighting reality until it changes, because that's not the way it works. Liam's gonna sleep the night when he sleeps the night. Liam's gonna sleep longer when he sleeps longer. These are the intentional things that I'm doing right, because there's always something we can do. These are the intentional things that I'm doing that I feel good about and I want to keep doing. And this. This mindset over here is how I'm going to start helping myself. That's the first thing I'm going to start looking at. So I promise you, this is. This is the first thing I did every single morning. Liam would wake up. I would not set an alarm. Liam would wake up, 4:35am Whatever it was, and I would open my eyes, and as soon as a negative thought wanted to creep in, which it did, it did right, because it's conditioned. It was comfortable. I would tell myself, I am intentional and I am productive. That was my first I am statement. I am intentional, and I am productive. And you guys know how much I love identity. Like, you know, all of everything that I do is based on identity. And that was the first thing I would tell myself every morning is I am intentional and I am productive. And I gave myself 10 minutes. I decided for me, as a mother, that felt best. I would rather Liam wait for me for 10 minutes while I was getting up, brushing my teeth, did my mascara, brushed my hair the way that I like it, or put it up however I wanted to do it that day. And I got dressed, I gave myself 10 minutes, nothing crazy. I felt very comfortable with that as a mother, and it's okay if you don't, but that's what I wanted to do. And the craziest thing happened the first morning Liam cried for me. Mom. Mom. Like the whole 10 minutes. The second morning Liam talked, he didn't cry for me, he didn't scream for me. He talked. So Liam, Liam changed a little bit just by me deciding I'm doing this for me. That was not in my control and it honestly wasn't even my intention. My intention was to show up better because I knew I am not walking into the room the way that my child deserves for me to greet them in the morning. And I am no longer entertaining that I'm not okay with it. I called myself out. I took the total ownership. Yes, he wakes up at 5, but guess what? I'm the one walking in the room with the crappy attitude and I'm done. So I gave myself 10 minutes. But the first thought of the morning, I took control of that. I'm intentional and I am productive. I'm getting up and taking care of myself. I deserve. I deserve this 10 minutes. Liam will be okay. I love him so much. I'm doing this for him because I want to go in there and greet him with excitement. And that's what I started doing. I started going in there and greeting him with so much excitement because I felt like my needs are finally being met in 10 minutes. I didn't need two weeks away. I just needed to meet myself right where I was at. That's what I'm encouraging you to do in this, in this whole episode. I mean, all of the gold that we've talked about so far, I'm like loving this frickin episode. But all of the gold is coming back to meeting yourself right where you're at. Right where you're at. And if that looks like just waking up and first thing saying a two word I am statement, I am intentional, and I am productive. Deciding on two things that you are and seeing what happens next. Not an hour workout before your kids wake up. Okay, Yeah, I was not about to set an alarm. That's not where I was at. But if I were to tell myself, well, you need to wake up for him and you need to have this whole morning routine. How many times have you heard that as a mother you need to be up before your kids have a morning routine. I'm not gonna lie, guys. Now I do. Now I do wake up before my kids. I do journal for 30 minutes before they wake up. And it feels so good. And if they wake up in that 30 minutes, I don't stop. I welcome them to join me. Why? Because I have let go of the idea of controlling what time my kids wake up. About three Years ago. And I have no desire to start trying to control it again. I feel really freaking good at peace with whatever time they wake up now. My point is, like, where I'm at today is not where I'm at four years ago. So looking at what I'm doing today, well, yeah, that would have sounded great four years ago. Wake up before your kids, journal for 30 minutes, do a workout or a stretch, and have a little bit of time to talk to your husband. And you know, I do all these things that I do now in the mornings. No, that's not where I was at four years ago. Four years ago, I needed a simple I am statement. I am intentional, and I'm productive. I needed a 10 minute commitment. 10 minutes just to do my mascara, brush my teeth, get dressed, brush my hair the way that I like it before walking into his room. Ten minutes. That's what I needed. And then the rest was so much easier to fall into place, to keep showing up intentionally. Like, well, who am I? Who am I? I am intentionally unproductive. So what should I do now? Well, the laundry needs to be done. Let me do the laundry. And I just started thriving in my mornings and talking to my husband about, yeah, Liam woke up still a little bit early. But, you know, I got up and I got ready and we've had such a fun morning. And we've already been on a walk this morning. We've gotten so much done. Like, my entire energy changed. My entire morning routine changed. Liam's time of the morning that he woke up did not change. Did not change. I mean, eventually, after Luke was born, I think he started sleeping closer to seven. My kids are two years apart, so can you imagine if I were still arguing at this? Guys, this morning, Liam Woke up at 5:30. 5. 5:35. What am I gonna do? Be angry at him every single morning that he wakes up? Could you imagine waking up in the morning? I mean, seriously, swap space, swap spots for a second, really challenge your perspective. Could you imagine how it would feel to wake up every morning knowing someone's mad at me just because the time I woke up? Is that fair? Is that who we want to be? I mean, it was what I was doing, guys. So wherever you're at, I am not shaming in any way. I am empowering you to see how powerful this is. Because I know for a fact that if you and I Woke up at 5am and our husband rolled over and had some snarky remark or rolled his eyes or huffed and puffed around us, we would get that maybe our kids don't get it right because they're just so freaking innocent and so beautiful and so pure. But I think one day they will. And I don't want us to have that type of weight on us. I want you to start enjoying motherhood now because you deserve it. That's why you think your kids deserve this wonderful mother. Well, guess what? You deserve to be that mother. You deserve to be the mother that you want your kids to have. You deserve that. And by default, it benefits them. But if you don't start meeting yourself right where you're at, you are not going to become who you want to be, because you are going to look at who you want to be and shame yourself for not being her. Instead of just saying, I'm doing the best I can right now. The first thing I can do is a simple I am statement. I can do that. I can commit to that. Wow. I've been doing it and I've been feeling better. And I need 10 minutes to get myself ready before I get my child out of bed. That's what I'm gonna commit to every morning. Not the laundry and mopping and walks and workouts and all of the things that were just not there yet. They can come. There's always room for growth. I told you, we don't wanna be done growing. We don't wanna be done getting better. Let this be a lifelong journey. But right now, you have to meet yourself right where you're at. Even for me, 34 weeks pregnant today, working out every day is not where I'm at. Can I do it? Yeah. I'm sure I could get myself to do that. I do. I do feel like I could get myself to do that. But why? Why force myself to do something that I just feel resentful towards? And then I build up negativity and resentment towards working out instead of just evaluating. You know, I did my morning journaling and I feel really good mentally. I'm in a great headspace. My body's just not really feeling it right now. Let me stretch instead. I know I'll go for a walk today. I know I will be just fine. Or I can work out later in the afternoon if I'm feeling up to it. You can meet yourself with compassion. You don't have to bully yourself into doing things that you honestly just don't want to do. Now there's a. You know, sometimes the workout is a need because it helps totally with our mental wellness. And I'm not saying don't do those things, but I don't want to force myself into doing things that I do want to do and I do feel proud of by building resentment towards it because then I'm not going to enjoy it at any point and that's not going to feel good either. So the point of all of this is to meet yourself right where you're at. Where are you? Are you where I was four years ago with a newborn early riser, Feeling angry every time that you walk in the room and you just need something little, something obtainable. That's what all this is, is the obtainability of it. Whatever you decide on, whatever you commit to, is it obtainable. And in my alignment journaling course, that might be the best place for you to start because it is obtainable. It is 1,000% obtainable for you to write out one sentence. You could start with one sentence a day, swapping one thought, creating one new prediction, one new positive experience, writing out one I am statement like, what if you committed to that? I truly believe that we could all meet ourselves right there. And when we do that, when you're able to mentally rehearse a positive outcome, a positive experience of who you are and what you do and how you show up, you will start changing your actions. So instead of forcing yourself to stick to some 15 week workout thing of an hour a day and macros and every day I have to do X, Y, Z. Like instead of all these things that just may not be where you're at right now, what if you just met yourself right where you're at? And yeah, I am shamelessly dropping alignment journaling in here because I have gotten so many incredible reviews from women just after they went through the first lesson. And there's four lessons. There's four lessons to help you build this journaling practice. And you have complete freedom in this course to decide what you want to focus on, because I'm not going to prompt you and tell you what to write. I want you to learn how to use your own thoughts, your own circumstances, your own feelings that are very real and relevant in your life and use those as your journaling prompts. I don't know what's going on in your life, but I do know. I do know that you can support yourself through it. I do know that there is a greater version inside of you that you know is there and you cannot deny it. But she just needs some encouragement. She needs to be rehearsed on how to show up and what to do. And that's what alignment journaling is. It's giving you this opportunity to open up a new mindset that actually supports you and aligns with who you want to be. Rather than mentally rehearsing the same negative way that you show up for your kids when they wake up early. Like I was doing four years ago when Liam would wake up early. I would mentally rehearse how awful the entire day was going to be and how exhausted I was going to feel even four hours later. How the frick did I know? I didn't know. I'm not a fortune teller. I can't predict the future. I'm going to say that right now about myself. I don't have those abilities. And maybe you need to reality check yourself too, that you cannot predict the future. Right. You don't know for a fact what's going to happen. You can guess, you can make predictions, sure. But you're not, you're not controlling the future. I promise you that. You're just controlling what you think, say and do in this moment. That's it. So when you use alignment journaling, you're able to put new positive predictions in your mind instead of just repeating the same negative mindset that has not started served you for a long, long time. Okay, so shamelessly dropping it again because I'm obsessed with it. Other women are obsessed with it. I want you to experience the relief as well. And I'm not doing any more group coaching or mind body alignment 12 week courses until the new year. So I wanted to have this course available to you for everyone that wants to work on their mindsets. Not sure where to start. And my next group coaching doesn't start till New Year's of 2023. So I'm like, I can make a journaling course. It can be self guided. There's an hour of coaching inside of it through the video modules applied provided to you. There's 38 pages of PDF downloadable material that you get to keep for life. And it is going to give you such clarity and direction on how to use journaling as an incredible practice that builds a mindset that supports you and reaffirms your identity. And lastly, a powerful part about journaling is it makes your mind, it forces your mind to slow down because pen to paper only goes so fast. Right? Isn't that amazing? You just put frickin pen to paper and your mind is forced to slow down. It's such a gift. But more than that, you're able to put pen to paper and hold your thoughts captive, hold your thoughts captive and no longer just decide, oh this is what my brain's thinking, so it must be true. No, thoughts aren't facts. The frick if what your mind is telling you is not serving you, now you get to hold those thoughts captive and rework them so that they start serving you rather than feeling like this victim of your own thoughts because you believe all of them to be true and they're holding you captive. Your thoughts do not have permission to hold you captive unless you give them that power. But you don't have to. And I'll teach you how to stop. So let's do it together. Get the Alignment Journaling course. The link is provided below. I'm really excited to be working with you and talking with you through it. I poured my whole freaking heart into that course and it is doing exactly what I hoped it would do for women all over the world. And I want it for you too. And if you've had a positive experience with alignment journaling, please share it with me. You can email me infoodibymommy.com send me a message on Instagram. Just reach out to me and let me know because I want to hear all about it. Or if you're feeling stuck in the course, like how do I apply it to this specific circumstance? Or feeling this way, or I don't know how to do it with this, just let me know. I am here for you. We're talking about my favorite things. I want to pour into you because I know, I know. I believe with every ounce of me that it will work for you too. So as always, I hope this week's episode served you and you're able to start looking at the meeting yourself right where you're at. Instead of shaming and bullying yourself that you're not where you want to be. Be comfortable with a slow pace in some seasons of life, right where we're just trying to get up off the couch and take one messy step forward. And other seasons of life where it feels like we're sprinting and we feel so good and we found a rhythm and things are going great either way. All you need is a mindset that says I can do this. This is something I can handle. I just have to put one foot in front of the other. I'm never stuck. That's all you need and I'm here to help you do that. So I love you tremendously. You're doing an incredible job. And as always, I'll see you next week. Thank you for joining me on this week's episode. If you enjoyed the podcast, don't forget to subscribe and share it. I love spreading the message of how positivity can come in so beautifully to help you through your journey of self discovery and healing. I'm cheering for you. I believe in you and I'll talk to you really soon.
