And welcome back, you nasties. I've had a lot of comments from many different people asking about different types of stretches for different parts of the body, and the number one part of the body that I get questions about are the hips. So if you're looking for a little more mobility in the hips so that you can increase pleasure and decrease discomfort while you're engaging in couples yoga with your partner, I would highly suggest that you try these three stretches to begin. From your knees, you're going to take one leg, lift up, and plant that foot. You want to make sure that your ankle is actually a little bit further out than your knee, because from here you're going to slowly lunge forward. You're going to feel this in your lower hip flexor. You can keep it upright, or if this is too intense, you can also bring your hands down to the ground. If you need to intensify it a little bit more, you can reach your hands up toward the ceiling and see if you're able to keep your balance. From your low lunge, you're going to bring your hands down on the inside of your front foot, and you're going to let your front knee fall open and down toward the floor. If you feel a stretch here, that's great. If you need a deeper stretch, you can bring one or both forearms down to the ground. The third hip stretch, and my absolute favorite, is I'm going to take one leg, making sure that my shin is straight across. I don't want my foot to be too far out or too close into my pelvis. I'm going to take my other leg and place my other foot on top of the bottom knee. If your top knee is up really high like this, that's totally normal and it's fine. As long as you're feeling a stretch, you're doing a good job. And as you start to get more and more comfortable, you can start to bring your chest forward and even down toward the ground. Just make sure that you're breathing through it and that you're taking breaks if needed. Even just 5 minutes a day makes a huge difference here. So if If you're able to stretch just 5 minutes a day incorporating these 3 stretches, you're gonna notice a big difference in the mobility of your hips. Until next time, mwah! Stay spicy!
