I'm going to tell you exactly what you need to do in order to have better yoga time with your yoga partner. And before we get into it, no, I'm not really talking about yoga. First, I want to state that communication is always key, okay? It's a phrase for a reason. But oftentimes we don't bring up the important topics until we're really struggling. This includes talking about our desires with our yoga partner. I get it, it can be really vulnerable to bring up the things that you want from your partner, and sometimes you also worry that maybe they might take it as a criticism against themselves. But at the end of the day, it's incredibly important that we bring these things to the table, especially when we're engaging in Yoga time. So next time you get an opportunity, you're going to say this sentence to your yoga partner: something I'd really love right now is fill in the blank. You can also start this conversation by saying, hey, there's something that I'd really like to try, are you open to it? And that's it. All right, there's not going to be any criticism, there's not going to be any you never do this or you always do that. All you're bringing to the table in this exact moment is exactly what you want. Opening up to our yoga partner is inherently vulnerable, and that can be scary. But this sentence is something that I really want you to practice in order to build that intimacy with your yoga partner. As someone who teaches yoga positions online, it is not about the yoga positions. Those are fun, but in order to really tap into the fun of those things, it's important to be communicating what you want from your partner. And if you want a better connection with your yoga partner, lead with what you want, not with your complaints. And that doesn't mean don't bring up your complaints at all, but we'll talk about that another time. Stay spicy, you guys.
