You’ve Been Riding All Wrong!!

Most people doing cowgirl put weight on their knees and bounce, which strains the joints. Instead, shift to flat feet on the floor and lean into your partner's chest. Practice flat-footed squats to build the strength.

For part 3 of Get On Top, we're gonna be going over this comment because it just so happens to be my number 1 tip as well for the position we're going over today, which is cowgirl. So when we're in cowgirl, uh, most people who are on top tend to straddle their partner and keep their weight on their knees like so, bouncing or leaning forward and bouncing. We're going to avoid this. What we want to do is lift our legs and shift our weight onto our feet. We want to maintain a flat-footed position. Do not come up onto your toes, it can hurt your ankles and your knees. We're going to maintain a flat-footed position and and we're going to lean our weight onto our partner's chest or even come down. Okay, don't worry, they're not going to see your hunchback and they're not concerned about how much weight you're putting on them. So once you've shifted your weight forward, you're going to pump while maintaining that flat-footed position. If you struggle to keep a flat-footed position, that's okay. Sometimes it takes time to develop this. Work on squatting with flat feet in your living room on your off time.
