I hope you truly enjoy all the lessons I share, all the dots I connect that sometimes are just really difficult to get out but it's all for you. I truly hope you enjoy this episode. Welcome to the Soul of Innovation podcast. I'm Thomas Anglero, and what I want to talk about with you is about certainty, or more difficult discussion, your uncertainty. Everyone is so uncertain today. I think uncertainty is the root of most personal, private mental challenges that we all have. When we're alone and nobody else can, of course, get inside our head— so I guess when we're in public as well, nobody can get inside your head— that thing that's bothering the most, the root of it, the base, the foundation of it, is uncertainty. You're uncertain about yourself. You're uncertain about your job. You're uncertain about your income. You're uncertain about your position. You're uncertain about what people just thought about your presentation that you gave a moment ago. You're uncertain because you didn't talk during that last meeting that you just came from. You're uncertain about your weight. It's, it's all there, right? Keep on going with examples. Uncertainty is it. And the other thing is We got to fix this. So I want to give some examples and then we play with the story, right? So what I see now today is that when I'm amongst the younger people— I guess I class myself as old, sorry— but when I'm with the millennials, Generation Z, all these 20-year-old people, 30-year-old people, right, they're uncertain too, but they have this insane amount of confidence, the same confidence that if you're not 20 or 30, a little bit older than that, you once had when you were 20 30. We called it ignorance, right? But being 20 or 30, you have a bit of confidence, but they also have massive uncertainty. But they have confidence that they are going to solve this world's problems. They have confidence that they're going to do something that they love. And that's different than where we come from. Where we come from, we were told to do something, we just went and did it. We didn't— they wouldn't question the person who told us. If they were our boss, we just had to do it. Today The 20 and 30-year-olds actually say, no, I have a choice. That's the byproduct of how many decades has there been now that the market has gone up, up, up, up. We had a little blip in 2008. If you were in a part of the— but it wasn't a little blip, it was a big part of your life. But things came right back up roaring again. And all over the world, the numbers are great. Whether or not the numbers are faked, it's a totally different discussion. But things have been going so well for so long. Matter of fact, on YouTube, I saw the other day that this young couple, they're both about 35 years old, they both retired, they're from the United States, they both now have retired at 35 because they made so much money in the stock market investing in normal index funds. It wasn't like they got lucky in buying Google on the day it IPO'd. They literally just bought index funds over the last, uh, 10, 15 years since they started working, and it's just the market's just gone up. And over normal index funds, low interest rate index funds, they They now have so many millions that they moved to Portugal. So we're here, we are today in a time with this massive uncertainty. We have young people who are living through nothing but the most prosperous time there is, and we have older people who are saying, what the hell's going on? Here comes technology, here comes everything. There's so much massive uncertainty. This is the root. This is what's going on. As I think about this and I bash my head. So this is what I want you to do. You're going to need to spend some time with yourself and find out where you're at. Where do you want to go? What do you see when you close your eyes? And then commit yourself completely to that. I think— not I think, I know, I know that in times of massive uncertainty The people who are the most confident win, and they win big. Think about it. When you're in a room of people at a party, an event, a conference, something like that, who's the person that stands out the most? The person is the most confident. Who's the person that you go to when you're totally down and out You're upset, you just broke up with your boyfriend, your girlfriend, or whatever. You go to somebody who give you confidence. In this period that we're in now, and we're approaching where everything is about to go to hell, uh, I don't know when you're listening to this, but right now we're in the middle of Brexit hell in the UK. I'm not in the UK. We have riots in, you name the region and part of the world, there are riots in the streets. The normal people are done, they've had it, and we're only warming up, right? Western civilization, the riots in France, the Yellow Vests, I mean, this is exploding everywhere, and this is gonna continue, not just continue, but grow. The amount of uncertainty is beginning to become normal. We're all gonna be uncertain. And the way you're gonna succeed, the way you're gonna succeed is that you are gonna be confident. You're gonna spend some time with yourself and say, What is it that's my core? What is it that I love? What is it that drives me? And you walk around with that and you emit that energy, you emit that confidence. That is who you are. That is your flag in the ground. And even though, even though, let me, I call it out, even though let's say your confidence, the thing that you most love is playing the damn piano, because you're confident, you will be the magnet. You will be the ultimate piano player. The people will request for you to come play piano and do events. You will succeed. During these tumultuous times that we have coming up, that there's so much massive uncertainty. People want to have this beautiful pianist who's standing, sitting there, who's confident playing and making them forget about all the crap that's going on, all the riots in the street, all the fires and pillaging of stores. You are the answer. You are the answer. This is not bull. This is historical facts. During every down period, there are people who succeed, and the people who succeeded were the ones who were confident. I think Warren Buffett was famous in saying that, um, when people are in fear, that's when it's the time to buy. That is the same thing that I'm saying, but not about stocks, but about You, when everyone around you is shaking, everyone's uncertain, it's the time that you're going to be certain, and that's the time you'll excel. Do you hear me? Most importantly, do you feel me? Do you feel you? Uncertainty is your call. To life. It's your call, your moment, your life. So we're going into the holidays now. I want all you to think really hard. Whatever time period you're hearing this message, it doesn't matter. Wherever you are in your life, it doesn't matter. What makes you feel you? What makes you feel confident? What is it that ignites you? What is it that you know you do better than anyone else? What is it that you know that you love more than anyone else? What is it that if you had all the money in the world, after you spent whatever, whatever, whatever, you would go back to do this one thing because that's it. Is it fishing? Cool, be the ultimate fisherman. Is it going to church? Be the ultimate churchgoer, gathering people up in a time of uncertainty. That's a priceless individual, giving people confidence. Your confidence is the answer to everyone's uncertainty. Got it? I'm serious. This, I'm telling you, this is it. This is it. This is how you conquer anything negative that comes your way going forward. Got it? Cool. I love you. I say this because I believe in you. I understand that there's so many people out there that have so much doubt, young people Older people, what the hell's going on? Uncertainty is our new default setting. We wake up in the morning uncertain, we go to bed uncertain what's gonna happen the next day, uncertain about everything. That means that it's time for you, P.D., to be this savior, to be the answer, to be you, that confident you. Go forth, spread beauty and light. I wish you the greatest moment of your life right now. Take a moment right now. Close your eyes— unless you're driving, don't close your eyes. Who are you when you see yourself confident? What are you doing? Where are you? What are you wearing? What's the colors on the wall? What is the smell in the air? When you can visualize that, and the moment that you see yourself confident, then you found the true you, and we found our future hope. Love you, till the next time. Thank you for listening to that episode.
