Welcome to the Soul of Innovation podcast. I am Thomas Anglero, and man, am I feeling good today. I am pumped because I realize again that your mood, my mood, is determined only by us. That's it. That is it.
This morning, I had a Clubhouse group on Clubhouse that I do every morning on Wednesday mornings at 8 AM. If you want to join, please do. And it was interesting.
I started off with this. Hold on, are you ready? Now, this is 8 o'clock in the morning, right? And I start a Clubhouse and I go, good morning, everybody. Do you get it? That's how I started off, and everybody was like, you've had too much coffee. Listen to me, here's the thing, this is it. Why the hell not? Why the hell not start the day off completely pumped, driven, excited by life itself, optimistic? You know, this negative thinking, this thing like, oh man, I'm tired, oh, you know, another day. Bullshit. Your fault. There's no way I'm going to do that to myself. There's no way I'm going to wake up and feel sorry for myself or feel like the world's falling over. Hell the hell no. And why do you do that to yourself? Think about it. There's no one dragging you down. Look around right now. Is anybody pulling on your shoulders?
Unless you got a little kid, then they have the right to pull on your leg and say, pick me up.
I get that. But there's nobody pulling you down.
Mentally, you are pulling you down.
Your thoughts when you're alone, your thoughts when you're in the middle of a meeting, are these thoughts that are pulling you down. You have to stop pulling you down. You know, last night I was thinking, man, I got this to do, I got that to do, and I felt myself pulling myself down. And then I thought, what is the absolute best thing for me right now?
Right now, thinking these negative thoughts, thinking these thoughts of all the things I got to do, this is not helping me. What is that that would really make me feel good and lift me going forward? I jumped in the shower, took a nice warm shower, and then I lay down and I read my book. I felt— oh, and then when I was done reading the book, I read, you know, a couple of pages, a chapter or something. I then put the book down and I meditated because the book, the book, reading those words and flowing to someone else's story took me to a different vibration. It took me out of the everyday stuff, the meetings, listening to all those voices on the, on the computer, on the internet and all that. The book put in a different voice. It replaced their voices with my voice, but with a story. So when I was done with reading the book, I put it down and I started to meditate. I had my eyes open, and then I closed them, and I opened them, and just clearing my mind, clearing my mind, meditating. Meditating is just clearing your mind. Some thoughts flew in, some thoughts flew out, and I was at such a place of peace. I was happy with life. I was happy with myself. When I thought about work, I was like, "No problem." When I thought about people who irritate me through the day or the week or my life, all of a sudden, no problem. All of a sudden, I look forward to anything that was coming. I look forward to tomorrow. I look forward to the rest of my life. And all it took was for me to slow myself down. When's the last time you slowed yourself down? Piling up all the things you got to do, piling up all the meetings, piling up all the emails. If you don't attack, if you don't attack them, if you leave them alone, they're not going to go anywhere. Take care of yourself and then you can look, go back to them and you could kill them. You could just, just, you'll devour them. You'll be much more optimistic.
It is up to you how you start today. It is up to you how you live your day. It is up to you how you digest my voice and what I'm saying right now. It is completely up to you. Stop being so damn negative when all you have to do is take a moment, flip your mind, and just say, yes, this is it. I mean, this— I mean, it's so much fun. It is so much fun. To be in this mood where I am just excited and energized and I get it. And it's so much better to be here than to be in, oh, COVID has gone on for 1 year, 2 years, whatever, it's never going to end.
I'm tired.
I don't see people. I'm tired of being at home. The complaining is just pulling yourself down. How do you flip it around and do this? There's— everybody's complaining. All you got to do is be your natural state of self. You got to be this energized individual. You You have to be happy because you truly are happy, right? Then everybody's going to think you're a freak like they think I am. It doesn't matter because they know subconsciously that they envy you. You are what they need.
They don't get it, but they like it. And after a year of this lockdown plus, we all need people like that. We need you to be like that. So here we go. Let's try it again right now. Let me help you.
Ready?
I want you to relax. All right, now say, I could do this. This is mine, baby. This is it. This is it. This is it. This is it. I'm gonna get a good mood.
Now I'm gonna help you get in a good mood. Here we go. Here we go.
Pump it.
Feel it. Feel it. Come on, come on! This is you and your day. This is how you start off every day. Come on!
Mm-hmm!
The day is yours, baby! Come on, come on! Get it? Do you get it? Do you get it? That intensity, that intensity is all you. That's how you come into the day. You get out of bed and you're, mm-hmm, that's you. That's what the world needs, not that depressed you. When you get out of bed Boom!
Everything you ever dreamt of, you will achieve.
Every person you ever wanted a hug is going to hug you first. Do you get it? That is what the Soul of Innovation is all about.
Taking your soul shaking it up, saying this is where we need to be right now because we need to be a lot more happier. We need to surround ourselves with love.
We need to just glow in the dark.
Listen, go forth, spread beauty and light, and know, and know that you're not alone, and know that you got this, and know that you were meant to be happy, and all you have to do is turn it on.
And maybe that's not your type of music.
I'm not saying— I mean, it's just, it just pumps me up. Whatever pumps you. Hey, why don't— why not?
You wake up in the morning, first thing you do, you open your eyes, you give gratitude.
Thank God you're alive. Thank God you're breathing. Thank God that you had food yesterday. If you had food yesterday, thank God you could have food in a few minutes.
Thank God you have running water. Thank God for everything. I'm not religious. I'm saying just be thankful. And after those moments of thankful, I want you to play whatever song you have. Have your morning song as you get out of bed, as you go to brush your teeth, right? Because now you know my secret. My morning song is real easy. There you go. I love you. Take care. I hope this pumps you up. I hope you think I'm crazy, because you know what? We all need crazy people in our lives. We all need someone to push that damn boundary, because where you stand and where that damn boundary is, there's a lot of distance in between. And if you start covering it— and I'm not trying to drive you to crazy, I'm trying to drive you to the There's a lot of room for you to be you. I love you.
