Welcome to the Soul of Innovation podcast. I am Thomas Anglero, and let me ask you a question. Have you ever given it your all, so much so that you actually were exhausted, not just in your body but in your mind, that you just had nothing left? You felt so empty, it was a new level of empty. This is what I experienced yesterday. I had 3 presentations yesterday, nothing unusual, but as the last one to live— it was a live stream on Zoom, of course— to students at a university, and I was the only speaker they asked to be live. Everybody else was pre-recorded, so I was honored. And on that livestream, I did my presentation, and in the Q&A, these kids, they touched, they felt what I was talking about, to give them advice on life, how to go forward, how to continue, how to conquer the world, how to take your startup to the next level, how to make yourself shine. And their questions, when we did the Q&A, the Q&A went on way longer than my presentation. The Q&A was intense, and I had to be in real time. I had to answer these questions in real time, and I gave them everything.
I opened up. I talked about the flaws in my marriage.
I talked about the flaws in my life. I talked about insecurities. I talked about every— I just, just opened up. And when I was done, I was done. I mean, done. Here I am the very next day and I'm still done. And I reflect and I wonder how many of us have given so much to people, not to benefit us, not to finish that report, not to make money. But we've given so much of ourselves to others that we're exhausted still, 12, 24 hours later. Have you ever given so much of yourself to other people that you truly have nothing left. I sit here in real time now feeling good about that. I gave everything I got, and I'm wondering why Don't we all give everything we got to each other? What is it that's holding us back? What's holding you back? What are the questions you ask yourself before you answer someone? Do you try to qualify it? Do you think, let me not embarrass myself? Do you think, let me impress this person? Why don't you just be raw? Just be raw. Be a true self. When was the last time you answered a question with your raw, true self? That's pretty heavy, isn't it? Every question you answer is some type of— got some sort of dressing on it, doesn't it? It's been prepared in your mind. You've said it before. But why don't you next time, today, tomorrow, you're going to answer every question unformulated in your mind in raw format. Don't think, oh my God, I'm gonna come out stupid. Oh, I won't come out as if everything's going to make sense. It comes out making complete sense. I answered their questions absolutely raw, unprepared, and I just let go. Literally like somebody put me on a slingshot and then let me go and I'm flying through here. I have no control. Those are the words coming out of my mouth. They got exactly how my subconscious mind has recorded it. That's pretty heavy talk from your subconscious mind. Those deep thoughts that no one hears are exactly the thoughts that everyone needs to hear from you. Go forth and spread beauty and light. From this moment on, when people ask you a question, talk raw from your mind. The messages and feedback I got last night afterwards was beautiful. Not only that, I think something happened in the universe because as I drove home, I started getting messages on my email No, on LinkedIn, from an email from people who had listened to this podcast. Has nothing to do with the live event I had just, just been on. Something totally, completely different. Thanking me, actually referencing the number of the podcast. And I was like, my God, the universe is lit up. I'm getting compliments from all over the place for all different content for being raw. With my thoughts. My reflection is I get more compliments when I'm raw with my thoughts than when I prepare my sentences. So why are you preparing your sentences when you want compliments, don't you? Next time somebody asks ask you a question, you answer them with your raw thoughts and watch all the love come to you. I love you. I am your biggest fan, no doubt. And you have so much to look forward to. When you're you. Take care, and until next time.
