Welcome to the Soul of Innovation podcast. I am Thomas Anglero, and I want to talk to you about this time that we're in here in the middle of COVID And I say in the middle because is it ever going to end? Will there be something else during this time here? Do you ever Allow yourself to accept the fact that we're all broken, that our souls, our spirits are broken, that we— that you lack the enthusiasm that you once had. You lack that spark you once had. You experienced something during this time that has made you reflect. Or that made you feel less than what you once were. I know so many people. Matter of fact, I think everyone I speak to is broken in some way. I think you have to accept the fact that you are broken, and that's what I want to talk to you about. Everyone's broken. Everyone's broken in some way, something during this time It has broken us. But it's so important that you recognize and you accept that it's okay to be broken. It's okay not to be the 100% of what you were before. It's a damn pandemic. You've been locked up in wherever you've been— in your house, your apartment, and if you're unfortunate, your room. Mental illness is at an all-time high, and we will see it grow astronomically for the next number of years, if not decades. The outcome of this is that human beings don't know what to do. You're not alone. No one knows what to do. No one's sure. And everybody's looking at everybody else. If you're married to someone, if you're living with someone, you're all— everybody's looking to say, is this the right person? Is this the right time? Should I leave them? What should I do? It's not your fault. This is what everyone's doing, just no one's talking about it. And that's the problem. We're all broken, so why not talk to each other about it? What's so embarrassing about being broken? I think the beauty of sharing that is that we're all broken in different ways. And human beings, we need to talk, we need to communicate. We're— we survive by being amongst each other because of the energy that is shared when we see each other. That's why Zoom and Teams and Webex doesn't work. You don't— can't really share all the energy. You can share some. But you have to share that you're broken. You have to open up and have conversations with people. It's not embarrassing. The way I talk to people, when I can have that moment when it's not so busy, I can see how broken they are. I don't know exactly where, But you can see it on your face. You can see it on your eyebrows. You can see it. I could see it on people when they're just relaxing, listening to me talk. Your face is not the same anymore. The color of your skin is not the same anymore. It's obvious that you're broken. And it's okay. It's okay to be broken. We're all broken in some way. We're all going through some hell. I'm not saying bad times, I'm saying hell. Everyone is. Don't feel alone. My point is that Since everyone's broken, since all of us are feeling some dread, some deep sense of— I feel like something's pulling my heart down. We all have this feeling, and I think it's okay to acknowledge it. Think about having a phone call, or maybe having a lunch, or having something where you just— everyone gets on the call, or the Zoom, or the Teams. And this talks about shares. What's pulling down your heart? What's pulling down your soul? That's the beginning of healing. But faking it till you make it, that bullshit statement, which I hate the fact anybody uses it. You're destroying your life when you have that attitude. I'm gonna fake it till I make it. You're gonna fake it straight into the grave. Goodbye. No one's going to know you. You're not going to know yourself. Goodbye. You're dead. Good luck saying that again. Why don't you just be yourself? Tell people who you are, what you are, what you feel. This is all about taking care of you. Don't bullshit yourself. Do not bullshit yourself. You think you— You think you're fooling everybody. Nobody can see you. You talk a certain way, dress a way, everything like it was before. Bullshit. I call you bullshit right now. You're hurting and I see you. So why don't you just talk about it and start healing and accepting this is where we all are. You're not alone. I love you. I think you really need to love yourself more by being honest and finding someone or finding a moment. Start off just with a moment by yourself. There you go. Yeah, I'm not who I was. I don't feel like who I was. And that's okay. And that's the beginning of healing. And that's the beginning of the end of COVID because COVID is not just about a virus. COVID exposed a lot of our weaknesses that we had within us that we didn't know, and now we know, and that's very embarrassing. But now that we know, let's love ourselves better and more so that we heal and grow and mature. And have a loving life. Go forth and spread beauty and light. I know my talks are deep and not with the high energy that I have, but they're so important because you're important. Your love of yourself is important. Don't bullshit yourself. Love yourself. None of us are perfect, and it's okay. This is Thomas Anglero, your friend for life. I truly believe in you. I truly do. Give yourself a physical hug, a mental hug. Forgive yourself. Talk to yourself about what you think is broken. It's okay to cry. It's very painful. It's okay. And then take that breath and know that it's going to be okay. And know that things are going to get better. And I promise you, the sun will shine again on you. Take care of yourself until next time.
