Welcome to the Soul of Innovation podcast. I am Thomas Anglero, and let me ask you a question: how hard is it to kick ass and take names? How hard is it to just conquer the world? How hard is it to achieve the goal that you see in your mind's eye? I have an answer for you. It's not that damn hard. Let me tell you a story. For a while now, things have been challenging, and I think I could say that for everyone. For you yourself, things have been challenging in your life— personal, business, relationships, financial. Everything's challenging. But this epiphany hit me, this epiphany that I get every once in a while, and once in a while being every couple of years when I find myself having been pulled down by thoughts, thoughts that don't take me anywhere. And the epiphany was that it's time to get back on track, it's time to get a chip on my shoulder, it's time to put my ego out there, it's time for me to really push myself. Now this is not a speech about going to do things that make you uncomfortable. I, I've taken a totally different approach. My approach is just going to do things, going to do things that I know I could kill it, going to do things that I know feeds me and makes me angrier, gives me more energy, makes me more pumped up. It's about being successful, having successive activities and accomplishments that that gets me more and more pumped up. That's number one. The second thing to do to achieve ultimate goals, to climb higher than any height that you thought you accomplished, anything your family's ever thought you could accomplish, and anything your friends want you to accomplish, 'cause most friends wanted you to pull you back down. They say they wish you good luck, but they want to have the Ferrari, not you. The second thing is to do.
Just do.
Just do. The other day I was— had made a to-do list. It was over 11 items long. By the end of the day, I killed 9 of them. Each one by themselves could conquer the world. Just do. Just do. That, that's the secret, is doing and doing and doing. The way to do is by shutting off all mobile phones, by shutting off any distraction other than probably music. Music is a good motivator. And just freaking do. I don't see any limitations when I'm in this mood. I don't see any limitations of what I can accomplish, what I— where I can go. It is a vision. It is a mentality of conquer the damn world. Let me ask you a question. When was the last time you had this mentality? When was the last time you felt you conquered the world? When was the last time you put a limitation on yourself? Probably a moment ago. There are no limitations. Do not let anybody set any agenda for you. Do not ask anybody your opinion, their opinion of what you should do, whether or not they think it's an idea, a good idea. It's irrelevant. The only thing that matters is the thing that matters to you. The only place you should go is the place you want to go. The only feeling you should have in your body is the feeling you want to have. Have this attitude and nothing will stop you, neither will your own laziness. You'll find time to get off your butt and kick some more ass. Whether you are 6 years old and listening to this podcast or you are 60 years old listening to this podcast, irregardless, take a moment, think about it. If you cannot see yourself being a doctor, an astronaut, you cannot see yourself being a 60-year-old person winning the next Hawaii Ironman, take a moment and say, it doesn't matter. I'm just obsessed with this feeling of kicking butt and doing, this feeling of feeling phenomenal, this feeling of conquering, this feeling of confidence. That's the state that you stay in, this feeling of confidence. And the very last thing, get rid of all the people near you, around you, who talk to you, who are next to you, who don't feed you. If they don't feed into your mood, if they don't feed into your attitude, if they don't make you feel like you're going to where you need to go at a faster pace, get rid of them. Be polite, but get rid of them. Get rid of them mentally. You don't have to get rid of them physically. Maybe because they work in your team in a project, you can't get rid of them. That's fine. But you get rid of them as a person that's going to assist you in your mind. You say, this person is not going to help me, fine, they're done. You still work on a project, you still do the— you still teach them with respect, but they're not a person that's an asset in your mind. Only keep people in your mind who will help you to get where you're going. And if there's no one in your mind and you're completely alone, that's fine. Just get there, because I guarantee when you get to where you need to be, where you see yourself being, You won't be alone. There'll be other amazing people there, and everybody else wouldn't want to be hanging out with you. I am Thomas Anglero. I want you to go forth and spread beauty and light with insane confidence, with a belief in yourself, and you keep on believing in yourself. It is okay to have moments of doubt and then remind yourself how great you are. But just don't say, I'm great. I am great, and then go kick some butt. Do something. Finish a project. Launch a new project. Learn something. Read something. Go, go, go, go. Awesome feeling, isn't it? I love you. I'm your biggest fan. I'm your biggest motivator. And I'm going to be one of the people waiting for you when you accomplish your goal. I look forward to talking to you. Soul of Innovation podcast forever, baby. Until next time.
