I hope you truly enjoy all the lessons I share, all the dots I connect that sometimes are just really difficult to get out but it's all for you. I truly hope you enjoy this episode. Welcome to the Soul of Innovation podcast. I'm your host, Thomas Anglero, and this is storytelling time. I want to tell you a story that will lift you up whenever you feel you're out of place at work, whenever you feel you're out of place in society, whenever you feel you're out of place at a party, Whenever you just don't feel like you're— like, you feel like you're a square peg in a round hole. And I think for a lot of us, that's quite often, and that's okay. That's okay. So let me read you this story, and I'll put it all together for you. A father, before he died, said to his son, this is a watch your grandfather gave me and is more than 200 years old. But before I give it to you, go to the watch shop on the first street and tell him I want to sell it and see how much he offers you. The son went to the shop, came back to his father and said, Father, the watchmaker offered me $5 because it's old. The father said, now go to the coffee shop. The son went to the coffee shop, came back and told his father, he offered me too $5, Father. The father then said, go to the museum. And show them the watch. He went, came back to his father, and he said, Father, they offered me a million dollars for this piece. The father said, I wanted to let you know that the right place values you in the right way. Don't find yourself in the wrong place and get angry if you're not valued. Zo— those that know your value are those who appreciate you. Don't stay in a place where nobody sees your value. Do you see yourself in that story? Are you in a place today that nobody sees your value? Have you gone to enough shops, or did you just go to the first shop and stop? And you just took the $5 and you sold yourself for $5. You sold your smile for $5. You sold your soul. You sold your happiness. You sold your future for a few dollars. You must have the strength. We all must have the strength and believe in ourselves so much that no matter who's in front of us, who says what to us, whatever life brings us, whatever bad news there is, whatever accident that happens, we persevere and go through it until we find a place that values us the most. And equally as important, you value others just as much as they value you. Are you at a place that values you? If not, you need to go to another shop. Because you're worth a million dollars, not $5. Think about that. Are you valued today? Are you valued at home? Are you valued at school? Are you valued at work? Here's something even heavier: do you value you? How much would you give yourself? Start there. You're priceless. The world knows you're priceless. Show us. Show you. Keep on shopping. Keep on being you. Na fai dao. Short but sweet but to the point. Love yourself. Be the ultimate version of you. Until the next time, go forth and spread beauty and light. And I love you. Till next time. Thank you for listening to that episode.
