Welcome to the Soul of Innovation podcast. I am Thomas Anglero, and I released a video recently, or The Human Aspect, um, thehumanaspect.com released a video of me from 2 or 3 years ago talking about a sickness in my family. One of my kids was very sick, and how the family pulled through it. And all my kids are fine today. And on this 3-year anniversary of this video, I reflect and I look at all the messages sent by people. I just got one from a friend of mine I went to high school with, and it was a very emotional message thanking me. And saying that that's exactly what she needed to hear today. She herself dealt with cancer. And I reflect on opening up a wound that my entire family has and telling that story to the world and it being on the internet forever for free. Has helped so many people? What story have you told that is painful for you and has helped so many people? You see, the most painful things that we go through in life, when we say them out loud— and it's hard, man, It is so hard to put words to feelings that make you shake, make your lips go dry, make you get nauseous, makes you do all sorts of things because you don't want to tap into that memory. You don't want to tap into that emotion. You don't want to give it air and let it out again, but you have to let it out. See, what you don't understand is that by letting that thing out, you're going to help thousands of people. This video of me, they took a, you know, a snippet of it because I think I've talked for about 20 minutes and they just cut it down to about 60 seconds. And that 60-second video in the last 24 hours has been seen by 1.4 thousand people. People I will personally never meet in my life. But the video is getting more and more popular because people see that when you open up, that we're all the same, that we're all going through the pain. What story do you have that is killing you, that is hurting you, that you just don't want to— forget about talk about, you don't want to think about it? What's What pain do you have? I know you know the pain. I know you're having problems right now because I'm forcing you to think about what pain is it. Now tell your story. You can start with telling your story to one person, or you could go all in like I did, and that was not the plan. It was in the back of my mind, but it wasn't the plan. Go all in to help everyone and to help yourself. Take away other people's pain, make other people feel good with your pain. That's how it works. There's pain everywhere. You're looking at the riots after post-COVID. Now we have riots all over the world, especially the United States. Everything's burning down. This is just the beginning. We got World War III right around the corner. Maybe by the time you hear this, this, this episode of the podcast is on, baby. There's pain everywhere, but the way we will unite The way we will come together is that we're going to share that we're all in pain. That's the very first thing. Don't try to, you know, save face or say, "No, no, I'm good, I'm good, I'm fine. I don't feel anything." Let me tell you right now, you're full of shit. Everyone has pain. The question is what level and what amount of pain you have. What is your level of tolerance to put up with that pain? And then how much pain you have. Tell the world and relieve your pain. Let yourself go. Forgive yourself. Be good to yourself. If you're going to help the world, if we're going to fix everything, we got to fix ourselves. I mean, this is— everybody says this damn saying, but let me tell you from the inside. Let me tell you that as hard as it is to talk about things within me that disturb me because I want to curl up into the fetal position and hide from it, then I know I have to run to it because it's going to help so many people. Because we're all the same, we're all dealing with so much stuff, and that stuff is not unique to any of us. We're all dealing with really similar stuff. Our feelings were hurt. We feel we're not loved. Envy, jealousy, forgotten, lonely, emotional trauma. I think I covered about 90-something percent of every one of you out there listening, and it's okay. I'm not making fun of you. I love you, if anything. But to heal yourself, really, you're only a few minutes away. Tell your story, and I'm promising you, I know you're scared, but let me tell you something. When I did that, when I did— 3 years ago when I did that video, I left the office of The Human Aspect. Their office is in Oslo, Norway, and Jimmy, who runs the whole thing, is an amazing guy. So I mean, if you want to tell your story, contact Jimmy, Jimmy Westerheim at thehumanaspect.com. Just go there, contact him. I'm sure he would love to get your story. When I left there and I left the office, I went down the steps. I refused to take the elevator because I thought I'd get stuck in the damn thing. I was so confused. I didn't know what button I would probably press. And I finally got outside, and I remember it was a very sunny day, and I told him— asked myself, what the hell did I just do? What the hell did I just do? Now I reflect back that I went and I tore out something. I tore open something, a wound, a pain that will never heal. But I did it because I hope someone heals from it and for a moment takes away their pain. Take away other people's pain. Please, please, please, please tell your story. Please share your pain. It's not so painful. Other people will feel better because of you. Not because you're in pain, because they see what you've gone through. They see themselves in you. Please, please, please share your pain. You're not alone. There are thousands of people out there who would have come to your rescue. Thousands of people have not emailed me or contacted me. I wasn't looking to be rescued. It's nice to say, but it's nice to see that thousands of people are seeing the video and a few, just a handful, are writing and saying thank you. That's all, that's all that matters, isn't it? That's all that matters is that someone out there sees your pain. And they feel better, or they understand themselves better, or they don't feel alone for a few minutes, didn't you make a difference? Isn't that huge? You just had an amazing day. You just had an amazing moment. You just helped someone. Please, please, please share your pain. I love all of you. And I'm going to keep on sharing with you everything I got from deep with inside me, because I see that it's the only way for that I know how to exist. Puerto Rican from the projects, Boruch Projects in New York City, now living in one of the most beautiful countries in the world, in Norway. I have a lot of stories left, and I got a lot of light left, and I'm going to give everything I got to all of you. Tell your story. And you'll help so many people get rid of their pain. Take care. Step up. Believe in yourself for a few moments. Contact a friend. Contact Jimmy at thehumanaspect.com. Contact me at ThomasAnglero.com. Let's do this together. Share your pain. Help someone else change their life forever and ever. I love you. Go forth and spread beauty and light. Share your story, share your pain. Until the next time.
