Welcome to the Soul of Innovation podcast. I am Thomas Anglero, and it has been one journey after another over the last months. And as I reflect back, I think about all the things that have happened that were never planned And yet they happen. And yet I still stand. And this attitude is what I want to discuss with you. It's what I want you to think about for yourself. How do you stand today, given all the changes that have happened in your life? Given all the changes that have happened with the people in your life, how do you stand today? Think about yourself. Do you stand straight up? Do you stand at all? Is a question. Are you a couch potato? Do you find that when you get on the bus or the train, you run to a seat? Do you find that when you get to the office or when you get home, you run to a chair? Are you standing at all? And then metaphorically, in your mind, how do you stand? Are you proud of who you are? Are you proud of what you have become. Do you see yourself being standing erect, head up, chin up, eyes forward, shoulders perpendicular, chest out, back straight. Does that describe you in your mind? And more importantly, does that describe you in reality? And then the next question is, how often does the world see you in that pose? That's a really big question. Right now you're seeing yourself, how you stand, how proud you stand. How often are you standing that way? How you stand in public, how you sit in public, how you appear in public speaks volumes for who you see yourself to be and who you've reduced yourself down to. When I'm standing on the bus, I look at these people that get on the bus. Their eyes scan the bus for the first available seat, and they literally dive headfirst into that seat. They sit there, get comfortable, eyes down, no eye contact with anyone, and they're back in their world. They're comfortable, they're protected, no one can bother them. That's the entire appearance they give. Is that who you are? Running from seat to seat, from protective space to protective space. No one bother me, no one hurt me, no one see me. And then you get home and you ask, why was today not an eventful day? Why was today not an incredible day? Why was today a day that no one not saw me again? Is because you ran. You ran from you. You ran from contact. You ran from love. You ran from communication. How many people you make eye contact with today? I'm not saying eye contact for love's sake. Eye contact when you paid for something and you said, "Thank you. Have a great day." Did you even say thank you to anyone today? Did you smile at anyone when you got off the train? When someone held the door? When you made eye contact? Being you, being human, It's all about contact with others. Your day is most fulfilling when you fill it with other people. It is not an accomplishment to go to bed at night and not having interacted with anyone. So many people go to bed and say, I made it through the day, I'm alive. That's not an accomplishment. That's a given. That's hitting the lowest barometer on the barometer scale. That's accomplishing nothing. The top of the Brahmana scale is that you loved and lived and laughed throughout your day with others. Go forth and spread beauty and light. Bring others into your day. Bring others into your view. Bring others into the vicinity of your voice and let their voices immerse you. Let their voices encapsulate you. Let their voices change you. Have a full and beautiful day. Seeing yourself tall and erect, Seeing yourself full of love, seeing yourself happy. Happy is what we all want for ourselves. I am Thomas Anglero. Live life. Like you don't have another moment left. Don't be sad or sorrow. Be happy and interactive, and you will have the longest, most fulfilling life ever. I believe in you. Until next time.
