A Week In The Life Of An $500k/mo AI Agency Owner

A first-person YouTube vlog by Timothy Schucker documenting a week of travel and work as the owner of an AI-focused agency (~$500k/month). The creator attends a Miami mastermind (short-term aim: reach $1M/month) and an insurtech conference in Las Vegas (long-term aim: a billion-dollar exit via enterprise/upmarket play), experiments with AI-assisted production tools (AI eye-contact), and pivots strategy toward higher profitability (targeting ~40–50% margins) and doubling down on creator-led distribution.

Foreign. What up, boys and girls? Coming to you live here from my new apartment. Check out this little office. Got one window nice for the background, two window nice for the views. As I'm working in the middle of filming some ads, I started doing this thing, which is pretty cool. Instead, like what I used to do is it would be like I read the script, I'd have to memorize one line at a time and then I would make direct eye contact with the camera and read it. But I found out this makes it like probably twice as twice or three times as fast to film on my end is I literally will just read the script and I won't look at the camera. And then I use this AI eye contact thing. It like fixes it so it looks like I'm looking at the camera. And total incomplete. Game changer. But spent a couple days ordering stuff on Amazon getting this office nice. Got some plants in here to give us some fresh oxygen and I'm loving it. I'm absolutely loving it. We got busy week coming up. Flight to Miami for the Jeremy Haynes Mastermind and then we're going to an insurtech conference in Vegas afterwards. We're flying semi private there, so that'll be my first time doing that. Pumped for that. Should be exciting. But yeah, I'm not going to be back here till next Friday, so I'm going to be gone for over a week on the road. It's going to be crazy. We are all packed up for tomorrow. We are going for the weekend, heading to Miami. See you guys bright and early. Foreign in Miami probably got delayed, but we just ripped a little podcast with my boy, Windy City. Tristan. Tristan. I'm not gonna try to say this dude's last name, but he's dripping podcast with him. Galabe. I think it is something Eastern European. I think he's Croatian or something. I don't know. But yeah, fun podcast. Cool, dude. Getting a little Uber back to the Airbnb and we're gonna go get some food here in Miami. Try not to get wallet raped, but, you know, it is what it is when you' when you're in Miami. You know what I mean? So. All right. What up, boys? We out here in the Miami penthouse. Not actually a penthouse, but anything in Miami is a penthouse. View's kind of nice, kind of tight. Got a nice little wraparound, baby. Check this out. Look at that. We out here, boys. Got some sushi and some sake. This little Japanese place. Yeah, we out here vibing. Gonna get some rest before this mastermind tomorrow and Hang out here for a little bit. Got zins in the fridge here in case you want to just fucking drink hot sauce. Got that. Hit a little aqua pala here and maybe see a little sugar free Red Bull action. You got stocked up, bro. And get Richard's. This is fucking pimping, dude. Sets through there and literally their media buyers optimize around negative cost per call because they're profitable there and at the back end. But their ascension rate isn't anywhere near as high. And that is a full time position. Yeah, that was two. That was in Tampa. Biggest takeaways from the mastermind. No takeaways. Yeah, I don't have any. Scale will get better now item. Let's go. This is what we pay 60k a year for. I don't know. And scale money well spent. 5 ever. I think honestly every time I go to one of these I'm like we need to get our roas higher. I want to talk to Omar tomorrow about how he's getting a 6x ROAS on the front end. He's own a cheaper product than us. I think some of that is correlated though because like if we had more options to sell people, we'd liquidate so much more of what we spend to sell so many more units. This is where we went yesterday. Little sushi spot was actually kind of gas. They found these little robot things are putting doordash drivers out of business here in Miami. We should like just form a ball in front of it and just block it. Yeah. Because they look so. They have the. They have such kind eyes. Huh? All right. What up y'? All? We are here. We took a shower. About to head over to Jeremy's penthouse. So basically we kind of have this little Miami trip which is helping us get to the short term goal of a million a month. Right. That's what the whole mastermind is all about. Getting to a million a month. So we flew through mi hoyon and then my. My I guess phone marketing director and then now we're about to head to Vegas to an insurtech conference which is to help us get to a billion. So short term goal is what this conference is all about. All of next week is about the long term goal of a billion dollar exit. It's a whole insurtech conference put on by McKinsey and co. Who they basically are like one of the largest consulting firms literally in the world. So that should be fire. It should be valid. There's gonna be a lot of smart people which we're not used to on our side of the insurance business, like, and I don't mean that in a demeaning way, but, like, they're not that high iq. It's the best way I could put it honestly. But this side of the business, I think, is gonna be very, like, strategic, big thinkers. It's gonna be interesting. It's gonna be a very, very unique experience. And I have no idea what we're going to learn, but I know we're going to learn a ton. And we could literally meet one person that could just completely change the course of our entire business. So very hype for that. About to leave this Airbnb, but it's been a fucking dope weekend. I got a lot of people, actually, that had seen my Hormozi video, which was cool. Definitely going to make more of these videos. And I want to talk more about, like, our vision, our goal, what we're actually trying to do with our company. Because ultimately, with this channel, you know, I'm not, like, selling anything. But I think what would be cool is just documenting what I'm doing. You know, showing you guys doing stuff like this. Obviously, it's not a normal day. Normal day is like gym, sauna, cold plunge, work, maybe go get some food, restaurant, whatever. But just documenting what we're doing because we have very big goals. I mean, a billion dollar company is obviously a very ambitious goal. But I think if we can show what we're doing as we're doing it, I think some people watch, and I think it'll also make it easier because we'll be able to attract talent that wants to be on board with that. So, yeah, I'm loving this YouTube thing so far. Nice, beautiful sunny day. And I'll catch you guys at the penthouse. Little private elevator action here, bro. This elevator zooms. Look at this thing. Feel like I'm in a wind tunnel. You guys think about jumping a little bit? Yeah. From the bucket of revenue leakage. So just trying to basically optimize that type of thing as well. So as you can see, we got 10 here. This is video inception right here. What? What? Big takeaway. You got number three throw. Number three takeaway for the people. I don't know what number one and number two is, so I'm probably gonna say the same thing. I talked about offer alignment and then sales efficiency in terms of optimizing revenue leakage probably are making less in the short term because we're scaling. Yeah. And, like, so I talked to these guys, like, 15x roas on AX was like. But they're spending 30k a month. Yeah. And they're not actually. They're not as pushing for skill. You know, it says. That was my first question. Dude, why are you not gassing it right now? Right. And so I think. So, yeah, we're about to. I don't know. I mean, I think we got. We got bullied by Jeremy into. Into to scaling and making it and figuring it out as we go, as we scale, which I think is the better advice, because otherwise you just stay stagnant. You know, we talked to a lot of these dudes, and it's like, yeah, I'm at 100k a month. Hell yeah, dude, Meet him. Next. Next mess run. Yo, what are you at? I'm at 100k a month. Okay. Hell yeah. Next mess around. I'm at 150k a month. Yeah. And it's like, when you're careful, you move slower. And so we've been the opposite of careful. We've moved fast, we've up a bit. But I think long term, it'll serve us better because our skills get better faster. Yeah. And then 100%, you know, as the offer aligns, like, if we. If we had, like, we had perfect offer alignment and our money model was, like, crazy dialed in, I think it would be fucking printing. Enjoy the view. Jeremy's definitely in there right now. But, yeah, Jeremy's fine. Definitely watching as he always. He's always fine. But, yeah. So you were saying, you're talking to him, and what were you thinking? Like, I was just thinking, like, we should be doing more, like, relatively, like, based on, like, our level skill and level of knowledge. Like, I think it does come down to execution on some ends, but realistically, like, we should definitely be doing more than we are. Yeah. With the level of sophistication that we have. Yeah. I don't know. It's just frustrating. Definitely. All right, y'. All. So we're back in Scottsdale for, like, eight hours. Come home. You guys should have seen this before. Looks like a frat house. Got my lady. She turned it into a home. Got a salt lamp, a paper lamp on the floor. This rug wasn't here. This little sausage. What's up, buddy? What's up? What's up? The sausage was there. He was there, too. This crackhead dog. So, yeah, feels a little more livable. I like it. Just enjoying the moment. All right, buddy, you ready? Check out that sunset, boys and girls. What living in Arizona is like. I was definitely meant to do that and not flight commercial. Literally four people on the flight jump on the plane, they give you free snacks, free drinks the whole way there. And then now we're here. Las Vegas, baby. AM recruiting vsl. We put together. Vegas is a weird ass city, man. I was driving to this apartment on the Uber. But anyway, there was a billboard, billboards everywhere actually advertising like strip clubs. But not just like a sign. It was like videos of like what would go on in the strip clubs. And there was one, it was Empire strips back and it was just a bunch of like ladies, respectable ladies in stormtrooper outfits just like twerking all over. Vegas is a very, a very, very strange, odd city to be in for sure. All right, brother, so before we head to this convention center, what are your intentions for this event? Basically it's just trying to figure out what ri. What the rich people's problems are. What are they looking for in a solution in like tech, what the most valuable problem to solve is. You can solve it with the tech that they're looking for. Just make it better than whatever's out there. Like who do we need to meet? Private equity people and look at the solutions that are getting the most amount of attention in the convention. Yeah. So if everybody's swarming the AI tables, that's a sign. Also I think we should try to beat Sakubo from McKinsey and meet people that run private equity. Because there's an employee in that particular. And we're back in az, baby. Just hit a little three minute cold plunge. Hanging out with the lady. Doing some laps on the roof. Yeah. So to recap that event, honestly, we went in there, sat down for one thing, one presentation, literally only one, and talked to these guys from some like consulting firm and they were talking about how like essentially the companies that they want to buy are the like insuretech AI side are. Right now it's mostly companies that are like doing like back office stuff as opposed to like helping sell insurance with AI, which honestly does not really play into my skill sets. So it was very eye openening. We had kind of like an epiphany in terms of what we need to do with our business. Like we've been really heavy focusing on growth the last few months to get to like 500k month. But now I want to really optimize for profit and just drive up to like 40, 50% margins and do what we can on that end. So that's kind of the direction that we decided to take it in. And then really just like doubling down on this YouTube channel, talking about what we're doing, putting out some free value. You know, maybe in the future we'll have some consulting thing on this, on this side and just attract talent to go and do, like, the really big play. But I think where we are right now makes more sense to just optimize for profit and then see what we can do, see what the big play is and continue running this business and going, going up market in terms of the enterprises. But the biggest thing I realized, honestly was, like, I don't really want to make a insuretech business selling to random insurance carriers and helping them file claims. It just sounds really boring and not something that really aligns with my skill set. So eye opening spent all of a couple hours there and was able to take that away and realize that, yeah, now we're back. And that's going to wrap up the video, y' all.
