Day In The Life Of A Life Insurance Agent (Work From Home)

This is a first-person vlog by Julian, a life insurance producer and agency owner, showing a typical work-from-home day. He presents himself as a high-performing agent (claims $40k/month approved production), demonstrates live sales calls and pricing for guaranteed/whole-life coverage (SBLI quotes for $30k/$25k/$20k), coaches agents via screen-share, handles no-shows and follow-ups, and closes two applications (~$2,500 in sales) while reflecting on tactics (patience, persistence, training). The video mixes call transcripts, coaching, and personal routine to illustrate how Julian balances direct sales and agency leadership.

What's up guys? I'm gonna be showing you the day in the life of a 40k a month producer, what I do on my day to day basis to write 40k a month in life insurance business that's approved. So I'm not just talking about business that like I submit it gets declined or never goes through. This is actually money I get like business I get paid on. And I just want to make that super clear for you guys. That way you have an understanding of what I'm talking about. So got my handy dandy setup here. Got my little headphones, my little noise canceling headphones. I think you guys probably heard some construction out there. It's pretty loud and wild. But I've already got some phone calls out here for the day. It's about 10am my time. It is like 40 minutes of StairMaster here earlier. I like to start the day off with a rigorous workout to make sure that I'm on pace to hit my goals with my fitness and also with my finances. Keeps me good, good and straight in the head whenever I'm like working out consistently. So got my handy dandy script up here and then I've got my, my system up and I'm just gonna be documenting what I'm doing today. So between training agents, running the agency and calling, it's, it's difficult to like, you know, manage your time and, and stay on, on top of the leads as much. But I'm gonna give you guys a sneak peek of what you into my lifestyle and what it could look like for you if you want to work from home and, and do what, what I'm doing, basically. So without any further ado, I'm gonna get to DOT back to dial in and see if we can't capture some good footage for you.
All right, guys, so I'm gonna be calling, trying to set you up here. I got you on the charger too, so this is pretty tough, but I'm gonna call a follow up here, an appointment. And this is on a lady who I haven't talked to for a couple months, but we had an appointment this morning because I followed her up. We're gonna see what the dealio is.
Hey, Belinda. Yeah, it's Julian calling you for our appointment. How you doing this morning?
That's good to hear. I know we had kind of gotten a little bit caught up yesterday, but we wanted to go a little more in depth to kind of figure everything out, finer details. I think you said nothing had kind of changed with your health since we last Talked. Right.
Okay, gotcha. And can you remind me, kind of like I think you said, you were just looking to do this to cover a burial. Was there anything else you were kind of looking to cover with this?
Okay. Awesome. Awesome. So I know today we were kind of supposed to go over those numbers again and kind of see if we could even get you approved. Do you have, like, a pen and paper around so we can make sure everything's good for you?
Okay, just let me know when you're ready. I got it all pulled up.
Okay. And it just came up for me here. Just let me know whenever you have. Okay, awesome. So this company that I'm looking at here is called sbli. This is the one we had talked about earlier.
And that's S as in sand, B as in boy, L as in lime eyes and ice.
Okay. And we can always go up or down a little bit if we need to, but the ones that we came back with originally were for 30,000, 25,000.
And then the 20,000. Let me know when you got it.
Yeah. Now these. Remember when we talked if you were able to get approved? These were all day one, so they started immediately with no waiting period. The biggest hurdle we got to jump over is just getting that approval set in place for you. Did you have any questions for me on this whole life policy or how it works or anything?
Okay.
Yeah. Let's see what the prices are here for us. It looks like the 30,000 came back at only 124.37amonth.
The 25,000 came back at only 104.34amonth.
And then the 20,000 came back at $84.30. Let me know you got it.
Awesome. Now, whenever we had talked about this last time, I'm not really sure which one you wanted to go forward with so that we could get that approval for you, but which one did you think that would make the most sense for you at this time?
20,000. Okay. And we would still have to apply and everything. But if you. If you did get approved, would you just want this plan to start today?
Okay. And most of my clients are setting this up for the first of the third. Which one works better for you?
Okay. Is that like the third Wednesday or something? Okay, yeah, we can do that for you. No problem at all. Let me get logged in here and we'll be able to get an answer for you here today. Have you ever applied for life insurance before?
Okay, so you kind of know the deal. I just got to go through, confirm some info with you. Ask you the health questions and whatnot. Do you have any questions for me on that process?
Beautiful. Let me go through this here real quick with you. I'm going to kind of sound like a robot, okay? So don't hate me, but I'm going to roll through it. And if you hear anything that stands out to you, if you have any questions, you just let me know. Okay?
All righty. So I have you down. So the appointment that actually showed there a second ago hung up on me in the middle of the application with no warning. Tried getting her back. She didn't respond. Back on the phones, and I was just coaching an agent through a deal. Couldn't film that because it was on my phone, but got another appointment coming up, about to hit it hard, and let's see if we can't get a couple deals on the books today. Keep you updated.
So I am heating up my meal prep here and.
Just got off the phone with a prospect and. Cool dude, super cool cat. But the problem was is right now he's in a, like, a hospitalized facility type deal. Whatever I could. I didn't really get the lowdown on it, but long story short, he's spending 30 to $40 a day on food right now, so he doesn't have any extra cash to put into insurance. Now, if somebody doesn't have any money, I don't want to sell them insurance. I went for the post date. He told me he still doesn't have any money. I figured I'd save myself a headache and a charge back because he said he's gonna be in there for 60 days. So I set my timeline to follow up with him in the 60 days. That way I'm gonna be the first one back to touch base with him whenever he gets out of the hospital there. So I'm about to eat lunch. It's a nice sunny day out. I might even go for, like, a walk just to get some fresh air, get the blood pumping and. And get back on the phones here so I can find me a deal. I'm two quotes in for the day, and I'm excited to see what the day brings. So I'll keep you guys in the loop and I'll keep you posted. What's up, guys? Quick update. So I went for an afternoon walk.
Had a little, like, half cup of coffee, and I've just pretty much been dialing here. Haven't really made too much headway. I've had several no shows, which is pretty common in the business. Nothing that, like, nothing to worry about or Whatever. You just gotta pretty much just keep dialing power through and then find someone who's looking to buy. Got a couple quotes off today, still at two quotes, I think. Just been dialing and I had to help an agent get, get a deal. Then I coached an agent through another deal.
So pretty much just hitting the phonies, trying to get something to shake out here and that's pretty much it. You know, just going to keep you guys in the loop here and we'll see what shakes up today. Here I am.
I'm screen share coaching a deal right now, getting it over the line for an agent.
We're going to see if we can't get this lady approved here on the spot. This is a little bit more of what my day has transitioned to. And if you're an agent, you won't really be doing a ton of this. But as an agency owner, a lot of my time has gone towards doing business with the clients, of course, but also helping the agents get their deals over the line so that they can grow in their career. And this is one of the things that we do here at Zo Assurance because most people don't get this kind of support and most of them fail for that reason. So I'm gonna get back to it. All right, guys, so to finish out the day here, we ended up getting two applications. Did a little over 2,500 in sales. @ the very end of the day there, his and hers policies did a replacement. She had a term she didn't know about and was completely misinformed by the previous agent. She was super frustrated to figure that out. And then, you know, they were glad they caught it early. We were able to get it fixed up for her and now they both have whole life policies and they're super excited, so.
It was awesome. Got to help them out and did 25. Oh, it was like 25. Just under 2600 in sales. Just over 2500. And yeah, really bumped my week up there, which is pretty awesome. The guy that I was coaching earlier lost the deal because he wasn't able to get her approved and he had to book her out because they were busy or whatever. So pretty good stuff overall. And just like kind of some key takeaways here from the day is obviously just like stay patient, keep your head on straight and keep a positive attitude going into every call. Because if I had gotten frustrated from, you know, that whole day of nothing happening and whatnot, I would not have been able to get those calls because I wouldn't have the right attitude going into it, so hopefully that's helpful. Now going into the tomorrow, we have got a lot of appointments on the books. Got a couple other weekend warriors coming into it with me. We're gonna see if we can't finish out the week strong and hit our weekly goal as a team.
And knock it out of the park. So hopefully you guys enjoyed this. We make these videos just to try to help you guys see what it's like to sell insurance at a high level. And it's really not much different from probably what you're already doing, except for I train constantly and.
I'm always putting in high amounts of effort. When I'm in, I'm in. I'm not like half in, half out. It's when I'm on, I'm on. When I'm off, I'm off type of deal. And so if you can come to this game with that level of intensity while you're in it, you're going to get massive results. And if you guys want to see more videos like this, let us know.
