A short YouTube monologue by Timothy Schucker about handling chargebacks in sales-driven businesses. The speaker reports a chargeback ratio of between 20%–30%, describes practical responses (hiring admin support, following up with past customers), and frames chargebacks pragmatically as a "free loan"—a cost of doing business to be covered by writing more business rather than direct repayment.

How's the chargeback ratio? Between 20 and 30%. Definitely could be better. Just being able to follow up with people I've already sold kind of just always focused on the next sale. So maybe I should invest in an admin or something. That could keep people on the books better. I mean chargebacks are going to happen. It sucks, but it's just part of that business. If you're going to get all butthurt about chargebacks and people hanging up on you and cussing you out on the phones, you're not going to make it in this business. So. So chargebacks are just part of the game. I kind of think about it as a free loan. I got to advance the money, I have to pay it back but I've never actually had to pay back a carrier. I just write more business with that carrier to pay off that debt and they give me a loan for 0% interest to reinvest back into my business. I try and just keep it moving and stay positive.
