How These Insurance Agents Sell $1,000 Per Day Generating Their Own Leads

This is a speaker-labeled YouTube interview (Julian hosts) with Eddie and Eris Sims, a married producing team and prior Air Force members who built an insurance business first via in-person prospecting (malls/door-to-door) and later by generating their own leads with a Facebook ad strategy. They report investing $1,900 in ad spend and receiving 223 leads, describe strong returns (quoted figures include "9138 AP issued" and "66,600 to be issued"), and outline mindset and activity-based advice: be dedicated to the process, invest in yourself, be patient but urgent, maintain a positive mental attitude, set big goals, and take ownership. The video closes with a CTA to contact them in the Insurance Agent Freedom Facebook group and links to calendared calls.

What's going on? Ladies and gentlemen, today I've got Eris and Eddie Sims coming to you live with two producers that are doing over a thousand a day in sales. About a thousand a day. And we want to hear a little bit about their story. And at the end of this video, they're actually going to give you three tips on how you can have an extremely successful insurance business and how you can start getting the exact same results that they're getting currently. What's going on, Eris? What's going on, Eddie?
Hey, what's up? How's it going, Julian?
What's up, brother?
Good. It's going good. Nice to have you guys on today. Thanks for coming. Um, thanks for having us. Of course, of course. Like, how could I not? I mean, you guys are doing some huge stuff. Monster producers out here in the industry. I know everyone in, in the crowd is most curious about is what's your background? You know, like, are you guys just. Were you guys born salespeople? Did you guys just jump into this and start producing 100,000 a day or what does that look like? What's your background?
Yeah, so we didn't come out the womb, you know, and the doctor said, hey, you guys are going to be great salespeople. Right? That could be the first.
Right.
But we're, we're prior military, Right. So right after high school, both myself and my wife here, she'll obviously tell her story in a second. Right. But we both enlisted into the Air Force. I did about six years, she did four. And we were really at a point where a lot of our, you know, family and a lot of our friends thought that we were doing really, really well. Right. But between our four walls, right. We always knew there was actually something great, like a greater life out there that was within our reach. And the opportunity, obviously, get into the life insurance industry with the financial services industry. It found me at a pretty interesting time in my life. Kind of like a fork in a row, for lack of better words. So that's kind of how I actually ended up here.
Right.
So she kind of followed behind me, but I'll let you go ahead.
Yeah. And the funny thing, and he actually got his license like a couple months before he deployed to Afghanistan. No, a couple days a week. Yeah, before he deployed. So he was getting that out the way. And when he left, I actually took over and started working part time while I was working in mental health in the Air Force. And so when he came back, we just, I got out fully and then we just went full Throttle with insurance. And he just came behind me. So we were up in Idaho, actually, and then we moved to Las Vegas, so that's where we are now.
Okay. Wow. Yeah, I know. That's. I know I've talked to you guys quite a few times. I never knew you went to Afghanistan and stuff. Man, that's. That's really cool. I. I think that's. That's super relatable to most producers because I don't think any of us were born salespeople. And I can tell you for sure, especially if you'd asked. Even probably even when I was 18, you know, thinking I had the whole world figured out, I never thought I would get into the insurance business. I don't think anyone ever, ever. Like, I'm gonna be an insurance agent and I'm gonna be great at it. Like, I never would have. I never would have thought that. But that. That's super, super cool. So tell us about kind of the trajectory of your insurance career. So you guys were. You're in Afghanistan. Air stepped in, and then from there, how did that kind of progress? Tell us a little more.
Yep. So really what it allowed me to do was, you know, when I actually separated, the military honestly gave me a way that I can make an immediate income right out of the gate. So for me, the military was the last time that I actually had a job and ever will have a job. Right. I wanted to work for myself, but I didn't know how that would actually work. So the military really. I mean, sorry, the me getting my life insurance license and getting involved into the industry, that was really a way for me to see what I was really made of. Right. So having my life license and, you know, a couple of years afterwards, I ended up getting my investment license as well. Right. I just started making some good money, you know, just obviously support a household. Right. It wasn't a ton of money or anything like that starting up front. Right. But I was always a hard worker. I always set goals for myself. So making money has never really, really been issue for us. But now we're at the point where, okay, we can see ourselves not really just, you know, working to pay bills or save a little bit of money. At this point, we're looking at how big we can actually scale this thing. And obviously working with you guys, with the support that you guys have, the resources, there's no reason why we can't do that. So what you got there?
Yeah. And I also feel like just to go a little bit deeper is helping other people find that because Eddie, he was actually prospecting in the mall. Like, imagine that. Imagine if people. We didn't go to the mall that day, we probably wouldn't even be in the industry now. So it's super crazy, like, you know, meeting new people, and a lot of people pray at night. Like, I need to find opportunity. I'm going to lose my job. I need some extra money. Like, there's a lot of different things that come along with this. So having the opportunity to help others and, you know, bring them and help them.
Right.
Teach them what you know and make some money. Right. And help their family, it's like, that's the biggest goal I think, that we have.
So, like, your goal is. Is kind of to add value to. To other people and like the. Like by selling them insurance or by kind of coaching them through how to build this business.
Yeah. So it's kind of both ways now that you mentioned that. So the first one will be obviously to teach them what we do, how to make money and get their insurance license and be a big, like a hero in the community. Right. And the other part would be obviously to help a lot of families because especially in our culture. Right. A lot of people don't even know what life insurance is or what life insurance to get or whatever. Right. So GoFundMe is winning in our community.
They're killing it.
Yeah, they're killing it. So we need to, you know, step up. We need more people to help us obviously help others. So it's just like.
Yeah, no, you're exactly right. And that's kind of one of the reasons that I was attracted to this industry is the. The impact that you can make not just with the client, but with other people. In fact, that's how me and Tim got into, you know, building advanced agent marketing as a company is just, you know, really, really trying to invest in others and help them grow. Because ultimately, the amount of lives that you can touch with this business is insane. The amount of, like, if you think about the ripple effect, if you save one person from being having to pay a $20,000 burial bill or having to pay for their husband's home because he got in a car accident and just didn't make it home one day after work, whatever. Like, you could be the difference between the kids growing up in a cardboard box or the kids getting to go to college. Like, completely different lives, completely different outcomes. And nobody really thinks about what happens after the fact. They just think about either getting the next sale or the person that's in front of you. The Prospect if you don't explain that process to them, sometimes doesn't understand the value of the product. I love what you guys are doing. I think that one thing that could really benefit a lot of agents watching this right now is story is super relatable. I'm, I'm curious, what were you guys. So you guys obviously, you know, you were, you were going after getting business, you're going after this, you're going after, you're building it, you're in the mall, you know, you're, you're getting people recruited, you're getting them in, you're selling policies. What, what did you end up doing, like for your lead source prior to doing business with us?
Yeah, so there was no such thing as leads to us at that point. Right. So it was really the, yeah, it was really the hustle and bustle. Right. Okay. Good old fashioned. I mean, of course around this time, this was, you know, a few years ago now. Right. But around this time, it was mostly, I would say 80, 90%, you know, hey, go, go out and meet some people, you know, shake some hands, kiss.
Somebody would have holes in his shoes.
Yeah, I literally can go downstairs and actually find the shoes that I actually used to wear for like a year and a half straight. And you know, a lot of Times that being 110 degree weather in Las Vegas in the middle of July. Right. You guys know how it is on the Southwest. Right.
So I'm in Phoenix. So it's, it's literally the exact same.
Yeah, yeah, exactly. Right. So it was really the hustle and bustle. Right. But then of course, I mean, obviously you get, you know, every now and then you get a little bit of fruit of your labor and someone wants to refer you to a best friend or a sister sibling that's underinsured, maybe they don't have anything. And then you really, obviously, you know, you get that here and there. Right. But it was really a whole lot of that. Right. So wasn't really a whole lot of social media and definitely didn't think about the opportunity of obviously getting leads and putting our business in more places than our physical one body can be at one time. But yeah, so that's what it was.
Yeah, I think that's, that's huge. I did Amway a while back. I'm sure most of you watching know that. But it's funny, I used to do the whole like shaking hands, kissing babies, talk to people in the supermarket, go to the mall. Dude, I know exactly how it is. One of the guys that works with Us actually he got recruited by a guy that I recruited in Amway. So. It's funny, it's a small world. All of my friends have resulted from the business of, of sales and multi level marketing and all sorts of things. It's been really cool to see, but I think that's. Most people don't like just do the cold network based marketing thing like you guys do. Which is one of the reasons I have a ton of respect for you guys. Because a lot of people, they like, you know, they'll just be like, man, I just want live transfers, et cetera, et cetera, whatever. But it's, it takes a different set of. I don't want to say, I don't want to like, you know, I'm going to keep it pg. But it takes a, it takes a different type of person to do that. And so I think it's really cool you guys have done that. And I know you guys were in a little bit of a unique position before we jump into the, into what you would, you know, advice you would give other producers that, that want to build a business like yours and want to learn more and really dive into those numbers. But I'm curious, tell us a little more about what you guys were doing. I know you guys were buying leads. What did that look like when you were, when you were getting into, before working with us?
Yeah, so at first we were, our leads were $60 a pop. So yeah, they're pretty expensive. And so I was thinking like we were still gonna go through with it. You know, we commit to things so we do them. But I was like, it gotta be a way we can like make these margins bigger. Like it has to be. And I ran across you guys ad on Facebook.
Which is crazy, right? So everything comes at the right time. But yeah, ran into the ad on Facebook, I messaged John and he, we actually talked a couple days ago. He was like, I was going through them, our messages. You were like, is this gonna work? You know, like I was super nervous, like anybody else would be. But we just believed in ourselves. We took you guys advice, we did everything you asked us to do, like step by step. And it's, it's been really well, like we don't want to stop.
It's funny you say that because it's like what it comes down to is one of the biggest things that you in business. And I've had to do this myself. I've spent my life savings like back in the past and starting every business I've ever started. Like I've always gone all in. I've. I went to zero a couple times when I was starting, trying to start new businesses. Failed, succeeded, failed, succeeded, failed, succeeded, et cetera, et cetera. And it's. It's really. It's true. Like, you know, taking that leap of faith sometimes is all you need to do.
And it's what.
Another thing, though, I do want to give credit to is that it's. It definitely, like, we have a lot of things that are extremely helpful for agents, but one of the things that's most impressive about you guys and one of the things that I've. I've really enjoyed working with you on is that you guys, it takes two to dance. And you guys are always ready to roll. There's no question about, hey, man, have you made any calls? Like, I don't even have to text you guys and ask, like, hey, have you guys made calls or anything? Like, guys are always on the ball. And that's one thing I really liked about it the whole time. I know Aris, when I. I hadn't met Eddie until later, but when I was talking with AIs initially, you were always asking questions, always hungry, always going after it. And then as I've met Eddie, it's. It's something that seems to run deep in his family, and it's something that I've. I have a great appreciation for because I share that core value with you guys. So huge stuff. Let's talk about a little more of the. Of the. Of the numbers that. That people are kind of curious about. You guys are freaking killing it. I mean, say a lot. Fail in the group.
Met in the.
In the Facebook group. We're seeing a. People asking you questions. I'm sure you guys are getting DMS already. If you're not, you will be. I know for a fact. But you guys are generating your own leads using our. Using our Facebook ad strategy. Platinum ad strategy. But tell us, like, you know, what kind of production are you getting? I know in the last week, remind me real quick, what do you guys have going on?
Yeah, so since we started, actually spent about 1900 bucks on, like, our ad spend, which is funny because if the numbers are gonna add up. So 1900 bucks on ad spend, 223 leads. Right. So even that is amazing because we would have spent who knows how much on the 60 apocalypse. Right? And then we did 9138 AP issued, and they were waiting on about 66,600 to be issued.
So you guys are looking. You guys are closing in on a double digit return there, which is phenomenal. I mean, most people, if they get $3 for every $1 they put in, they think they found the, you know, the gold rush in California. So what you guys are doing is absurd. On. On those accounts and, and those leads. I'm sure there's more money there too.
Definitely.
Yeah, for sure. For sure. So, obviously, I mean, you guys are. Are picking up some steam here. You're. Now you're. You're getting closer to doing a thousand a day. What are. And I want to hear a little bit from both of you. If you want to do three each, that's fine. But I want to know a little more about what are three things that, if I'm an agent watching this, maybe I'm struggling. Maybe I'm paying $60 a lead or buying leads from a lead vendor. I keep hearing, I'm not interested. I thought it was free. I don't even know what this is about. Stop calling me. Whatever it is, I'm struggling. Maybe I'm thinking about even getting out of the industry. Some people don't even want to think about talking about that. But it happens every day. Pieces of advice you would give me to accelerate my business, to take my business to the next level and also get, like, maybe get back on the horse if I've fallen off.
Yeah, definitely. And that can happen. Like, we can't say every day was perfect. Like, it was days. I'm like. Or doing the right thing. Sorry, excuse my language. But I would say the first thing would be to be dedicated to the process. This is a especially. I've never dealt with the leads before this, except for just for a month when I was doing 60 bucks a leave. But I was over that, Right?
Yep.
But be dedicated to the process. It is a process, so you're going to have to follow up and things like that. So just be dedicated to that and don't give up on that. Another thing I would say is huge is invest into yourself. So a lot of people, they may come from backgrounds like us. We didn't have to pay for a lead. We would do 10k, like, nothing, you know, but invest into yourself so you can grow. Right. So invest into yourself is a huge thing. Don't be scared to invest to yourself. The third thing I would say is be patient, but be urgent. So if that can make sense to a lot of people, be patient, but be urgent.
It does. No, it really does. And this. Actually, I want to. I want to expand a little more on that one because it's something that I've struggled with a lot as, as in business and just, you know, as a young man, when I was, when I was kind of, you know, coming into this and just working odd jobs, etc. Etc. But one thing I think people really take, like really for granted is the opportunity we have in front of us. And it's one thing is to make sure to be patient with, with the results that you want to get in business and in life, but also being urgent with the activity that you're taking. And that's, that's really the caveat there in that statement is be patient with the results, but be urgent with the activity. Because if you are patient with the activity but urgent with the results, you'll end up in a ditch and you end up frustrated, angry, and without the results that you're looking for. So I think that's freaking. That's gold. That's gold there. Anything, anything to add, Eddie?
Yeah, of course. So I've got, you know, kind of a few virtues that I always live by that, you know, if I was me starting, me looking back on how I actually started, right. What would have obviously got me through those times. And I still replay a lot of those conversations with myself because obviously, naturally we all have those conversations, right? I think number one is, is a positive mental attitude, right? And I think that's one of the things that is so cliche that you hear it so much that it kinda is like so easy to think about that it just, you know, goes over your head, right? But a positive mental attitude goes as, I mean, I mean, you really can't say enough about it because without it, I mean, you're dead in the water before you even start, right? So you really have to do a checkup from the neck up and say, you know what? No matter how my day or week or month actually ends, right. I'm going to wake up with every single day with a positive intentions from start when I first get my feet hit out the bed, right? To when not, you know, retire at the end of the day, right? So positive mental attitude before anything else, right? Number two is, is you want to have big goals, right? So I heard a saying when I first got started, right? And I don't know who it was actually from. It's probably from a book that I actually read, right? Was make no Small Plans for they do not have the power to stir the hearts of men, right? So if you're in my position, right, Making a couple thousand dollars, and this is for everybody, right? But making a couple thousand dollars is not really inspiring, of course, for someone who's obviously not used to making that type of money. Of course. Right. But you've got to figure out what's going to stir your soul and really get you out there to really burn your butt. Right? So you got to put. You got to put it all on the line. Right. So I feel like setting, you know, setting big goals is going to be something that really makes you uncomfortable but really keeps your mind, you know, keeping the main thing. The main thing and what you're actually trying to accomplish. And I only think that, you know, setting big goals will allow you to do that. Right. But then number three is. I don't think this is number three. Right. Can, you know, very easily be top two or even number one. Right. Number three is take ownership into your business. Right. Nobody's going to come and knock on your door and say, hey, I've got 1500 been AP. Can you write up my whole entire family and my grandkids? Right. You gotta. There. You gotta make your opportunities happen. You can't wait for someone to do something for you. You'll be waiting until you're crisp if that was the case. Right. So you gotta. There. You gotta create your own opportunity.
So that goes with investing in yourself too, because a lot of people, they're scared to invest in themselves. And then you're, like, taking all this time to figure something out. And time is money, right?
Exactly. Yeah. You guys are speaking my language. I was just talking about this stuff earlier with the whole, you know, you got to be. If you're waiting for people to come to you, you're going to end up waiting the. You know, till the end of the end of your life, because they're not coming. But I know we're. We're kind of getting, you know, it's. It's been a few minutes here. I want to go ahead and wrap everything up. But, gosh, I want to say thank you guys so much for the value you bring to this call. And. And, you know, there's. There's agents that are going to watch this whose lives are going to. Changing as this will you. Whose lives will change as this will live on forever. But is it okay if someone wanted to reach out, maybe ask you guys some questions and get, like, I don't know, maybe a little bit of private mentorship from you guys in the Facebook group? Would that be all right?
Yeah, guys, the Facebook group is super valuable. I'm Eris Sims, and he's Eddie Sims. We don't share Facebook or anything. But you're gonna see us close in and you can ask us a question.
And we're getting, I'm sorry, you guys. We're getting better at, obviously, getting back. I did receive some DMs, right. But we're definitely, you know, open. So reach out to me, Eddie Sims, and obviously my wife, Eris.
Right.
So reach out to us.
Yeah. And you can find them in the. In the Facebook group, Insurance Agent Freedom. I'll actually put a link down below.
