Ladies and gentlemen, in this video, we're going to be speaking with an agent who sold $8,000 in one single week. This agent went from writing $8,000 in a month to now, just recently, he sold $8,000 in just one week. And in today's video, he's going to unveil his secrets to how he's absolutely killing it on the phones and how you can replicate his success for yourself. So without any further ado, Kyle Jordan, welcome to the channel. I've been waiting for this one for a while, man, and I'm excited to finally have you on here.
Yeah, me too, man. It's. It's good to be able to actually put in the work and see the results. It's. It's pretty awesome to see.
Amen. I love to hear it. So for the audience members who maybe don't know who you are, just kind of give a little bit of a brief background on yourself, how long you've been in the insurance business and what you've been up to recently.
Yeah, so my name is Kyle Jordan. I'm kind of just Brazilian jiu jitsu, comic book and rollerblading nerd who ended up finding himself getting into some life insurance and basically was doing just the regular jobs. I was actually doing a cleaning supervising role at my last job and, you know, kids started coming into the picture and I realized real quick, I need to do something for myself and started just kind of looking into it. Had some experience with lack of life insurance before, and it kind of really got me thinking about the fact that, hey, maybe this might be something good for me. Got into the insurance space about two years ago and really it's. It's been a lot of learning, but I can honestly say that it's been very fulfilling. A lot better than having to sit there and clean toilets.
Yeah, I remember because we. The first time I think you and I ever spoke, I was in. I was in Columbia. And I remember, like, I was sitting on a. It was like nighttime and I was sitting on a balcony and I was making calls to different people that had, like, there were leads inside of our system to. That were agents. Right. And I gave you a cold call basically to get you to purchase leads. And since then, the relationship's kind of transformed. At that time, you were still. I think you were managing the cleaning business, correct?
Yeah. Yep, yep. Yeah. Putting a lot of work at that time. Yeah, Just, you know, making sure that people could stay on their P's and Q's and myself.
Yeah, dude, 100%. And I want to. A little bit later on, I want to get into, like, the specifics of what you're doing to write $8,000 in a week. But I think it would be really insightful and helpful for a lot of people out there, because I know a good portion of our audience, maybe they're. They're still working a job, and they're trying to transition into life insurance sales. So can you kind of walk through, like, how did you go from, I'm managing a cleaning business, I have a family, I have kids that I have to take care of to taking that leap to now going full time in insurance sales, and then we can kind of talk about how it progressed from there. But first and foremost, I want to figure out, how did you go from working a job, and what did that. That transition look like for you?
It was kind of gradual at first, and then it just came out of nowhere, you know, to the not very happy side from my boss. But basically, you know, I'm working, and I'm thinking to myself, oh, I can do both. I can. I can work part time doing this and work part time doing that, and I would be looking at my numbers at the end of the week or at the end of the month, and I'm just like, this just isn't doing it. Like, I'm barely hitting the numbers I need to if that. And it just kept getting more and more frustrating, but with trying to be able to, you know, run here, come back, do the calls, maybe have to run back out, come back, do more calls, and it just got so, I guess, just so overwhelming that I had to make a choice. And at the time, I was talking with other people who were, you know, kind of training me, and they basically said, like, dude, you got to burn the ships. Like, if you want to have success in this, you have to be able to say, I'm going all in. And at that time, I, you know, thought about it for a weekend, and then that Monday, I called my boss and told him, like, hey, we got some changes coming. And from there, I just never looked back. It. And, you know, it's. It's obviously been a little bit of a challenge sometimes, starting out especially, but once you start to feel more comfortable and you're getting those repetitions in because you're doing so much, it just gets easier from there.
Yeah, 100%. And so you. How recently did you quit the job? I think it was last spring, Summer. Right. Okay. So you quit the job, you burned the ships, you went full and into insurance, and then what happened there? Like, what was the. What was the ramp up? Like, what were you doing for leads? Like, kind of walk us through what that, what that looked like.
At the time, I was. I was trying to generate my own leads and very novice at it. Didn't really know exactly what I was doing, and I was getting a little bit here and there, but, you know, I. I really knew nothing about marketing. And so. Yeah, so, you know, I. Trying to mix all of that in with also learning how to sell at the same time just really wasn't working the best for me. So, you know, I saw what you guys were doing, and around that time, at the end of summer, I believe it was, was when I decided to go ahead and take the next step with you guys. And it's really just been uphill from there. I mean. Yeah, like, it feels like everything I learned for about a year and a half before getting with you guys was all condensed into like a month's worth of work. And it all really started to seep in and stick the way that I needed it to.
Yeah, what. What do you mean by that? Like, what was condensed?
Just how well put together everything was through your program. It's just like, it's all there for you to learn. It's on you to learn it. But, you know, at the time I was, you know, still doing a little bit of cleaning and stuff, so I'm like, I'm gonna put this on in the background as I'm doing a job. I'm gonna learn everything that I can. Then when I get home, I'm going to implement. And you know, as. Even with setting up the machine and stuff like that, I would watch some of the videos on my way to my job. Maybe not like watching them, but listening to them. And that way I could get home and just bust it out super quick and get it done, implement it and move on. So, yeah, it was just really nice to have everything there ready to go. All you have to do is basically plug and play.
Yes, 100%. I. I can relate. Relate to what you're saying. Like, I just got back from the gym, and the whole time I was at the gym, like, I listen to music for a little bit, but most of it is I'll put on videos from courses or YouTube videos. And like, guys, if you don't have the ability to invest in yourself, I mean, there's literally. I mean, I'm not even going to guess, but there's got to be hundreds of millions of videos on YouTube that you can go through and Watch. You know, probably half of those are useless and not educational, but a good portion of them can, can teach you how to make multi six or even seven figures, just free content that's out on YouTube. So I think that's a huge thing that's contributed to your success, to be honest, is just like your consumption of information. And I think for anyone that's watching at home, I can say for me personally that has been probably the number one thing that has allowed me to progress like pretty fast is just my consumption and absorption of information. And like even like exactly what you're talking about. You don't have to be sitting down like taking notes all the time. There's a time and a place for doing that and there's certain videos that you should do that with. But even just like programming yourself and playing those videos in the background, man, that makes a huge difference.
Yeah, and I'm a huge believer in car university. Have you ever heard of that?
What is that? Car? Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
You're in the car, you're driving, you know, you have a 30 minutes, maybe an hour to like actually just take a moment to learn. And I've implemented that for a long time. And when it came to insurance, I'm like, I got to do this. You know, my future is, you know, relying on it. So yeah, being able to do that. But the one thing I'll say that really might help people out as well is that I was a big YouTuber. I'm going to go here and look at this guy's video and then there's this other guy saying this thing and it gets so convoluted and you know, you're, you're trying to do one thing one guy says here and then maybe you're trying the marketing on this side and, and there's so much going on and it's so hard to like think of exactly what to look for. The reason your guys course was so good was because it's all right there, it's so streamlined. It's just do this next thing, do this, do this, learn this and you don't have to sit there and try to make it all put on yourself to try to figure out what it is that you need.
Yeah, a hundred percent. Well, I appreciate that feedback. That's something that as we, you and I will talk about this after the recording's over, but as we kind of move more so into like building our agency and IMO and really opening the floodgates on that, that's something that I really want to have is like, you can come in from. Never sold insurance before and figure out how do you get your license and where do you go step by step by step by step. And then the different paths you like, I'm freaking pumped about it, which is why I'm bringing it up. But, yeah, that's. I think that's, that's, that's huge. And I appreciate that feedback. So at this point, you quit the job. How much are you selling in AP? Is this like the 8k a month territory or whatever? What are we talking about around this time? This is like June, July, August, I think.
June, July, August. When I quit my job, I was sticking more around, like, maybe five, six. I. I think I would hit seven on one of those months. But it went from, like, really struggling to maybe make, you know, maybe 5,000.
I'm sorry, like 5K in take home.
No. And AP sold.
Oh, okay.
Yeah. And. And it went from, like, really struggling to do that to just being able to see it on the regular. Something I could almost expect. And if I didn't hit those numbers, I was very upset with myself. Myself. But, yeah, it just. And not only was it that I was starting to expect it, it was that I could actually see the numbers growing.
Yeah.
So I could act. It's almost like I could track my growth through how much money I was making.
Yeah. Yeah, 100%. I mean, that's. That's kind of the way it goes. So doing 5k and then kind of walking through, like, the progression of. From summer, you leave the job. How do we get to where you are now? What did that. What did that journey look like?
So the main thing that I really focused on was script and rebuttals. And it was to the point where I was waking up at six o' clock in the morning and telling people to get in the zoom room at 7:00'. Clock. Because I want to take at least 30 minutes with somebody, anybody, and we just. Rebuttals, rebuttals, rebuttals the entire time. The script, you know, it was really good. But, you know, the thing that I realized about the script was that you have to have your own flavor to it. It can't just be a robot. You. You got to take whatever it is that you have and add it to the script. I realized that I'm a person who is very open. I want to help, and I can be a little funny sometimes, but I. I want to make sure that the person that I'm talking to knows that I'm there for Them. But I'm also not just going to take your crap. You know, we're going to get through this the way that we have to get through it, but I'm not going to just, you know, tear your arm off to do it. So let's make this fun. Let's make this a good thing for you instead of you just thinking you're talking to another salesperson.
Got it. A hundred percent. So like kind of taking a framework and then making it your own is it sounds like was a, was a big piece for you, particularly with the script.
Yeah. And the only way I was able to do that was to get comfortable with the script and the rebuttals first.
Yeah, 100%. I think so many people get into this, and this is something I have to give you a lot of props for is like people get into this and then they, you know, you saw it sounds like you had some kind of struggles early on. But most people, instead of doing what you did, they start to play the blame game. Right. And they'll blame the business, they'll blame the clients. And the most common one of all, I mean, I'll let you answer. What does every freaking agent blame?
The leads, dude.
The leads. Every time. So they don't accept any responsibility for their own success. And it's always the leads. It's always the leads. Right. And they'll go from lead vendor to lead vendor to lead vendor to lead vendor. And then they'll try self gen and they're like, oh, this is going to solve every single problem that I have. And then it doesn't. It helps a lot. And we can speak to that as well. But it doesn't avoid you from having to invest in your skill set. Right. And that's something that I have to give you a lot of props for, is like you are one of the biggest implementers and action takers in terms of actually investing into your skill set, working on the rebuttals, working on the script and really dialing that in. And I think honestly, if you hadn't have done that, no matter how good leads could have been or bad leads or whatever, you wouldn't have seen success without putting in that time and effort. And I don't think that's something that people speak enough to in the industry. What are your thoughts on that?
Definitely, you know, I, I'm a very big person on. You have to. I mean, I, I put so much blame on myself for things that, you know, it probably is actually bad for me in a lot of ways, but I'm, I'm very big and take action and everything is your fault, whether good or bad. So, you know, take the wins. But if it's, if it's a loss, you have to, you have to be able to acknowledge it and realize that there's something better you could have done. And if you have that mindset, then you're going to learn because you, you know that that's the only way to get better.
Yep, I agree. And I think, I think the, one of the commonalities between good agents is like, good agents can still sell on bad leads. Right. If you're not selling any policies or you're barely writing any business, it's not the leads, it's definitely you. Because, I mean, I was writing my. When I first got started in the business, I was doing 20. And this is not the brag, this is just the truth. I was doing like 20k a week driving and door knocking to people's houses that had sent in a mailer for a free Walmart gift card. I mean, like, it literally said, send this, check this box and send it back for a free Walmart gift card. And I was in a free lead program. There's a lot of people now that do free lead programs. Mine was not an actual free lead program because I was paying, I paid $5 per gift card, and I would give out the gift card at every house I knocked on. So they weren't even free leads. Right. But I was still selling 20k a month. But what happens when you get good leads is then you make more profit and your production increases, but it's not gonna take you from zero to doing what Kyle's doing now. Like, you have to already have the skillset. And like, if you, if we stopped working together today and you started buying aged leads, you would probably be less efficient and you'd probably like, make less money, but you would still make money.
Yeah, yeah, I, I would say. Yeah. I. It. It's all about being comfortable in what you're doing and, and kind of understanding how the cell is supposed to go. Yep, yep. And, and trying to get the right information for, for them in the right way.
100. 100. So, you know, it sounds like a lot, a lot of the, the success you're seeing now is coming from the hard work that you're putting in on the scripting and the rebuttals. Walk us through. What does it look like to sell? You know, the Exact number is 7911. I don't know if you have it down to the penny. But if you do, you're.
And 49 cents.
$7,911.49. What does it take? And what does a week like that look like? Like what time do you wake up? How many calls are you making a day? What does it actually look like?
Yeah, so I have been doing, basically getting up 6am, doing a little bit of self work and stuff. I call it the miracle morning. It's actually something you can look up on YouTube and it really helps start the day off right, get you in the right mindset, make sure your body's in a good place and stuff. I get my coffee, I come in, I fill out my tracking sheet from the night before and I get to it by 8, 8:30. And really what it looks like is I'm dialing for 50 minutes at a time. I take 10 minutes off to do whatever it is I need to do, whether that's go and just say hi to the family, give my daughter a kiss on the forehead and come right back to it, or grabbing something to eat, what have you. And I'm pretty much doing that from, you know, 8 o', clock, probably up to about 7 o' clock every day. And, and I might take maybe a half hour or an hour there just to have lunch and, you know, really sit down with the family for some real time. But yeah, I'm, I'm putting in lots of hours, but it doesn't feel like I'm working that hard. It's just repeating the process over and over again.
Got it, got it. So how many hours would you say you worked in the week where you sold 8k? $7,911.49 to be exact.
The weird part about it was that I actually worked less hours that really. And I think the reason for that was, was because I put in so much work at the beginning of the month that I was getting a lot of appointments that were set and everything like that. But also people I had follow, followed up with. And basically it was maybe one call away from being able to just put the deal in and following up with them. And I did make a couple of other sales in there from, you know, just my regular dials, but there was a lot of work done on the front end so that the back end was a lot easier.
How, how much do you feel like follow up plays into, you know, having big weeks like this and overall just, you know, being a successful agent? Do you feel like it has like a, a big impact, a small impact? What do you kind of think?
Yeah, I Mean, I don't care what anybody says. Like, anybody who sits there and says they make all of their money off of just, you know, one call closes like. Like, I don't know that it. That sounds a little bit out of my league. But I think the followup matters a lot. Ever since we started implementing this general list and hot list stuff and being able to keep track of all of the people that, you know, you've already quoted, everything's right there and good to go. And then f. Having a time of day, actually, for me, it's two times a day that I'll try to follow up with them again. Just that entire list alone. I've gotten probably at least two thirds of the money that I made in this month, this past month from follow ups.
Just from general lists and hot lists.
Yeah.
Wow.
Yep. It's just getting back to people, you know, getting them on the phone saying, hey, you wanted this thing, I got it here for you. Can we finish that up?
Dude, that's amazing.
Yeah, it really seems to help a lot just being able to keep track of that.
Yeah, dude. I mean, I. I don't understand, like, how people will try to run this business without having like a CRM or a system or anything. It could be ours or someone else's. Like, you just have to have a way to organize your people and say, like, stay in touch and in front of your prospects. Like a spreadsheet or a stack of pieces of paper, which is. That's how I got started was a stack of paper. New city every week. No follow up. No follow up at all? None.
I could not imagine.
The only, the only follow up we would do is if we talk to someone in the beginning of the week and then we talk to them again at the end of the week. That was the only follow up. So, like, it's just. I can't imagine doing that at this point. It's. It's wild. And people are still doing it and.
Yeah. And. And it's so crazy how much money you could leave on the table if you're not following up.
Like, and you're paying for those leads anyway.
Yeah. So it's a good idea to just keep track of, you know, every person that is right there on the edge. You just have to sometimes just remind them 100%.
So, 7,000 or let's just say we'll round up to 8,000, 8,000 for the week. How much did you spend on leads to do that?
For the month I had spent, or. I'm sorry, for the week. It was 4:88, 37.
Yep. Now, obviously some of those deals were from follow ups before the lead spend kind of compounds and so does the business. It's. But I mean, still in that single week, if we just take a snapshot of that week, that's like, what is that? Almost a 16x. My math is correct.
Yeah. And, and to be able to see that. And not only that, the lead spend itself, you know, updating your sheet every night and you look at how much each lead costs, you're just like, man, I'm, I am so grateful for that compared to the $20 leads I was buying when I first got in here, like.
Yeah, well, so obviously we've been working together for, for quite some time. For people that are watching this, like, what do you feel like are the benefits of, of our system? Like the lead cost, like, what do you feel like is. Has been the biggest thing that's helped you?
Definitely. Like, the, the steady leads are so awesome. Like, it's, it really helps to be able to wake up in the morning and see your CRM is just filled with new leads that you, you're going to get back to the. Looking at the lead costs and, and seeing just how low it can get. That's always really awesome. But outside of, you know, the leads and everything, it's definitely the training and, and, and the like I was talking about earlier, how well set up everything is to take you from zero to hero. You just, you do what's there. You don't try to over complicate it. You just add your own flavor to it and you're going to get somewhere. As long as you, you know, hit the numbers you're supposed to hit and, and you stick with the process, it's going to happen for you. So just super easy to be able to implement everything. The last thing that I'd say is some of the extras that you and Julian and Adam have really pushed forward like in the past couple of months, you know, the, the new leads, the, the niche method, the dialer, the extra way that you guys are setting up the Facebook leads to have some of the calls coming in and stuff like that. Yeah, it's. I haven't ever seen anybody else actually put that much effort into saying we're going to keep this moving, we're going to implement on and, and, and also change things over if it isn't working out the right way. You know, you guys are putting in a lot of extra work that is benefiting us in the long run. So it's really good to see that. It's not like you just put something out there and you're just relying on the same old stuff. You're. You're constantly innovating. So that's. That's really been awesome, too.
Yeah, man. Well, I appreciate it. I really appreciate it. It's been awesome working with you. And for those watching at home, what is. What is your lead cost? What are you paying per lead right now? Like, on average?
I think for the past, like, three weeks, it's been between three and four bucks a lead.
Three and four dollars a lead?
Yeah.
Dude, you're. You're definitely helping that average man.
I. I keep getting these notifications on my phone from Meta, and it's like your ads are doing 63 better. And it's like that, that notification every day for the past three weeks, like, all right, then it'll even say something like, oh, you could get this much better or this much percentage. I'm just like, nah, I'm good. I'm not even gonna touch this thing. Like, just let it keep going.
Yeah. Quick disclaimer, guys. Kyle is probably the lowest cost per lead client that we have, so don't expect three to four dollar leads. For whatever reason he is, he's Mark Zuckerberg special snowflake, and you're throwing. He's thrown Kyle a freaking deal on these leads. But our average client does pay, like eight bucks and something cents, and Kyle's definitely helping to bring that average down, I will say.
So it was there, like, you know, probably. I'd say in November was probably when I started to see it start to come down a little bit.
Yeah. After Black Friday and everything.
Yeah.
Makes perfect sense. Awesome, man. Well, for people watching this that are maybe thinking about jumping in, joining the program, doing the Legion, or working with us in some capacity, what would you say to those people?
I would say just take the leap. If you're looking for people who are going to actually help you along the way, they're going to provide all the tools, all the training, all the scripts, everything that you need to actually succeed in the business, just jump in. The worst you can do is, you know, sit there and not do it and then ask yourself why when you're still not making the money. So, you know, definitely at least get in there and try it out, because you're going to see the difference between this kind of training and other programs. As somebody who has been in other programs before, I can say that there's a reason I've stuck with you guys for so long.
Yeah. Well, I appreciate that, man. I appreciate that. For anyone that wants to reach out to you, what's the best way to contact you?
I mean, really. I have a. I have a YouTube channel, but it's not, you know, insurance related, so just a bunch of old rollerblading videos and stuff. I would just say that you could hit me up on Instagram too. Same thing as my YouTube. It's Guam Tech, so. G u a m te k and you can pretty much find that in most of the social medias.
Appreciate it. Kyle, thank you so much for coming on, man. I'm excited to see what comes next your way. And me too. 8k a week. I feel like it's just the beginning. All we got to do is keep this consistent, man. And we're gonna. We're gonna have another video in a month. About 35k in a month.
Let's see.
All right, gents, take it care. Take care and I'll see you guys soon.
