Up until just recently, you've been spending 40, 40, 40, 50, 50, 50, 80, 80, 80. And in total, this is about a thousand dollars in lead spend. Right. If we look here in terms of annual Premium, you've written $14,000 in annual premium over the last three weeks. So, like, a thousand dollars to write 14,000 is just absolutely insane. Ladies and gentlemen, what is going on? I got a very special guest here, Mr. Nate Jackson, who is new to the business, and I think in just his. In the last two weeks, he's been using this system for three weeks. He's had two weeks, one over 5K and $111 short of $5,000. Nate is on pace to have a $20,000 month, and I think just, what, your second or third month in the business? Yeah, yeah. So I think there's a lot that we can learn from this guy. He won't admit to it, but I'm gonna. I'm gonna say it. He's a freaking rock star. And so I wanted to bring him on the channel to talk about what he's doing, because I think there's a lot that we can learn from him. Nate, how's everything going?
Good, bro. Real good. Grateful to be here.
Absolutely. Well, I've been seeing you bomb the school group with quite a bit of sales over the last few week, few weeks. And I know obviously, we're scaling up goals to get you to a point where you're writing 40 or $50,000, but being on pace to write 20,000 is still no joke, I guess, for people that are watching this, can you kind of give them, like, a brief background on yourself and how you found your way into the insurance industry?
I can try.
I came from the. Most recently, I came from the real estate background. I was in real estate for the last two or three years in Texas, and just really felt like the part for where I'm at in this part of my life, I needed to be not bound to a particular state because I have family scattered out all over. And so I started looking for something I could do that would. Would allow me to make a decent living and not be tied to one spot. Yeah, I came across, you know, final expense sales, insurance sales. And that's where I started to consider learning it. I got involved with a different group. They. They are good, good people. Good stuff. But it just wasn't a really, really good fit, apparently, for me. And then I ran into you guys, and honestly, from man. I think I probably tried to come in a little bit skeptical and cynical, and you guys have Kept heard every step of the way. So I. I couldn't be more grateful. The. The support, the strength of the leads, the. The team, you know, that we have. That we were. The camaraderie, the support has just been really amazing. So, yeah, I found a home and I'm grateful.
Yeah, man. Well, it's. It's been great having you here. I know a lot of people are getting inspired by your early success. I know there's a. There's a long way to go in terms of where you want to go, and. And I know that, you know, honestly, unless something crazy changes, I know for a fact you're going to get there. It's just a matter of time. But for those that are watching, I mean, there's a lot of people that have been in the industry for a while, they've never written 5k in a week. They've never been on pace to write 20. What do you feel like has allowed you to have those results this early into being in the business?
I think, I hope it's because I'm trying to learn to listen and that, you know, that is what I was just sharing with you off screen a minute ago. I feel like.
I hope one of my greatest assets is to continue to learn. And in order to do that, you have to listen. And that goes for the. With the. With the lead and ultimately the client and as well, learning from you guys. So when I came in, I knew there was a ton I didn't know.
And so that's, you know, the time you guys have invested in me, I try to take that real serious. So I try to listen. I'm not perfect at it, as you know. I'm not the world's best at following everything to the letter, but I am trying to listen and to, you know, soak it in and to adapt and to change.
Yeah.
And I think. I hope that comes across even in my. When I'm working with clients with leads, I listen. And if I can help, I want to, and if I can learn and get better, I want to. So I think that's a big part of it. I don't know if that's all of it, but leads are good. There's a lot of pieces, but. Yeah, that's what I would say. I just listen.
Yeah. And touching on that. I know you mentioned that you tried a couple different systems. Like, have you. Had you bought leads before prior to being with us or had you. Okay, so, yeah, kind of walk me through, like, what. What were you doing for leads before? You know, you Started generating your own. I mean, obviously, I think what's your average cost is like under 10 bucks now.
Yeah. It. I don't. Again, I'm so new to the industry, I really can't come on here and say, well, let me tell you what's going on with the. With the, you know, expense life insurance world. I don't know.
Sure.
But I can tell you, my experience was. And I think from what I hear from other people, I think it's pretty common.
The answer is just to keep throwing money at it. And I just, you know, one. I didn't come with an unlimited budget, for one thing, which may have been. May have been. May have not helped me, but. But the other side was. It never felt like I was in control. It never felt like I could adjust myself or the leads or the. The marketing. I felt like I was out of control. And it. And frankly, I think that's what, you know, most of these folks like it. It's like you. You just keep throwing money and it'll all be okay. And for me, it just. I never saw. For me, I'm not. I don't have to have everything easy.
Yeah.
I'm not afraid of the hard work, But I have to see the light at the tunnel. Right outside the tunnel, I have to see it's there, and then I can work hard to get there. And where I was, the places I've tried, I didn't see it. Like, I. I wanted to see it. The sounds good, but for me, I'm like, I just can't. I can't. I see where the string goes, and I don't like it. Yeah. That's why when I came here, I was really honest with Julian. I was really honest with you, and you guys didn't run. You know, you were like, okay, let's do it. You're being honest with us. We'll help you. And from that day till this, it's been nothing but keeping your word. So I'm. I. Yeah, I'm super grateful. The cost alone is just. It's overwhelming when you have no control and it costs you a lot. Yeah, it's overwhelming.
And when you say you couldn't see the light at the end of the tunnel, like, was it just the cost per lead or maybe like. Like what. What specifically do you mean by that?
I think for me, it was more like I just couldn't see. I'm not afraid. In my mind, I'm not there yet, but in my mind, when I do maybe not get there, but when I get around this first few corners, I do anticipate that there'll be business costs to continue to. To scale. Yeah, I get. But for me, when I was looking at other people around me that were able financially to scale and there, it didn't look like it was proportional at all. Like, it felt like they were just throwing money at it. And proportionately they should have been doing this, and instead they were still doing this. And I. I couldn't see it. And in my mind, I'm like, even if I had the money, even if I had the experience, is that where I want to. Those. The. Is that the path I want to follow? And. Yeah. See it. I just couldn't.
I know you and I have talked. You're talking about people spending like $3,000 a week on leads or just something insane. What kind of AP would they write to spend 3k a week on leads?
You know, I saw myself if. I mean, I. Again, we weren't allowed to talk to each other, so I don't know about that.
Sure.
You know, based on what they posted. And the biggest hitters out there for these guys were pushing, you know, 40, 35 to 40, which again, is noteworthy. And it's. It's amazing. Yeah, it didn't reflect any more than that. They were doing that when they had a smaller budget, and then when they just threw the kitchen at it, they still didn't go up that much higher. And then again, all of a sudden, they just fall off the leaderboard. And I'm like, I. I don't know. It didn't. If, if it was all. If it was just about throwing the money at it, then. Then I was missing something because I just didn't see. I didn't see what they were doing. You know, can you, I guess, can you throw a ton at it if you had it? I guess. But it didn't feel like it was sustainable. It felt like got it overwhelmed.
So kind of just people spending more money and then not really seeing like a return. Basically correct.
In my opinion. And again, I'm not. I didn't. I didn't go sit with them and ask them their specifics. But yeah, the posts and the different things, it just seemed like it wasn't there. So.
Yeah. And I mean, I'll be honest with you, like, having been in the industry for. There's obviously people that have been in the industry for way longer than me, but in my time in the industry, it's a very common thing that you see where the answer from the upline, like, I mean, we we almost made like a. An ad.
On Facebook, like, targeting agents of like a song parody of Buy More leads do more dials. And it was just going to be this like, super country accent, like slapping the credit card on the table. Like, Buy More Leads do more. Like, it's so stereotypical that it's almost like it's funny. Like, it's not funny because a lot of people get screwed over, but it's just that prevalent that the answer is always more volume, more money. There's never anything else. It never gets any deeper than that.
So I think some of these teams have good. You know, they have great people, they have great, I guess even great leadership. But, yeah, I just. I don't know. I. To me, it was just not. I had to see it. And maybe I. Maybe that maybe I was needy. Right. I needed to be able to see at the end and see this is. If I go anywhere near there, that'll be me too. I can join that group or that. That in that list of people doing that. And. And it just wasn't something that I could see. So for me, I was like, I don't. Maybe either the business is not for me or I have jumped into the wrong. On the wrong train.
Yeah. And how do you feel? Like, I mean, obviously we've been working together for, I think, three weeks now. What has been, like, the biggest difference that you feel like is has put you in a better spot.
Wow.
I don't know how to say that in quick increments. I would just tell you honestly, I think the amount of investment that you guys have obviously put in before I ever showed up, and then certainly the investment you seem to. I don't know how you do it because you got a lot of people you work with, but it feels very much like. And I think everybody feels that way working in this team. Like, they're important and that takes great leadership to cause this many people to all feel like they're important. And that's what you do. You. That's what you and Julian do. So I'm. I think that's probably the biggest thing. I never have felt one day like it was, drink this Kool Aid and you'll be fine. Spend this money, you'll be fine. You know what I mean? I never felt that way from day one. I felt like it was business. And, yeah, you're not there yet, but if you will follow this instruction, you will help you get there. And for me, and maybe there's other people, like, they don't need that, but for Me, it was perfect. It was a good fit. Just let me. I don't need to be micromanaged. I just got to be taught. Taught and. And given a little bit of leash, you know what I mean? Let me run. And I think that's what you guys do, and you do it really well.
Yeah, Well, I appreciate that. And you've been a freaking pleasure to work with, man. Like, I love when I get to work with someone that's just so coachable because, you know, I feel like I have, like, a pretty good understanding of how the business works. And I feel like in general, right. I'm not like, I don't know everything, but I feel like I give pretty decent advice. So to see someone, like, take that and just run with it has just been awesome. And I mean, the results speak for themselves with the amount you're spending. Right. And we can kind of look at these numbers here. Do you mind if I share my screen? I show the. And show your number tracker.
Awesome. Because this is something guys that I think is, like, super important that you don't see often in the industry is like actually tracking the numbers. Can you guys all see this? Can you see this? Nate? This is your sheet, right? I have a lot of these.
Yes.
Yep. You got your name there. So up until just recently, you've been spending 40, 40, 40, 50, 50, 50, 80, 80, 80. And in total, this is about $1,000 in lead spend. Right. If we look here in terms of annual Premium, you've written $14,000 in annual premium over the last three weeks. So, like, the numbers here, and I think some of this may be age leads, but I believe most of this is from the new leads you're getting. Correct?
For sure.
Yeah. A thousand dollars to write 14,000 is just absolutely insane. And we'll blur out all these names here whenever the. The video is shown. By the way, looking at the weeks, I mean, $2,160 spent on leads.290 on leads 5 over 5K and AP.470 on leads 490 and AP. I mean, there hasn't been a week where you haven't at least 10x what you spent on leads in terms of annual premiums.
So, I mean, part of this is definitely the leads, dude, but you are freaking hustling, man, on the phones. Like, how many dials a day are you making on average? And like, what is your. What is your average, you know, work workflow look like on like a day to day basis?
Probably. I don't know. I've had again, like, Yesterday, you know, I go into the day thinking I'm gonna make at least 300 and not been too many. I think for a little while there. I, when I was first jumping in with you guys, I think I was trying to push, you know, to at least 200 dials, usually a little more and sometimes upwards of 250, 280. But realistically, like yesterday I came in hoping to do at least 200 and.
I don't know if you may want to edit this, but we just made the jump on the, on the leads, right on the ad, spend a little bit and yeah, man, over the weekend it, my, the lead flow was like whatever that thing showed. It was like 26 or eight leads. Like it was for, for what I'm used to, it was pretty crazy. And literally going through those took most of my day. So there was never really. I had a couple of things to fix, not with those, but with my old stuff and got those resolved and then jumped in with the new leads and it literally took all the rest of the day. So I think just calling through. Yeah, I think my total, I mean I was double dialing most of those guys to be able to reach them. And I think, I think we had I don't know, 60 or 80 dials for the day, which it's not a lot obviously, but it was, Was that.
An eight hour day you were just talking shade over?
I mean I think I started. I was probably on the phones by 8 and I was probably done by 6:30, something like that. So. Pretty, pretty.
You just have a bunch of follow up from yesterday or what? Like what kind of went into that?
Yeah, yeah, mostly, mostly follow up and again the fresh leads, trying to contact them. And then I had some appointments that I had set from the previous week, so I had two or three of those and it just kind of took the oxygen out of the day. But yeah, you know, it worked. So as long as. And that's, that's the whole thing to me is it just. I'm not afraid of the work. I just, I just needed to be able to see the light. And I feel like I do. I feel like it's good. It's good.
Cool man. Well, good strong work for, for an agent watching this, I guess what would be like one piece of advice you would give to someone, you know, kind of just starting out.
Wow.
Start right, start, start with the right group. The other I think is just to. I think you have to have a. I think if you, if, if it's possible, it probably is to make it where I've been. I think you have to be heavily funded. So if you're not heavily funded, I think you have to be with a group that will.
Absolutely help you accelerate, you know what I mean? And get the best out of every day till you're there. Yeah, and I think that's. I, I would tell anybody that asks, I don't have anything bad to say about the people or where I worked before. I just know for me again, there's some, man, there's some monsters that do really well in that environment. But I, for me, I couldn't get there. So for me, maybe that's, you know, good or bad, I don't know. But for me this was the, this was the fit, right? This was the, the just enough room, just enough liberty, just enough training and then a lot of support in the backside. It was good and it has been good.
So awesome, man. Well, I'm excited to see where we go from here. I'll let you get back on the phones because I know you probably got a lot of leads to call and a lot of follow up to do. You've been on calls with me for the last, I guess, hour and a half, almost two hours. So I'll let you get back to work. And thank you guys for watching the video. We'll see you soon.
Absolutely appreciate it.
