Timothy Schucker shares four tactics to make cold calling less painful: count down instead of up to feel progress, calculate dollars per dial to gamify it, set minimum daily deal commitments, and visualize your income goal as a gold mine you're mining.

I tricked myself into loving cold calls. And here's how number one is countdowns instead of counting up. 1, 2, 3, countdown, 99, 98, 97. When you do this, it's gonna make you mentally feel like you've left your job undone if you've only got 15 calls left versus if you've already made 150 calls. Number two is dollars per dial. It's okay to gamify this business, guys. If you calculate how many phone calls it takes for you to make a sale and you know your average AP per sale, you can actually find out how much you're getting paid per dial. And once you do this, it's a lot easier to make an $8 dial single time. Number three is deal commitments. If you set a bare minimum on yourself, like one deal a day, two deals a day, three deals a day, you're going to easily be able to hit that because you won't leave the day until the work is done. And number four is to set income goals. If I told you to swing a pickaxe 150 times every single day to hit a gold mine worth $100,000, how soon would you want to swing that pickaxe 150 times? Because as soon as you get to that number of swings, you're going to hit that 100k goal. You comment below, tell me which one is your favorite. I want to hear.
