This SIMPLE Trick Will Cut Your Lead Cost By 40%

Timothy Schucker shows insurance agents how video ads cut lead costs 30-40% compared to photo ads. He breaks down video types, shares examples like Brian Armsey's construction-targeted VSL pulling term leads at $7-8 each, and covers hooks, captions, and scripts that work.

How to generate your own leads and how to get leads for a 40% off discount every time. Now, if that sounds too good to be true, I understand why. It's probably because your lead vendor is stealing money out of your back pocket every time you go and buy from them. But this is actually about not only how to get 40% off of leads that are already marked up from a lead vendor, but how to get 40% off of leads that you are already generating yourself. And this is something that we've kind of been testing over the past few weeks. I had a feeling it was gonna work, but I didn't wanna speak too soon. So we kind of, you know, held back on this. But the results are in and the results are staggeringly in favor of this method. And so I wanted to share it all with you guys. We're already starting to roll this out within people that are doing the Done with yous and people that are in the Mastermind. But I wanted to roll this out to the group as well. In today's live training, we're gonna be talking about how to get a 40% discount on every single lead that you generate from this day forward. Again, I'm not talking about 40% off from leads that you buy from a vendor because those are already marked up. I'm talking about if you're paying 10 bucks a lead from Facebook for term leads, I'm going to show you how to get them for six. Okay, this is huge. So basically there's two different types of ads on Facebook mainly, right? We have video ads and we have photo ads. So most of what we've taught in our program, in our course, most of what we've covered in these live trainings and everything have been these photo ads, right? And so I have a couple bullet points that talk about each of them and kind of the differences with photo ads, right, they're super easy to start with. I mean you can make them on Canva in about five minutes. You guys have seen me do that multiple, multiple times. But you can also, you can hide behind the ad, right? So let's say, you know, maybe you're, you're a little bit camera shy. You don't like to be, you know, in the spotlight, you don't want to be front facing for your brand. So you can kind of hide behind the ad. But also the photo ads, they're super cheap and they're very easy to make. So, so you can make them on Canva really quickly. You can use the pre made ones that we, that we already have in the course. You can also hire us to do photo ads for you and write copy and all that kind of stuff. But the problem is other agents can very easily copy you. So as I've shown multiple times in the course, and I believe I've shown that in the, in the group here, there's something called the ads library where you can literally just go and see what other people are running. So if somebody sees your photo ad, they can just take a screenshot of it and that is now their photo ad to look. So I just grabbed this photo ad. Now I can go and I can run it on my own account. So that's the problem, right? It's super easy to copy. Anyone can steal your ad. They still work, right? I mean, photo ads definitely still work. But what we're going to talk about today is video ads, right? And what's crazy is these have generated a 30 to 40% lower cost per lead. We're seeing term leads, niche term leads, like in a, in a specific niche for lower than the cost of a final expense lead, which is insane. Also with a video ad, it's going to increase the trust and your, your authority as an insurance agent. So it's the same kind of thing where like, it's the TV effect now it's like the social media effect. So if somebody sees you on social media on an ad, they immediately think that you're official and you know what you're talking about. And also, whenever they hop on the phone with you, they've seen you pitching them in the ad. So now they know, hey, this is the person I'm going to be talking to. Right? It's huge. In addition, it also builds your personal brand. So let's say you're running in like a local area or something and you're doing face to face. If they see your ad over and over and over again on Facebook when you knock on their door, they're not going to think you're some, you know, psychopath, right? They've seen you, they know that you're, you're legit. And then, I mean, shoot, you might even get recognized in public. I don't know if you want that, but you'll probably find some more policies from doing that. But it's going to build your personal brand as an insurance agent. The downsides is it kind of requires a little bit of sales ability to create. I would describe your video ad as the salesperson that never takes time off and knows, you know, never gets sick, never goes to sleep because they are pitching on Facebook for you. 24, 7, 3 freaking 65. Right? You are out there. You're. It's the ultimate way of leveraging yourself because all you got to do is film it once you run that ad. And then at any time of day, somebody can see you pitching them on life insurance on Facebook, and you can generate leads for that lower cost while, you know, increasing that brand authority and trust. So with video ads, you do need a script to film this. You don't really want to just, like, free ball it, to be honest with you. It's best if you have a script that you're following or at least like a structure. If you're good at kind of coming up with things on the fly, then you could do it without a script. But for the majority of people, they like to use a script. So video ads, we do usually recommend having a script, but the great thing is they're nearly impossible to replicate. So if I'm an insurance agent that wants to generate my own lead, and I go to the ads library, and I see Julian's running a video ad of himself talking about why people should buy life insurance from him, I can't really copy that ad because then I would just be running ads on my own account with his face, his name, pitching people on why they should buy life insurance from him. Doesn't really make a ton of sense. So the ad is. It's harder to replicate. People can't really steal your work because once the ad is, it's. It's tailored to you, it's specific to you, and it's specific to your audience. So I have here, this is an example of a video ad that we made that performed extremely well. I'm going to show you guys the ad, and then later on, we're going to kind of break down why it works, and we're going to break down, like, the anatomy of this video. So this is. This is super valuable. This is actually one of the ads that we made for our clients. He's getting leads for about seven to eight bucks a pop. These are term leads specific to one niche.
I've been in construction for over 25 years, and if you've been in construction for any amount of time, you know, just about anything can happen on the job. Early on, I realized just how dangerous our jobs can be. First big job site I was on, three weeks in the business, we had a crane failure right at the end of the day. Almost killed me and 10 of my co workers. Two hours after I got home, still shook up from what happened. On the job. My grandfather passed away right in front of me from a long battle with cancer. Three years later, another crane failure, this time killed an iron worker. His wife and nine kids were left with nothing. I tell you this not to scare you, but to help prepare you. After being in the industry and witnessing accidents happen on and off the job, friends and co workers passing away so suddenly, I've made it my mission to help tradesmen like you protect your families. I specialize in helping construction workers get up to employ million dollars in life insurance to protect their families from financial disaster with no medical exams and no blood work required. That way, in case something does happen and you don't make it home, your family can still put food on the table and the house payment can still be made. Construction workers of all trades. I'm here to help you. I know what it's like. I've witnessed it happen in my own life. Do the right thing. Click Learn more down below to fill out the short survey and see how much coverage, coverage you can qualify for. It's a quick and simple process. My name is Brian Armsey. Let's work together to protect your family today.
So yeah, guys, I mean that's, that's an example of what a video ad looks like. Whenever somebody hops on the phone with Brian, they know who they're going to be talking to. They're in his niche, they feel like he gets them. It's going to be much easier to convert those clients into a sale. But also, I mean, you see that out on Facebook, the first three seconds has nothing to do with life insurance. But check this out, guys. This is what we call a scroll stopper shop. Anybody that's in construction, they see somebody, you know, doing some construction stuff on Facebook. And if you've ever seen like there's, there's a lot of people that will watch like car crash compilations. It's like the same thing. But this was like construction fails. So it's a very engaging first three seconds. Like, I mean, you watch this and you're like, yo, what's going to happen?
Boom. Right into the pitch. So that's the hook of the video. And then he goes into telling a story. Anyone that does construction is going to be able to relate to that and they're going to want to, you know, click, learn more and fill it out to request more information. So that's the power of video ads. That's kind of just an example so that you guys can see what we're going to be talking about later on in this Video. But there's a couple different types of video ads, and I'm going to cover those real quick here. So the first one we have is video sales letter, which is. There's a personal video sales letter. That's the one that we just showed you. This is going to be a video where you read a script explaining why the lead needs to fill out a form requesting information on life insurance. And it is you filming yourself. This personally brands you. They know they're going to be talking to you. They're excited to talk to you, and you seem like an expert. Then we have a video sales letter, like a generic video sales letter. I've seen a lot of these with solar. I haven't really seen these with life insurance as much. But this is kind of just where, like, you could either hire a narrator to read it. You'd have, like, stock footage going on in the background. This can work, but it's more like it's kind of scammy when you see it. You've probably seen these for, like, gold bars, like buying gold bars or something on YouTube. It's usually like. Usually it comes across as pretty sketchy, but it definitely works. The personal video sales letter is much easier to make. But the, like, generic one, where it's just like stock footage and a narrator reading over it, these are still possible to do, and they definitely still work. And then the last one I'm going to cover here is a testimonial ad. You could honestly tie in a testimonial with your video sales letter once you get them. But the testimonial ad is a video of one of your previous clients talking about how you help them and, you know, help their family. And this is great for building trust and social proof. So what I would recommend all of you who are doing this to do is start hitting up your past clients and collecting video and written testimonials. You know, obviously video is preferred if they can send you a video, but if they can't, then I would. I would ask them to just write you a testimonial and send you a photo because you want to be racking these up. This makes it a lot easier to close deals and a lot easier to get leads. So those are the three main types of video ads. So I have a couple different examples of video ads, and I'm going to show you guys these videos and then we're going to talk about why they work. Some of these are life insurance specific, some of these are not. But we'll talk about each and every Single one of them. So this first one here, this one is not that great. I'm going to be honest with you. The structure of it is solid. And the guy. Guy who's doing it is. He sounds very confident reading the script. I think he did a pretty good job overall. But the problem is the video is not very engaging. There's no text over it. There's no captions. So if somebody sees this with their sound off, they're going to have no idea what the hell you're talking about. They're probably just going to scroll past and there's no hook. So I'm going to show you this, but this will kind of give you an idea of what it would look like to film a video.
Hey, everybody, it's Brian Power, your agent for life.
Just want to stop right here, though. We're three seconds in, and I have no intention of watching the rest of the video. Only reason I'm watching it is to show you. So he starts it off. He's like, hey, everybody, Terrible way to start a video. If this guy's in the group, which there's a. Maybe there's 600 of you guys. So there's a possibility that he is. I'm not coming for you, bro. But we can definitely make a better video for you. So hit us up. But basically, the hook is garbage. There's no attention being grabbed. It's just, hey, everybody, this is blank, blank, blank. Your agent for life insurance, really weak. Whoever gave him the script should probably be fired anyway. We'll continue. Watch the video.
Life insurance. You know, there's so many people who have questions about life insurance, and they're looking for a great policy, and they just don't know exactly where to go to get one. Now, as an independent agent, I actually work with some of the best companies around the country, and I'd be happy to find you a great policy. If that's what you're looking for, then all you need to do is visit my website right now and get on my calendar. Let's find out two things. Number one, whether or not you could benefit from a life insurance policy. Number two, whether or not we'd like to work together. That's it. So visit my website right now. Get on my calendar. I look forward to speaking with you, becoming your agent for life insurance shorts.
So I'm gonna. I'm gonna kind of touch on a couple different things. So. He sounds very confident pitching it. That's a. That's a big pro here. The downside is there's no Hook, there's no reason for me to hit him up. He's kind of just like, we could find you a great policy, you know? You know what I'm saying? Like, there's no desire, there's no pain, point being touched on. And there's no. There's nothing new or sexy about this video. Whereas with Brian's video, the one we showed you guys earlier, granted, both of these guys names are Brian, but with the first video we showed you, there's a story and there's a reason he's telling his story. Hey, this is, you know, this is what happened to me. I've been in construction for this many years. If you've been in construction, you know, anything can happen, right? So there's a tie in. Hey, I work a dangerous ass job. If I die, my family's left with nothing. Let me hit this dude up because he gets me and he has the same job as me. He probably could help me get a life insurance policy to protect my family. Whereas this guy's just saying, like, hey, like, granted, this dude probably got some leads from people that were like, begging to get life insurance. Like, they already knew they wanted it, and maybe they saw his video and clicked on it. But he's not convincing anybody to, you know, fill out this form. But again, not a bad example, but could definitely be improved quite a bit. So if this guy is in our Facebook group, definitely hit us up. We will hook you up, brother. So now the second one. This is actually. This is still insurance. This is a solid ad. This produced a ton of leads, but this is with car insurance. So let's watch it.
See, this is why I don't take the insurance from the dealership.
Pause. All right, that's a solid hook. This is why I don't take the insurance from the dealership. Okay, well, you know, the first question I'm asking is, what is he talking about? Why doesn't he take the insurance from the dealership? And you can see he's very serious about what he's talking about. And he has energy.
This is why I don't take the insurance from the dealership.
And he's moving, right? He's walking out of his door. I'm like, okay, what is this dude about to show me? So let's. Let's continue through the video. Look at this.
That's my car, 2013.
He's talking fast. There's high energy. He's showing us different things. It's not just his face. Let's. Let's continue.
BMW 5 Series. Super reliable and never had any issues with it. But I was paying a little over $132 a month. But if you think that that's fair, that's my buddy's car. 2018 Tesla Model X. He's only paying $73 a month. I called my insurance inside, said, hey, y' all gotta do something about this. They said they couldn't do anything. So I took it into my own hands. All I did was I found this website. I entered some basic information, like the year, I put in the make, the model. But since I already did this, I'm gonna just show you what I ended up with. $57 a month. That's comprehensive collision, full coverage. And it literally only took, like, a few minutes. Share this with a friend or just use it for yourself. But I put the same link that I use below.
And so as you can see, this video, it's almost framed as a testimonial. So this guy is, like, talking about this. You know, you feel like he's sharing some kind of secret with you. Like, hey, you know, this is. This is this website that I found where my car insurance got reduced by a lot. So this is. This is a really solid video. It feels very organic and very real. And then also it's kind of like. It seems like a post that someone would just put on Facebook. And it's like, oh, by the way, if you want to, you know, figure out how to do this for yourself, click the link in the description. So I think there's definitely. There could definitely be, like, room to make a similar video with this kind of a style for life insurance. It would. I guess the video would be more about, like, how to reduce your rate or, hey, this guy's overpaying. You could get, you know, life insurance for this amount. But a very solid ad overall. Now, these next two are from a guy who I've posted an example of one of his videos before in this group. This was very early on when we had, like, 20 something members or maybe even less. But this is one of the best hooks I have ever seen for life insurance ever. Okay, are you guys ready for this? Because this is. This is freaking solid. Okay. Both of these videos have the same hooks, but they're kind of, like, different. It's a different, like, script and a different setting for each. But this guy has generated so many leads that he's now a lead vendor and sells leads to other people because he can't even work them all. So I think I've. I've kind of built this up enough. I'm going to show you guys what it looks like. How many of you guys have seen this dude on Facebook before? You've probably gotten hit with, with some ads from him trying to sell you leads. I would. I would not be surprised if you have.
Watch me explain the power of life insurance in 12 simple words. If I die too soon, my newborn son is a millionaire. It's that simple. It does not matter if you and your family grew up in poverty and all the sad stories that we had to go through. Guess What? As of 2021, we had the education. Education and the opportunity to use the power of life insurance to create multi generational wealth for our families beyond what we can see today just simply by betting on ourselves was something that is guaranteed.
Even though he doesn't have a call to action. This just because the hook is so strong and the concept of what he's explaining is so powerful. This video has gotten a ridiculous amount of leads. I believe he's still running it to this day. So let's talk about why it works. Well, for one, life insurance is one of those things that everybody knows about. A lot of people kind of like they half think they need it, but they're too lazy to do anything about it. But the way that he explains it is so perfect and so relatable to the common consumer that it just works. If I die too soon, my newborn son is a millionaire. 12 Words perfectly explains life insurance. And it gets you thinking, right? I was actually. It's funny, I was scrolling through Instagram a few days ago and there's always like, with an ad, there's usually one or two, like, phrases or like concepts that just get you. And so I have a dog. Julian has a dog. You guys probably have seen the picture in the Facebook group. But basically, if you think, like, the food that we feed our dogs is so terrible for them. And I saw this ad for like natural dog food where it's basically like real food instead of the processed garbage that we feed our dogs. And there was one line in the ad that just really stuck with me, and it reminds me of the 12 words to explain life insurance. And it said no living thing should eat processed food for every single meal of their life. And like, that line right there is comparable to what this dude just said. It's so powerful. And it explains exactly what the product is and the benefit of it and why you need it. And, you know, a very simple way that anybody can understand. So let's look at the second example again. This is like basically the same video, but the same hook, but just a different video. This time he's talking about his daughter.
Watch me explain the power of life insurance in 12 simple words. If I die too soon, my newborn daughter is a millionaire.
Right?
It's that simple. It does not matter if we grew up in the hood or all the sad stories we had to deal with in 2022. We now had the resources, the knowledge and tools such as life insurance so that we can leave multi generational wealth to our family. So life insurance is so important so we can change our last names.
That's huge, right? So obviously it works for the exact same reasons as the first video that we just showed you. But these are some examples of video ads, so this should get your gears turning. Now for this last little bit, I'm going to show you guys like the anatomy of a vsl, like the structure of it. And so that way, you know, you guys can create one for yourself and implement this in your own ads and get a 40% lower lead cost or lower. So the first part is obviously the scroll stopper. This is like the first three to five seconds of the video. This is the hook. We want to capture their attention. And this is by far the most important part of the video. Then we're going to talk about the problem. You know, we're going to kind of explain what the issue is. Introduce that then. And this is, this is one type of vsl. Obviously this structure would usually work with a longer video. When we do like a 90 second ad, which is typically what works best, like a minute, 30 seconds, we kind of compress this all and just like stack it into a smaller amount of time so some of these pieces can get cut out. But this is like the basic structure. So then you talk about your track record, who you are, why they should listen to you, how you can help them. Case studies is people who you've helped in the past. And then you talk about the old way. You know, this would kind of be where the guy's name that I just showed you is Prince, where he's talking about. It doesn't matter about the sad stories or you know, growing up in the hood. That's the old way. What they're currently doing or what they used to do or what their family's history is. And then you introduce, introduce the new way, right? With life insurance you can leave multi generational wealth with 2020. In 2022 we have all the tools and then you just close, right? And that's basically just the call to Action, Action. Now I'm going to kind of go a little bit deeper on all of this. This last little section here, this is actually straight from our course, the $0.77 course that we offer. If you guys are interested in that, just drop a comment down below in this chat and we will drop you guys a link to that. But this is straight from the course. So if you guys like this, we have an entire course that goes more in depth into all these concepts. This is just what we include about the vsl, but we have everything about running the ads, creating the ads, how to run Facebook. We give you guys eight different methods for, for ads and lead generation. So really valuable course. Ton of people have found value from it. I don't want to turn this into a pitch fest, but if you guys are interested, just drop a link down below or drop a comment down below and we can send you guys the link anyway. So the hook again, this is the first five seconds of your video and this really determines if somebody is going to watch your ad or not, right? The hook is, you know, the desired transformation your prospect wants or what your niche truly desires, right? It doesn't always have to be that. For example, you guys saw like the construction fail hook, but the goal is basically to catch their attention, right? It's a scroll stopper. So when they're scrolling through Facebook, okay, I'm going to stop and watch this. It's worth my time. So an example of a strong hook would be like, in the next 30 seconds, I'm going to show you how to protect your family with life insurance without ending up in the poor house and spending half of your Social Security check. Then we're going to talk about the problem, right? We're going to describe the alternative options or their present style. You're going to pour salt into the wound. So the example of the problem is like what they're currently doing or what will happen in the future if they don't take action. So an example of that would be the thing is, if you don't have any life insurance currently, your family could be set back for generations. That's powerful. Then you can talk about your track record, right? How did you get where you are? What's your reasoning for doing what you're doing? Why are you giving away this free value? The selfish reasons why you're giving this away for free. Because like, if you ever seen the movie eight Mile, we have an ice cream truck passing in the background if you guys hear that music. But if you've ever seen the movie 8 Mile, where Eminem like basically talks about all of his flaws. That way his opponent can't attack him. It's like the same thing. For example, well, why am I giving this away for free? Well, if you guys watch this training and find value from it, you're going to start using my methods, generate your own leads. Then you're going to comment in the Facebook group, you're going to start, you know, selling policies on the leads you generate. Going to get out of a freaking camping chair. And then once you guys, you know, make some sales, you're probably going to buy my other products, right? So that would be like the selfish reasons why am I giving this value away for free. So an example of this would be like, my name is Julian Polito, I'm a licensed insurance broker in North Carolina who's helped hundreds of my clients save thousands of dollars on insurance. Then can loop back to some case studies. This proves your point beyond a reasonable doubt. Because now they know that other people have done this and have seen success from it proves to your audience that you, you are the best or only option for them to realize their desired transformation. An example of this would be like how I saved my client Sherry $500 per year just by giving her a free policy review. Or got My client John $5,000 in additional coverage for $30 less per month just by taking a look at his policy. Then we can talk about the old way. This is what they used to do or what they're doing currently and why it doesn't work anymore. So after they watch your vsl, they should have this idea stuck in their mind whenever they try to do the old way, that it just doesn't work. So example is you can do it the old way. You know, go buy life insurance off a TV, never read the fine print, and pay 10 bucks a month. Then after years, after a few years, your premiums go up to $300 a month and you're left there scratching your head, claiming that insurance is a scam. Then you can introduce the new way, right? This is what you are ultimately pitching them. Explain the new way, why it works, give reasons as to why it's so much better than what they're currently doing. So an example of this would be, or you can work with a licensed broker like me who will shop the market for you. I'll match you with the best plan you can qualify for, one that never goes up in price, is active. From the moment you pay your first premium and even builds cash value, then this is what you guys are the best at, or at least I hope you guys are the best at. You just close, right? You call them to take action. So, example would be. So take my short survey down below to see if you qualify and I'll reach out to you personally to help you fortify your retirement. And that is the structure of a vsl.
