Why Your Secretly Customers HATE You… (Vlog #14)

A short vlog monologue arguing that most businesses mistreat customers by being reactive rather than proactive. The speaker contrasts highly proactive service (e.g., Chick-fil-A) with poor but unavoidable services (e.g., Facebook or utilities), arguing companies must either build indispensable products or provide proactive customer care to succeed.

You gotta stop treating your customers like shit. Here's why. So when I say you're treating your customers like shit, what I mean is, like, you're not. Doesn't. Even if you have, like, decent customer service, you're still treating them terribly. And the reason what I mean by this is essentially think about the. The companies and brands that you like, really enjoy buying from. The first one that comes to mind is like Chick Fil A, for example. So Chick Fil A has amazing service, right? They don't just have good customer service. They don't just respond, but they're proactive. Like, they go out of their way to, you know, make sure that you have the best experience possible. And as you can see, they're one of the. Not only one of the most beloved, but also one of the fastest growing restaurant chains in the world, right? Specifically the US but in the world as well. Now think about another company that you maybe buy from but don't really like as much. Like Facebook, right?
But the difference is Facebook's customer service is dog. It's absolutely terrible. But you have to. You have to give them money because they're running your ads. So you have basically two options. If you. You basically have two options, right? You can either have a product that everyone cannot live without, like your utility company or the dmv. Right? People have to go to the dmv, but the customer service is dog shit. Or.
Why, like Internet? Like, you have to have these utilities. You have to run ads on Facebook. You don't really have a choice there. You can either have that type of product, which is extremely hard to build, or.
You can just have good customer service and go over and beyond to build that relationship with your customers. So if you look at Chick Fil A, for example, they have a Chick Fil A sandwich. They have a sandwich. A chicken sandwich, right? It's the exact like it may be it tastes better, but there's a million chicken sandwiches out there. The reason that people like Chick Fil? A so much is because they care so much about their customers that they not only try to make their product the best, but they also are proactive with making sure that their customers are happy. And so I realized this because basically, and I'll just let you guys know, like, the way that I kind of do business is I give a lot of value on the front end. I'm more of like a marketing and sales guy, and I like the product stuff, but I. I like marketing and sales. I like getting. Getting acquisitions, and I kind of have to like, hype myself up to go and, like, respond to clients, which I think most people probably are like that. And so what I realized is I had a lot of these people that were like, fans of us, fans of what we do, fans of different things that we offer. But then on the back end, they just weren't. It's not that they were getting bad service, but they weren't, like, getting great service. Like, they weren't wowed. It was just like, oh, yeah, this is good. This is okay. And so I started calling through my existing clients and just kind of, like, checking up on them, seeing how they're doing. And I realized how. How much work I need to do because just by making that initial phone call, I was able to find extra business and find extra money just from calling, like, five people. And I have, like, 70 clients to call through. So my point being, right, you gotta stop treating your customers like shit. And it's not that you're treating them poorly. You're just not being proactive and you don't care about them enough to reach out. And so, to sum this video up, you either have two options. Make a product that everyone has to consume or have such good customer service that they don't even have to ask the question because you've already answered it. And if you do that, no matter what you sell, people will come to you and buy from you. So, that being said, thank you guys so much for watching this video.
