Tim Bell finding properties 5

Tim Bell advises real estate investors to pass out business cards to everyone they know and meet, introduce themselves as a "real estate investor" (rather than giving their day-job), and use these interactions to start property-related conversations and referrals. He also argues that repeatedly identifying as an investor trains your subconscious to behave more like one, reinforcing investor-oriented actions.

The next one, pass out your business cards to everyone you know and everyone you meet. Now, this is an extremely powerful strategy. If you don't have business cards, well, you need to get some. Okay, we'll talk about that a little bit later on. You need to get some business cards, and then I want you to pass them out to everyone you know and everyone you meet. Now, when you pass them out, when you meet new people, often the conversation comes around to what do you do for a living? That's a very common question people ask, right? So when it comes around to that, you reach in your pocket, you pull out your business card, you hand them your business card, and you say, I'm a real estate investor. Yes. Now, here's the thing. Think about this. For the most part, will you make more money if when you meet a new person, you introduce yourself and they ask you about your employment and you tell them about your current day job, will you make more money? Most of the time you won't. Okay, you just won't. But you can make more money by telling people you're a real estate investor. It's a really important thing. So when you hand them your card and say, I'm a real estate investor, you're starting a real estate dialogue with them. And they may know someone or be someone or have someone who you may be able to do business with. For example, you hand them your card, say, I'm a real estate investor. And they say, oh, you know my cousin Mike, he's been trying to sell his house for a while, but. But it's kind of run down and beat up, so he's having trouble selling it. Really? Yeah. Did they just tell you about a great fix and flip? Yeah, they probably did. Again, have them introduce you to their cousin Mike. Now, when you pass out your business cards, two really, really good things happen. Number one, you start a real estate conversation with that other people, that other person or those other people, which gives you an opportunity to do business with them. Okay, that's the first thing. There's a second benefit to passing out your business cards and telling everyone you're a real estate investor. See, as you pass out your business card and say, I'm a real estate investor. I'm a real estate investor. I'm a real estate investor. Here's what happens. Your subconscious mind hears your conscious mind telling people that you're a real estate investor. And what happens is after a while, your subconscious mind says, he keeps telling everybody, we're a real estate investor. I guess we must really be one and then all of a sudden, your subconscious mind causes you to automatically act like a real estate investor without even thinking about it. Again, a big leap for you and can be very valuable and helpful for you. So please pass out your cards, let everyone know that you're a real estate investor. You can do lots of business that way.
