Short educational segment explaining vaginal Community State Types (CSTs) 1–5: which Lactobacillus species dominate each type, associated health implications (CST1: L. crispatus — healthiest; CST2: L. gasseri — healthy; CST3: L. iners — conditional/risky when pathogens present; CST4: non-Lactobacillus-associated — higher risk of bacterial vaginosis, aerobic vaginitis, UTIs, Group B strep; CST5: L. jensenii — uncommon but healthy). The presenter recommends taking Tiny Health's vaginal test to determine one’s CST and guide care.

Okay.
So quick overview of the community state types. This is something particular to the vaginal microbiome and it's basically been determined by researchers. Every woman's vaginal microbiome is going to fall into one of the community state types. So what we want all women to be in is that community state type 1 with the lactobacillus crispatus dominance that is going to be your healthiest vaginal microbiome. Community state type 2 is also a healthy vaginal microbiome with Lactobacillus gasseri being dominant. Community state type 3 is lactobacillus dominant but is dominated by Lactobacillus iners, which I like to call our two faced microbe. So basically if you have Ironers and you have other good Lactobacillus strains there and species there, then you're going to be okay. But if you have other pathogenic microbes there, then Iners is going to go, go wrong and really help support those pathogens to set up shop. We have community state type 4, which, this is the one where things are really, you know, when we, we see issues and infections, women are mostly falling in that community state type 4. So this is where you're gonna see an increased risk of bacterial vaginosis, aerobic vaginitis, urinary tract infections, which is a huge issue for women in menopause and something to really for and, and then group strep B which is really important to look out for if you are pregnant. Right. And knowing before you have to do any kind of antibiotics before giving birth. Finally there's community state type 5. This is very uncommon, but it is also a healthy vaginal microbiome dominated by Lactobacillus jenseni. So you can take our vaginal test and you can learn which community state type you fall into. If you have any issues that you're dealing with in your vaginal microbiome, I highly recommend taking this test. It's going to super useful information and you're going to be able to get some relief really fast.
