Hey everyone, this is your Moment of Yes. Monday, August 17th, back in St. Louis. Uh, Hal and I both here for a couple of weeks doing some work. I've got a couple of trips while I'm here. Off to Atlanta today, Colorado next week. Why do you care? I don't know. Your Moment of Yes for today is get ready to be ready. Josh Liffrak, a buddy of mine, mental conditioning coach, Limitless Minds. Big, big guy, Josh. Not, not, not physically big. Big guy. Awesome work, Josh. I don't know what I'm saying. He was with the Chicago Cubs when they won the World Series. He was in— Ryan Sandberg, Hall of Fame second baseman for the Cubs, was hanging around the team one day and Josh said to him, Ryan, like, what was mental conditioning to you? And he's like, you know, for me, mental conditioning was simple. It was get ready to be ready. He's like, what do you mean? He's like, just get ready to be ready. Make sure that you're doing everything that every day you're doing the things that you need to do, preparation, behaviors, habits, routines, to be ready, to be ready when the moment is the biggest. Get ready, preparation to be ready. You're ready for the moment. I just love that. I love that phrase. I love the simplicity of it. I was working with a player this week, a pro player. He's kind of found himself Out of the rotation, um, and they were playing a huge game, uh, this weekend. And, uh, a player got injured pretty late in the game. And here he is sitting on the bench in a game that not for a minute was there any anticipation that he would be in there. And all of a sudden he's thrown out 20, 25 minutes to go, helping seal the victory of a game that he kind of thought that he wasn't going to be in. And it just made me think of get ready to be ready, right? I talk about with the players all the time that fireman's mentality, which is you don't know when the bell's going to ring, but when it does, are you ready for it? So everything that we're doing throughout our day with our habits, our routines, our preparation, it's that we can't control when opportunities are going to come. All we can prepare ourselves is, is to be ready when they do come. And so, are we getting discouraged and not doing the work? Are we sloughing off? What are we doing? So, this week, your moment of yes. What do you need to do today to get ready to be ready? There you have it. That's your moment of yes for today. Have an awesome week, everyone.
