I know I'm not the only entrepreneur that can get so wrapped up in her work that she doesn't realize she just ate an entire bag of M&MS. And has not gotten up from her chair in the past three hours. Can I get an amen? But we need to be aware of this sedentary lifestyle that we are leading. I know we have so many things to do, but here's the thing. If you aren't healthy, your business isn't going to be healthy either. So today I want to share with you 10 things you can do to really improve your entrepreneurial health, mental and physical. Hi, my name is Trina and I started this channel to help creative entrepreneurs like you get on YouTube to grow your business. Because as a mom of two, I don't have time to constantly be online on my computer sending emails. So I created a YouTube channel to do all the work for me. One of the things we tend to neglect as entrepreneurs, especially, especially female entrepreneurs, because we have so many other things like kids and appointments to take our kids to and husbands to take care of, is we tend to forget about taking care of ourselves. I know I definitely fell into this last year and I felt not good. It's not that I wasn't unhealthy. I just didn't feel as good as I did when I was exercising and eating right. So I really focused the past six months on what I can do to get healthier. So I want to share these tips with you. The first tip is to meal prep. So I like to plan out all my meals and all my snacks every Saturday and go to the grocery store on Saturday. I do not like to do these two tasks at once. I do not like to go to the grocery store and meal prep on the same day. So on Saturdays, we'll go to the grocery store and probably hit up Target. And then on Sundays, I will meal prep. And what that involves is creating lunches. So whether that's veggie burgers or salads or whatever it is we're having for lunch that week, I also create my own snacks, which is tip 2. Create your own snacks. So for me, I really like to create these blueberry oat bars with protein powder. I also create a lot of mini muffins that have protein powder in them as well. That way I'm not just running downstairs and grabbing a bag of chips or M&Ms. I have good treats that I created that are not processed foods A along that idea. Another tip that I have for you is to keep the unhealthy food out of the house. So we don't buy potato chips, we try not to buy ice cream. All these little snacks that you can tend to mindlessly snack away on. I don't buy them at the grocery store and this helps you not eating those extra calories. Another tip is to if you have a Fitbit, get up when it tells you to or set a timer on your phone to get up every hour. Just get up, walk around your house, walk outside to the mailbox, walk up and down the stairs. Just do something to get that blood flow circulating again. The more we sit, the more sedentary lifestyle we have and the more risks we have of becoming unhealthy. So just try to move every hour. The next one is a biggie and it's to get your sleep. In this world of hustle, hustle, hustle, you've got to work as long as possible. Getting your sleep is actually more important. You don't get a gold star. You don't make more money because you stayed up till 2am or pooled an all nighter. Get your sleep. And I definitely experienced this. I would stay up till like two in the morning to get things done and get up at 6 with the kids. But here's the thing. When I got eight hours of sleep, not only did I feel better the next day, but I got more accomplished the the next day then when I did get accomplished at 2 in the morning. So shut down, turn your computer off, go to bed and get sleep. Next. You've got to really schedule in working out. And I don't mean going to the gym and pumping iron and seeing how much you can lift. But schedule a 30 minute walk. Do an online workout. There are so many YouTube channels that have amazing quick 20 minute workouts that you can do at home with your own body weight or with bands that cost a couple dollars at Target. If you can start incorporating this into your day every single day, you will definitely notice a difference in not only how you feel but also in how you look. The next tip that I have for you that I've been incorporating is drinking lots of water. This guy right here is 24 ounces and I try to drink three to four of these a day. I keep it here on my desk. I like it in a straw just because I drink more water in a straw. So that helps me drink more water. But you've got to drink lots of water to be healthy. Your body needs it. And Americans in general are typically dehydrated. Not on purpose, but we tend not to drink enough water. So we tend to be chronically dehydrated. Next is to avoid working at night. You're going to be stimulating your brain and you're going to be thinking about all these things. Plus, having your eyes in front of the blue light of your computer is going to really affect you falling asleep. Sleep, which we talked about earlier. You've got to get that sleep, so have a hard shutdown time. I really like to push for three to four o', clock, depending on if it's a day my kids are here. If it's a day, they're at their grandma's house. But I like to shut down and not pick up that computer again. I don't want to get my mind going because if I do, I'm going to be thinking about 100 million things when it's time to go to sleep and then end up not being able to fall asleep. So avoid working at night. Okay, now here's some mindset tips. The first one is to set some me time. I know this is hard, especially for moms. We think about all the things we gotta do. Laundry, dinner, change diapers, get the kids ready for bed. But you really got to incorporate some me time into your schedule. Treat yourself. Whether it's grabbing a face mask and watching Real Housewives or just reading a book or going on a walk by yourself, you've got to have some of that me time scheduled into your day or even just your week. Treat yourself. You need that time to kind of rejuvenate and get motivated and inspired again. Constantly going and going and not taking time for ourselves can really affect not only your physical health, but your mental health as well. Next is a huge mindset tip that I have for you that's really going to infect all of the stuff that I just talked about. Start thinking that you are doing enough. We get so sucked into seeing all these things everybody else is doing. And I'm guilty of this too, and thinking I'm not doing enough. I need to have a podcast, I need to have a Facebook group, I need to have an ebook. And so we put all of these things on our plate because we don't think we are doing enough. But you are doing enough. If you have a business and you have kids, you know your time is split 500 different places and you are doing enough. Don't stress over it. Don't think you have to do every single thing that you see come across your plate. This is definitely going to affect not only your mental, but your physical health. And I too have experienced experience this as well. I'd love to hear what your tips are to improve our health as entrepreneurs down in the comments below.
