Have you ever found yourself in a rut? Whether it's in your business or in your life, you just find, like, you're getting up and you're doing the same thing, and everything just seems like Groundhog Day. I get it. I've absolutely been there countless times before. And in this video, I'm going to share with you 10 habits that I do that were game changer to help me stay from getting into those ruts. Hi. Hi. I'm trita. I'm a YouTube strategist, and I started this channel to help creative entrepreneurs like you get on YouTube to grow. Now, if you're new here or you haven't done so yet, make sure you hit that subscribe button down below and you see that little bell icon? Hit that too, because then you'll be notified every single time I upload a new video just for you. So let's face it, ruts happen. There are those times, especially in the late winter, that we're just getting out of where the weather is terrible, you're sick and tired of the cold, and you're losing out on your New Year's resolutions. You had this high of all these goals, and they aren't happening. And so you just kind of go on a slump. Right? These are just some of the things that I've done in the past and that I'm currently doing to really help me from getting into that slump and get me out of it faster. When I do get there, the first thing that I've done is really focusing on my Fitbit. So when it tells me it's time to get up to crush some steps, I'll get up. I'll go walk up and down the steps in my house, like five times just to really get the blood circulation going. Because if you are like me and you work from home, you know, you can absolutely forget how long you're sitting here. You're just trying to get things done, and you don't get up and walk a little bit. So I've been really counting on my Fitbit. I've been trying to hit the 10,000 miles. 10,000 steps. 10,000 miles. Holy crap. But I've been trying to hit the 10,000 steps and just walking up and down my stairs. When my Fitbit reminds me the next thing they do is I meal prep. So not only does this keep me from not getting into a rut, but it helps me stay healthier, which keeps me out of a rut. So every Sunday, my husband and I sit down, chat what we want to have for Dinner. I also use Tone It Up's meal plan to get ideas or to follow when they have like their weekly schedules out. And then Sunday night after we go to the grocery store, we'll just meal prep. We, we usually prep our breakfast and our lunch and then we know what we want to make for dinner and we'll make one big thing on Monday and try to eat that as much as possible. We don't mind leftovers as long as we don't have to cook. But that's really helped me from getting into a rut because trying to make a decision on what to eat. Let me tell you, decision overload is totally a real thing. The next thing that I do is plan my workouts and I try to work out because this will definitely help you from getting into a rut. Exercising and the endorphins that you get from exercising just kind of elevate those emotions and it can help you stay healthier and happier. So instead of me just waking up every morning, like what am I going to do today? Or I'm not sure what my workout is, I plan it out again. I'll reference Tone It Up. If you need a free program where they tell you exactly what to work out every single day, check them out because I just follow their daily moves and their suggested workout for that day and. And that's my exercise makes it pretty easy. The next thing that I really done to help my mood just get better is yoga. Yoga is a time where not only can you exercise and stretch out your muscles, but you can really kind of start to meditate during yoga. I started doing yoga a few years ago and I thought it was like this woo woo thing, but it's not. And I actually got my husband doing yoga too. He is not very flexible. When he bends over to touch his toes, he can only touch his knees. So it's been helping with his flexibility and feeling better and having that time to meditate. I'm not really great on the meditation, but kind of just reflect and calm yourself down and get away from the screen a little bit. Okay. So this habit is going to help you with the workouts and with the yoga. And it's setting your clothes out the night before. I will pull out my workout pants and everything that I need. Sports bra, socks, sneakers, and set it in my bathroom so when my alarm clock goes off, I can just sneak right into the bathroom, change into my workout clothes and go workout. This way I avoid potentially waking children up and losing out on my workout time. I don't have the decision again of what to wear to work out. I already planned it the night before. So all you have to do is just roll out of bed. Those workout clothes are waiting for you. You have your workout already planned in advance. It just makes it a lot easier to do. The next idea is to get outside. I know I don't get outside a lot sometimes. There have been times, honestly my friend, that I've only gone out of the house on a Sunday. Yeah. Like actually walked outside and had fresh air. Here in Pennsylvania, it's a little hard sometimes in the winter because it's so cold. But if you can just get outside, walk to the mailbox or just walk outside or I just felt like running, do something outside for just a few minutes. That fresh air and that sunlight definitely will help you get out of that rut and be a little more inspired and motivated. Moving right along. And it is to drink more water. I really try to get 90 ounces of water in every single day. I don't have my cup up here right now with me, but I have a Tervis cup that holds 24 ounces of water. So I try to drink at least three of those every single day. And on a good day I'll drink four or five and I just carry it along with me. The reason why I have a Turfis cup is because I can put the ice in it and it kind of keeps it colder, longer. And I want to drink warm water so I can drink more water if it's actually cold. If you don't like the taste of water. One thing that I've been doing as well is adding lemon to my water and I just squeeze it with like a little lemon squeezer or citrus squeezer. Just a change the flavor a little bit. Alright. This habit is a biggie to stay out of a rut and it's to actually shut down. So at the end of every single night, say 4 o', clock, 5 o', clock, whenever it's the end of your workday, shut down. I've had a really hard time doing this and I know this can definitely lead into a rut. But you've got to put the laptop away, you've got to put the phone away and you've got to focus on real life. Whether it's your significant other, your kids, your friends, your. You've got to cut it off at a certain time. Now I'm preaching to the choir because I don't always do this. I always got this guy right by me where I can instantly respond to somebody, but I've been working really hard on just shutting down at a time, having a hard stop time. All right? This habit is a fun one and I'm still struggling on it. And it is to find a hobby. Now, when I started my business, obviously YouTube was my hobby, but now YouTube is kind of my job. So I've been trying to look at ways to find a hobby but also have time for a hobby. Ain't nobody got time for that. This is kind of a double edged sword. I want a hobby. I don't know what my hobby should be. And I don't have time for a hobby yet because I also have two small children. So if you can think about a hobby that you would like to get into, whether it's scrapbooking or my husband brews beer, whatever you can think about, just find an outlet of creativity so that you're not constantly doing the same thing day in and day out and have a passion project. Okay, here's a fun one. And it is to clean up your workspace. I definitely find myself much more motivated and avoiding that rut if I keep my space organized. So I, at the end of every single workday when I set that hard stop time, I try to clean up my office space, right? I put away the post its, I close the laptop, I wrap the cords up. That way when I come in in the morning, the next day, it's like a fresh slate, you know, clean slate, whatever you want to call it. And I'm much more motivated to get to work than to fall into that rut of, oh, here's another workday. What am I gonna do today? More channel audits. So clean up your space when you're done.
