Marketing materials. When you're doing something customized for every single client, there's going to probably be different results. Right. But when you have one signature offer that you do the same thing every time for every single client, you should be getting consistent results. Also, those people that are hiring you, working with you, it is going to be so much easier for them to recommend you to their friends, their colleagues because they will know exactly what it is that you do if you have one offer. And I understand it's hard to turn away clients and it's easy to anybody comes to your door. Oh, I can find a solution for that. Right. I'm going to tell you from my experience I did this and I feel it held me back in growing my business because I would take on editing projects and while I can edit, it's not my sweet spot and not really what I wanted to be known for. And when I was just doing editing, I couldn't control the rest of the results. Right. I didn't strategize the video idea, I didn't tell them how to script the video or how to record the video. So I could only do what I could do, basically edit with this video. And I, I couldn't control the outcome of how it was going to perform on YouTube. Not only that, but then people were confused, oh, am I a video editor? Oh, Trina is a video editor, but I am not. So in 2021 when we decided this is the offer, this is the package, you have to take the whole thing because we can control your outcome on YouTube if we do the entire thing and if you don't want everything, then we aren't the right fit. This is what changed the game for my business. I talked about this in a few other videos, but in 2021 that's when we went from three one on one clients to over 10. I think at one point we were at 12. But when I also started to hire full time employees to help on the agency side as well, when I got strategic and just had one offer, people knew what to come to me for and people knew who to recommend me to. Another huge pro when it comes to offering one on one services is you really get to understand your target audience. Usually when you're working one on one with a client, you, you get to hear a lot from them and you're conversing with them and you're hearing their pain points and you're hearing their struggles. And this is all marketing research for you to use in your promotion, in Your marketing, your YouTube videos, your Instagram Content, your email marketing, right? When you're working so closely with people, you really start to understand their pain point and you can start to figure out what is the best solution for these people and how can you do that. Now we're going to talk about why that is so important in courses coming up. But I do want to talk about about the cons of one on one services. Now the biggest disadvantage or the biggest con when it comes to online services is your time. You only have so many hours in a day, especially if you are doing this while the kids are napping or while they're at school. And so you can only take the amount of clients that you have time in the day. The other problem that comes up with that is let's say you have 20 hours a week to work. You can take one client for 10 hours a week. That means you can take two clients to fill up that 20 hours of work. The problem is you're spending all your time on your clients work and you're not working on your business, you're not working on promoting your business, you're not working on making the back end stuff of your business like systems, processes, because you're taking all the time that you have and putting it into client work. And so you're basically going to plateau there unless you figure out what else you need to be doing into your business to take it to that next level. Because if you aren't marketing your business, hopefully your clients are referring you. But how else are you getting leads in the door if you aren't marketing and talking about your business? So it becomes very hard to scale a one on one service unless you start outsourcing it or you start hiring, which is what we ultimately had to do in 2021. All right, let's talk about the pros and cons and courses because everyone out there says you need a course. There are courses on creating courses and selling courses. So let's dive into this a little bit deeper than just the pitch. Passive income. Living the life of your dream, right? The biggest advantage or the biggest pro of online courses is you can reach a broader audience and technically create more passive income with a course because it's not directly tied to your time. It's also easier to scale to get more sales in your online course or to get more clients or students in your online course without again contributing directly to your time. So like with a client, one client equals 10 hours of your work time. Time. One student in your course does not equal a certain amount of time for you, right? There is time that goes into creating the course, setting it up, all the automations and then maintenance in the course. But there's no direct correlation to every sale you make in a course like it is to a one on one service. So it's easier to make more money in an online course than say a service. The other thing a course does is it can establish you as an expert in your niche. This is going to allow you the opportunity to be on podcasts speaking about your niche, speak on stages talking about your niche. And all of these opportunities just increase the traffic to your course, to your offer, which obviously increases the sales and the more money that you can make with your digital course or your passive product. You also have the opportunity with a course to go to other business owners and collaborate. One thing that we've done, and we plan to do more on in the second half of 2023 is joint vent webinars, meaning I'm reaching out to my Rolodex basically gen zers. Do you know what a Rolodex is? And seeing who would want to collaborate with me, I would offer their audience a special price for my course and in return me and the person I'm collaborating with would split the income, right? Either a 50, 50 split, 40, 60 split, whatever you decide to do. But again that allows you to grow your audience and get more sales sales of your digital course. It's kind of hard to do that with a one on one service. But with pros comes cons. And courses have cons as well. Actually the main con that comes around courses isn't the amount of money or the amount of time you actually need to invest in creating that course, setting up the sales system, doing all the tech stuff. The biggest con is you need to have an audience, a large audience. Remember how with one on one services you could offer a higher price point so you don't need as many people to book yourself out because you can get to 10k months faster with a higher ticket offer. But with a lower ticket course traffic becomes the biggest problem. And I'm going to tell you this is probably the biggest mistake that I've ever made in my business. And it was when I got started I thought that I could create this course and within a month be sipping my ties on the beach like living my best life. Because I thought based on the words and the marketing gurus around me, that if I just created a course, sales would lead in. So I spent probably two months solely on creating this course. I didn't have an audience. I maybe had a hundred YouTube followers at the time I was on Snapchat and maybe had 100 people there as well. I didn't have a large audience. I had a big enough audience that I could have been pitching one on one services, which, spoiler alert is what I actually fell back on when the course launch totally failed. But because the only case study, the only situation that I worked through my process with that I was selling in my course was my own. I didn't clearly understand my target audience's pain point. I didn't clearly understand the messaging and the topics that I needed to talk about to my target audience for them to trust and want to buy from me. And I didn't have the case studies, I didn't have the testimonials from other business owners to validate that, yes, what she says is true. So again, like I said, when I launched that course, after spending my first two months of business on totally bombed, I was left wondering if I had made the worst decision in my life, quitting my job to make this course. Like I said, I did ultimately fall back on one on one services and I booked a client within 30 days after that course fail. But we need to understand the math. And when I talk to my 10k or replay clients, this is the biggest thing that they don't understand when it comes to them figuring out why is their business not working, why are they not making sales? So here's the course math, the digital course, online course, whatever you want to call it, math that you need to understand if you want to figure out how you're going to get to 10k months with just a course. Okay, let's do the course math here. Let's say Your course is $497 and you would really like to make $5,000 a month from your digital course. That means you need to make about 11 sales to make 5,000 doll. Because industry standard for core sales page is about 1 1/2 to 2% conversion rate. That means you need to get at least 700 people to that sales page every single month to ensure you're going to make 11 sales each month, thus making $5,000 every single month. So if you don't even have 700 people following you, it's really going to be hard to hit that number. And if you don't understand that number and what you can to grow that number or to create a traffic plan to ensure you're constantly hitting that 700 number, it can be very hard to make your sales goals with just an online course. I mentioned my 10k on replay clients earlier, but this is one of the first things I asked them to do when they join my program and one of the first assignments I asked them to submit for an audit from me. I asked them to think about how much do they want to make in their business each month and I ask them how many of each thing that they are offering do they want to sell and then we break down how many eyeballs need to see that and then we figure out how are we going to get those eyeballs there. This is so key if you want to get to that elusive 10k a month income. So which option would actually get you to 10k months faster? One on one service or a course? Before I tell you, I want to personally invite you to a one day virtual conference that I'm hosting on April 5th. This virtual conference is called 10K Con. Kind of like Bravo Con Comic Con. During this one day virtual event, I'm going to be walking you through all the different pieces any business owner really needs to have in place to get to this elusive 10k monthly income. Because it is not easy. No matter what you hear marketing gurus tell you, it is hard. I'm going to be doing three live workshops that day that we can work together. The first one is called the three strategies that you need to build a 10k a month business model, how to create a traffic generating plan to attract and convert your dream clients and how to create your sweet spot 90 day plan. Not only will I be hosting these three sessions, but I'm also going to have a panel of current solo entrepreneurs who are working towards 10k months and beyond. You're going to be able to ask them questions like what's worked for you, what's not worked for you, what is the biggest aha moment you've had in your business and how are you currently working to get to 10k months? So people who are literally in the thick of it right now, you're going to be able to hear from. And in addition to getting your ticket to 10k con, you're going to get instant access to a private podcast where I have interviewed over eight seven figure entrepreneurs and asked them to reflect back on the time where they were struggling to make 10k months as well. I asked them what was their biggest aha moment that allowed them to get past 10k months? What did they feel like when they were struggling to get 10k months and what changes did they do to finally get to seven figures? There's also two bonus interviews in there as well where I interview my husband, asking him what it's like like to be married to an entrepreneur, what he loves, what he hates just a little bit behind the scenes of living and being married to an entrepreneur. And I talk to my kids and ask them some questions like what do they think I do? Who works harder, Mommy or Daddy? It's really pretty funny and it's only available for those that get a ticket for 10K Con, so head to trina little.com forward/10kcon to get your ticket for this live one day virtual con conference that is happening on April 5th. So what's the answer? Courses or a service? You've really got to have a combination of both of these. You can't be making 10k a month on just one on one services if that's taking up all your time and you don't have time to work on your own business. And you can't go all in with courses if you don't have the market research behind your target audience to truly understand what it is that they need and understand their pain points to market to them. Plus, you need an audience or a traffic plan to map out how you're going to consistently get the right amount of eyeballs on your core sales page every single month to hit your sales goals. I dive deeper into making a traffic plan to help you get to 10k months in the video on your screen right now. And remember, during 10K Con I'm doing an entire live workshop on how to map out a traffic plan that you can do to get to 10k months. So don't forget to get your seat at the one day virtual event 10k con at trina little.com 10kcon.
