The content features Trena, a YouTube strategist, providing a detailed solo presentation on various business ideas such as online courses, coaching, services, shops, and virtual assistance. Use YouTube as a launching ground or a promotion ground for your business off of YouTube. Hello or welcome back. My name is Trena. If you are new here and I'm a YouTube strategist committed to helping you do YouTube better, one of my favorite ways to use YouTube is to help me grow my business and make more money in my business. But. But if you don't have a business yet, where do you get started? What ideas are good and what ideas are going to actually make you money? I'm going to walk you through five great ideas that you can get started on and make sure you listen to the end because I'm going to give you some actionable steps on what you should do as soon as you have a business idea to make sure it's profitable and that you can start making money instantly with your new business. So the first business idea is an online course. We all know how to do something that somebody else doesn't know how to do, right? Just like when I got started on YouTube, I started testing things out. I started playing with all the tech stuff and other people who hadn't been on YouTube yet didn't know how to do that. While I wasn't a YouTube expert at the time, I was able to train people and create video trainings on how to upload a video, how to add a thumbnail, how to create a thumbnail. And by creating this course, it gave people a direct way of on how to do something instead of trying to search all over the place to figure it out. So what is something that you know how to do? Maybe you know how to make kombucha. Maybe you know how to knit, maybe you know how to do calligraphy. There are so many things that you probably know how to do that somebody else doesn't know how to do. And you could turn this into an online course. Now, before you jump into this idea, one quick disclaimer. It's not as easy as a lot of people make it out to be that you just create this course and you put it online and all of a sudden you're sipping Mai Tais on the be making money around the clock. There's a lot more that goes into it, which I'm going to talk about here in a little bit. But it's a great place to get started and a great place to start making that passive income that you hear a lot of people talk about. The next business idea is to be a coach or a consultant. You probably again can help somebody learn how to do something. It's like creating a Course, without the course. Basically, what I do as a coach is I check in with my clients every. Every week, every other week, whatever we decide on. And to see how is their YouTube strategy going, how are they doing creating videos, where are they getting hung up on? I also go into their channels, check their channels out, see what they're doing well, and encourage them to do better. There's also life coaches and health coaches, and you can have consultants, like business consultants to look at your business and tell you what direction to take it. Or even something crazy like garden consultants. Yeah, you could be a garden consultant where you help people figure out what plants they can plant in their garden based on where they live and the weather that happens in their area. And you can help them create this garden they've been desiring to create, but they just haven't known how to do it. It's as simple as that. Thinking about one thing you're really good at and allowing people to hire you or allowing people to let you coach them to do it better. Most people just want accountability if they're trying to achieve something, maybe they're not telling all their friends and family, so they don't have accountability. And if they can have that one person that they can turn to, depending on whatever it is that they're trying to achieve in their life, having that consultant or that coach to turn to who knows their goals and knows how to get there is really a great value to a lot of people. The next business idea is to create services. Now, as a mom, I run out of time to clean my house. So you could have a house cleaning service, A meal prepping service. I know I prep my meals every Sunday. I get them all prepared, I get the snacks made, but maybe that's something you're already doing. And you could just do this times four or times eight and start selling these foods and these snacks that you're meal prepping already and start making money that way. I'm sure there are busy people in your area that would love to already have their meals prepped for them for the entire week. So start to think about services that you could do that you like doing that other people would want to buy and would really value. This is a great idea because it doesn't take a lot of money to invest in this. This is something you can get started with immediately. The next video idea I have for you is to set up a shop. Especially if you're the artsy kind or you're the Pinterest doer. Right. You see all these Pinterest projects and then you do them and you love the way they look and people tell you, wow, that's really cool. Like you have a talent. You could start selling these on something like Etsy or creating your own website and start selling them on your own website, whether that's jewelry or artwork or even photography. You could take these amazing artsy photos and start selling your prints. The next business idea is to be an assistant or a virtual assistant. There are things that I need help with in my business that I just don't have the time to do, like responding to emails or posting to Facebook or posting to Instagram. And it doesn't take a lot to figure out how to do. I just don't have the time to do it because I'm thinking bigger picture. I'm creating these YouTube videos which I can't really outsource to, and I'm creating membership site material to help my members reach their goals. So things like posting to Instagram and sending email newsletters out, I don't have time for. And so I hire a virtual assistant to do that for me. What are some things that you could do for somebody? Maybe it's scheduling their travel, maybe it's responding to their emails, maybe it's helping them get set up with an Instagram account. Because you may not be an expert at Instagram, but you know how to create an Instagram account. You know how to post Instagram, you know how to put captions on it, right? So these are the little things that you could do to provide service to somebody that they really need. Now this is another business idea, but it's not something I always lead with because it's not a stable business idea. And that idea is to have a YouTube channel. While you can make money here on YouTube through AdSense and through brand deals, it's really important for you to have a business model off of YouTube so you're not relying on AdSense. And there have been countless examples when YouTube went through ad apocalypse and people who were relying on five figure adsense money to come in every month, that money just disappeared because YouTube stopped ads or they flagged their channel. And so that's why it's really important to think about these other business ideas that I talked about for you to have off of YouTube and to use YouTube as a launching ground or a promotion ground for your business off of YouTube. Alright, so now maybe you have all of these ideas running through your head, but you're like, oh no, I'm overwhelmed. Where do I get started? I got you. So before you jump in and you start running on this hamster wheel of building a business and not seeing the money come in, I want you to sit down and start thinking about these things. First, I want you to set a goal for your business. And this could be any kind of goal. The amount of clients you want, the amount of money that you want to make, how long you want to be in business, do you want to sell your business, build up this business so that somebody else wants to buy it. But have a goal in mind for your business before you get started. If you don't have a final destination for your business, that's where that running on a hamster wheel is going to get really old. Because it's basically like going on a road trip without a destination in mind. You're going to be all over the place and you're never going to get where you actually want to get to. For example, I started my business so thinking that I needed to make like this seven figure multimillion dollar business because that's what everybody said was successful. But what I came to realize after evaluating my goals and where I'm most happy, I do not need a seven figure business to be happy. I am happy with making enough money that I can take the weekends, I can take the three day weekends off, I can go on vacation with my family, I can take the holidays off at the end of the year and we have enough money to put away for retirement and for the kids college fund. Again, that doesn't need to be a seven figure business for me. So I don't need to constantly level up and level up because that's not what's successful to me. What's successful to me is to have the time with my family. The next thing you need to do when getting your business started is to set up an email list. While here on YouTube, subscriber numbers are great and Instagram follower numbers are great. You don't own those platforms and at any minute this isn't necessarily going to happen. But at any minute YouTube could take them away from you or Instagram could shut down and you wouldn't have a way to connect with those people that had voice their interest in your business. So by having an email list on something like Mailchimp or ConvertKit or Ontraport, there's so many different options out there nowadays. Having collected those emails allows you to get in contact with these people anytime you need need to. It's also a great way to tell them when you have something new or something exciting and to develop that relationship with them so that they know, like and trust you and they actually want to spend money to hire you or buy your products. The next thing I have is really important. It's another mistake that I made when I got started as well, and it's to choose one platform to start building your business on. By one platform I mean focus on Facebook or YouTube or Pinterest or Instagram. What happened to me is I thought I had to be on every single platform. When I got started, I was on Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, Twitter. I was on all of them. And what happened was I didn't end up connecting with anybody on all of those platforms because I was doing them all so poorly, because I was spread so thin. When the tides really changed for me was when I decided to just focus on YouTube and Pinterest. Alright? So I was creating YouTube videos and I was promoting them on Pinterest with pins, because I knew my audience was on Pinterest. So I created my videos here on YouTube. I focused on creating quality content and then I created pins over on Pinterest to start circling into the Pinterest universe. I stopped on Facebook, I stopped on Instagram, I stopped on Snapchat. And what happened was I was able to see YouTube and Pinterest grow significantly in such a short amount of time than when I was doing all those platforms in a longer amount of time. Now, I know we can get FOMO and you can think, well, they say I need to be here and there and here I get it. But trust me, for your sake and for your business growth sake, pick one or two platforms and do those platforms really, really well till you start making money and you can outsource some of those processes and you can then do more platforms when you have help. That one platform you decide you're going to use is YouTube. You're going to want to check out the playlist that I have on your screen right now because it is a quick three video series to tell you exactly how to get started on YouTube, to make sure you're getting the right leads here on YouTube that are going to buy from you. So click that playlist right over there and I'll see you in that next video. Bye.
