I'm going to give you five quick tips that you can do today to help you get more views on your current videos or the next one you published. Hi, my name is Trena and welcome to my channel, Tips with Trena. Here on this channel, I help creative business owners like you get on YouTube to to grow your business. Now let's jump into those five tips that you can do today to start boosting more views on your videos. Because that's the point, right? We want more views on our videos. The first thing you've got to do is promote that video. I've talked about this before. I actually have an entire video on how you can promote your video. So check that out. I'll link it up above. But you've got to tell people when, when you publish a video, they're not secretly going to know you have a YouTube channel. And you've got to get as many views on that video as soon as you publish it to signal to YouTube that this is quality content and people are actually watching it. Unfortunately, your video is not going to be magically found on YouTube and go viral. You've got to put some effort into it and you've got to share it. Your email list on Facebook, Instagram, even maybe tell your friends as you're just getting started, please go watch my video and maybe share it and leave a comment. This helps you get that traction on YouTube that you need to start getting more views. The second tip I've got for you is if you've heard me say it once and you've heard me say it a thousand times, focus on that thumbnail. How can you make your thumbnail better? Is it clickable? I know I hired a graphic designer at the end of last year, and within three months of working together, I've gone from getting about 5,000 clicks on my videos to. To now, almost 20,000 clicks. Because I started strategizing more about my thumbnail as a whole and letting her really put her talent into it and start reflecting more of my branding on it. So if you can't afford a graphic designer right now, that's totally okay. Just think about your thumbnail as you're crafting your content. So what can you do in that thumbnail? That's Going to make people click on it. You'll notice in my videos, I'm doing more things in my thumbnails than just pointing. I'm trying to show an emotion or trying to intrigue the potential viewer to click on that video. So that's what I want you to focus on, is think about how you can improve your thumbnails. The next way to get more views on your videos is to use the cards feature here on YouTube. So earlier I told you about a video that I had showing you how to promote your videos. And I said, click the card right up above. That gets people over to another video that you already have, which has more views. Right. As you're creating your content and you're writing your script for your videos, think about ways you can plug older videos. If you did something you know that you're referencing in an older video, tell them to check that out. Put it in a card, Put it in the description box. What's an even power secret to using cards is to send people to playlists of your videos. So. So by sending people to playlists, they're automatically going to be dumped into about five videos. So that's five more views that you might not have got if you didn't tell people that you had this playlist. But what's really important with this strategy is to have that strong call to action. So if I was talking about goals, I would say, if you want to see how I'm setting goals for this year, make sure you check this playlist right up here, because I'm sharing all of my goals for this year. You have that strong call to action. You told them where to click, and then you put the card in. When you upload your video to YouTube, then you. The next tip is something I really wish I did sooner, but it's start paying attention to your audience retention graphs in your analytics. So if you go into your analytics and you go down to your audience retention, you want to click a video and look at where people are dropping off. So this graph is going to show you when people start to leave. If you have a steep drop at the beginning of your videos, take a look at what you're doing. Is your thumbnail and your title not really reflecting what that first five seconds of that video is about? Were you kind of using clickbait or are you showing a graphic intro and it's not you instantly on the video, or do you not have a strong enough hook that keeps people wanting to watch? I really strategize and think about what I'm going to say in my first five seconds of my video that relates to my title and my thumbnail. That's why it's so important to think about that title and thumbnail before you start creating your content so that your hook can just reiterate to people that click on that video that yes, this video is what I clicked on and I want to watch more. Another great way to do this is to think about a pain point that you are addressing in that video and use that pain point in the hook. So today in my video I talked about are you struggling with getting views on your videos? It's probably a pain point you have, and if you are, you're thinking, yes, I need these five tips that Trina's about to share, right? So another strategy to get more views is to add links to playlists and in your description box, if you look down below this video, you'll see my description box and you can click to show more and you'll see that I suggest some of my best playlists for you to check out. Now, not everybody is checking out the description box, but some people are. And why not direct them to a playlist again, that can get you more views. You can actually add these playlists to your upload defaults. If you go into your creator studio and you add it to your upload defaults. And every single time you upload a video, these playlists will automatically be entered into your description box. So it's not really any extra work for you. I would love to know how many views are you typically getting on your videos. Let me know down below. I'd love to help you get to that next level with your view count. Also, don't forget to check out the playlist that's on your screen right now because it's going to help you in growing your YouTube channel.
