7 Habits For The Most Productive Week EVER

This is a YouTube video titled "7 Habits For The Most Productive Week EVER" created in March 2018 featuring Trena Little sharing her personal productivity tips and strategies for managing work and life balance as a creative entrepreneur. The video covers her routines, time blocking, scheduling, and self-care practices to maximize productivity throughout the week.
One of the biggest questions I get asked all the time is how do you get so much done in a day? You've got kids, you got clients, you got a group program, you're on YouTube, you're on Facebook. How do you do it all? Stick around because in today's video, I'm going to share my biggest secrets on how I'm so productive. Hi, I'm Trina and I started this channel to help creative entrepreneurs like you get on YouTube to grow. If you're new here, make sure you click subscribe and hit that bell notification so you can catch all the videos that I create just for you. And since we're talking about productivity, let's just jump right to it. The first thing to be more productive that everybody tells you to do is get up early, get your most important tasks done in the morning. But if you're like me and you have children and they don't always sleep in or they decide to be up all night, being the most productive in the morning just doesn't work for some of us. For me, as I said in previous videos of mine, I just know morning routines aren't in my cards. I'm going to talk about some of the other things that I do to be more productive other than having that golden egg morning routine. For me to be productive, I've got to do some type of exercise now, whether this is walking. With my recent knee injury, I'm not able to do the exercises that I used to do, like HIIT workouts and running and different types of body strength exercise. So for me to walk every day just makes me feel more productive and gives me more energy to get done. It just really helps me focus and not stray off in the squirrel world all the time. If I've gotten my exercise in. The second way I stay productive is time blocking. To change your hats from client work to coaching to your business, you're wasting time in between those hat switchings. You got to stop what you're doing, get turned around, focused on the next thing, and it's time wasted on getting more done. What I do is I really block my days out. You've heard me say this before. Mondays are client work. And so I know Mondays I'm just focusing on one specific client. I'm going to dig deep into what I need to do. I don't have to worry about taking a call and getting out of my zone or filming a video or responding to emails. I know Mondays are just for that client. Then Tuesdays I focus on my business. So this is when I can film, when I can update my emails, when I can do other types of things in my business so that I'm not worried about missing out on a client deadline or responding to a client because I need to focus on my business if I want to see it grow. The third way that I am more productive is how I schedule calls. So for me, my cost schedule on acuity is only available every other week from Tuesdays to Thursdays. That's the only time people can schedule calls with me because I don't want to be popping in and out of calls while trying to work on client work or while trying to film videos. I make sure that I'm only available for calls in a short amount of time so that I can go from call to call to call to call instead of breaking up my day so that I'm doing something small here, and then I have a call, Then I do something here, and then I have a call, and then I got to run over here and then I have a call. It just totally messes with your productivity and. And it just gets you out of your zone. Okay, let's move on to the fourth reason why I'm productive. And it's because I have a game plan every week. I know what it is I'm doing that week. Down to the day, down to the hour. I actually recently started focusing on scheduling my entire quarter at a time, so that's three months at a time. If you want to check out that video and how I did that, I'll link it above. But this allows me to see what I need to work on and make sure I'm not overwhelming myself. I. I've done this plenty of times before where I thought I could do all of this in a quarter, and it's totally doable. Now I'm realizing what I can actually take on and only putting that into my schedule. Because if you start to feel overwhelmed, you become less productive and you pretty much just want to hide under your bed and cry. So for me, planning every Sunday, I'm not wasting my time throughout the week to think, what am I doing next? What's next on my task? What project should I be doing? I already know down to the hour, every single thing that I need to do before the kids walk into the door. So the fifth way that helps me be more productive is to avoid over scheduling. Now, I talked a little bit about this on the last one, but what I really do is try not to overload my plate. I try to set just three big tasks every single day that I need to get done. If I got an entire to do list every single day, odds are I'm not going to get it done. I'm going to feel less productive. I'm going to start struggling and thinking that I failed and just be unmotivated. So focus on three major tasks per day, and if you get them done, you could move on to the next task on the next day so that you can kind of get ahead of schedule. I mean, what's ahead of schedule, right? Do you ever get ahead of schedule? The sixth way that I'm productive is to get electronic. Now, I love my Erin Condren planner just like the next person. But it's important for me to have things in this guy right here. The best app that I use to stay productive is Trello. I my team is in Trello. My team knows what they need to do. I can easily move tasks from day to project, and it just lets me see visually what needs to be done so that I can stay on task. It also helps me keep everything in one place so that I don't have 35 different notebooks where I spend all of my time trying to find that darn notebook that I put that list in. Where is that list that I've written out? And I need to find it Instead of doing that, everything is nice and organized in my Trello brain dump. So. So they know, oh, that's what I needed to do. That's the project that needs to be done. It really eliminates me missing any deadlines or getting behind schedule because I've got it on Trello. And what's great is if you're running around doing something and something popped into your head, you can easily put it into your Trello app on your phone, or you can check your Trello schedule to make sure that you're not missing something that day. Because if you're like me, things pop into your head and you totally think, oh, did I miss that? Is that due to what do I got to do? And the most important way for you to stay productive is to take some me time. I did not do this enough in the beginning. And what happens is you start to run yourself ragged. You become less productive, you become less motivated, and you just get less done. Schedule in your calendar a day to relax. Saturdays for me, every single day are a no work day. Yes, there are some times in my business when I do need to work on Saturdays, but. But for the most part, Saturdays are a clear no work day for me. And moving forward, I'm making Fridays a no work day for me either. Fridays are my day to spend with my kids and just kind of take a time away from work because if you get too much into your business it just can run you dry, right? You've got to get those creative juices flowing again and you've got to take that time off. Some of the things that I love to do during this time is to watch Netflix, watch trashy tv, put on a face mask and it just lets you get ready to get back into your week on Monday and be excited and motivated again instead of dreading your huge to do list. Are you currently using any of these things to stay productive in your business? Let me know how you are staying productive because I always love new tips and strategies to be more productive, so let me know down in the comments below.
