People come to me all the time telling me, Trina, YouTube is already saturated. Somebody's already doing my channel idea. I'm never gonna be able to stand out on YouTube. In fact, I don't even think I should get on YouTube. Now. To them, I say, wrong answer. Because here's the thing. There isn't one person out there that we all relate to. We all connect with different types of people in different personalities. So just because somebody out there on YouTube is already doing what you thought you wanted to do, or maybe 10 people are doing what you thought you wanted to do, they're not you. So today I'm going to share with you the best ways you can stand out on YouTube to start growing your channel. Hi, my name is Trina, and on this channel, I help online entrepreneurs like you get on YouTube to grow your business. I've been using YouTube for the past two years to grow my business, and my videos here on YouTube have been my 247 sales team. Like I said, today we're going to talk about how to stand out on YouTube, because you might be thinking, YouTube is already saturated. I'm never going to break out. Well, I'm going to give you the secrets to breaking out right now. And that first secret is thumbnails. Thumbnails are the first impression people are going to get from you on a search or in suggested videos. They have got to pop. You've got to have at least some type of bright color. I can tell you right now, one of the things that I did wrong here on YouTube was using white thumbnails. You see, the background on YouTube is white, so my thumbnails just blended in. And even though I spent a lot of time on those videos and optimizing them and making sure it was good content, I didn't stand out in search. So nobody ended up watching my videos. You can look at my older videos and look at the thumbnails that are white. They have a lot less views than more recent videos, and those videos have been up longer than, say, last week's video. So this is definitely one thing you can do to instantly stand out or on YouTube. The next thing you can do is really focus on your branding. If you're a business owner, you probably already have the gist of your branding down, but you want to make sure your branding is consistent from your channel banner to your thumbnails, to your end slate on your videos to your branded intro. This way, people will recognize you if they see one in your thumbnails and they know they watched one of Your videos before, they're more likely to watch again, they're more likely to subscribe. They see this consistency across all the branding elements on YouTube. Plus, if they already follow you on something like Facebook or Instagram, they can see that branding from those platforms over on YouTube, and they're more likely to recognize you and you stand out. Here's one thing a lot of people don't give a lot of thought to, and it's your channel icon. Sometimes people throw up a logo or they just throw up whatever picture that they have. But this is kind of a really important aspect to stand out on YouTube, because whether you're posting comments to people or responding to comments or your channel shows up in search results or related videos, that icon is what people see. So the best way for you to stand out on that icon is to make sure it's a picture of you. Honestly, people connect a lot quicker and are more likely to click on a channel with a person as that channel icon or that profile picture. You also want to make sure that that picture is a bit zoomed in because it can get really small. So you want to make sure people can see the whites of your eyes. Again, they'll connect a lot quicker by seeing the whites of your eyes. And then just like with thumbnails, you don't want to have a white background because that will tend to blend in. So whether you make it a solid, bright color background or, you know, it has less distractions in the background to really make sure your photo stands out. So we talked a little bit about branding earlier on, and it was basically an encompass of all the branding elements. So I want to talk about two specific branding elements you've got to focus on to really stand out. The first one is your channel banner. Now, whether you hire this out or you do it yourself, I definitely would spend time on this because this is a huge first impression of your channel. They click on your icon and they come to your channel. That's the biggest graphic that shows up on your channel. So you want to have bright colors, you want to have your name, you want to have your picture on there, too, somewhere. You don't want the picture on your banner to be the same as your icon. You want to have that banner image maybe more relatable, maybe more, less professional. Not a headshot, maybe showing you in your elements, sitting at your desk or exercising. If you're a fitness professional. You also want to make sure that you have on there your value proposition so people know why they want to subscribe to you. Now you're not going to be a channel for everybody, and that's a good thing. So you want to just have plastered on there, you know, what value are you going to bring to people so they know whether or not you are for them. If they see that and they see you are for them, they're more likely to click, subscribe and watch more of your videos. Another thing you want to have on that banner is your posting schedule. Because again, you just want people to know that you're uploading content consistently so they have just another reason to subscribe to your channel. Another way to stand out on YouTube is having your YouTube videos consistent. And not by posting consistently, but the format consistent. You'll notice here, on my videos, every video I open with a hook. Then I have my branded intro, the little pink background that says growing your business on YouTube. And then I introduce myself the same way every single time. This creates a consistent video branding element so people know what to expect on my videos. They know this is a video from me. They're more. It goes back to the thumbnail branding and the banner branding and my icon branding. They all fit together so that people are just more comfortable knowing they're watching the right videos that they want to be watching. If you want to make sure you're doing everything you can to stand out on YouTube so you can grow your channel, make sure you grab my YouTube launch roadmap.
