YouTube tags. How do you find them? What is a good tag for your video? And do you even really need YouTube tags? Let's break that down in today's video. Hi, I'm Trina and I'm a YouTube strategist. I started this channel to help creative entrepreneurs like you get on YouTube to grow. Now, if you're new here or you haven't done so yet, make sure you click that red subscribe button down below and hit the little bell notification. That way you'll get notified through email every single time I post a new video to help you. One of the trickiest things to figure out here on YouTube is tags. One of the biggest questions I get asked all the time in my Facebook group and through email is, Trena, what is a great tag? Trena, how many tags do I need? Trena, how do I find tags? First, let's talk about what tags are there to do. Tags are there to just kind of provide additional metadata. So the best tags for you to use is anything that's going to describe what your video is about. This video is about YouTube tags. So that would be a tag I would use. Some other tags that I would use is tag. YouTube tags. Tags for YouTube. YouTube video tags. Video tags. You see what I'm doing? You want to have some very general tags so that you can give that metadata to YouTube. But you could also add some longer tail keywords and like how to find YouTube tags, how to add YouTube tags to your video. Those are some longer keywords that you could use as well. The main point here is to use tags that you would describe to somebody who hasn't watched your video yet. So say you wanted to tell your friend what your video is about. How would you say that? What are some of the words or phrases that you would use to describe what your video is about? The one mistake I see so many people doing with tags is spending too much time stressing over these things. We do not need to stress over tags. Tags are not going to make or break your content. If you really want to stress over something, stress over the content that you're providing. Because that is really the key to Success here on YouTube is creating content people actually watch. Tags are just some information to give to YouTube and to Google to know what what your video is about. It's kind of just some additional information. But what's really going to be game changing that you should focus on, aside from tags, is your audience retention, which is all about the content that you're sharing. So if you do want to add tags, which I suggest you still do because YouTube gives us that option. Add around 15 tags, you know, some single word tags, some longer phrase tags, and just place play with it. Do not, Please do not stress over tags. You're stressing me out. Like I said, they are not going to make or break your video. Now, if you have any questions about YouTube tags or you're still struggling with what to add, let me know down in the comments below and I'd be happy to help you.
