Day In The Life Of An Entrepreneur | Creating a Youtube strategy

This is a YouTube video titled "Day In The Life Of An Entrepreneur | Creating a Youtube strategy" created in August 2017. It features Trena Little sharing a detailed personal vlog about her daily routine as an entrepreneur, focusing on managing her YouTube channel, client work, and productivity strategies. The content includes insights into video posting, social media promotion, and workflow organization in a casual, first-person narrative style.
Sam. So today is a Wednesday, and yes, I did wake up like this. So on Wednesdays, the kids are up early and my husband takes them to his mom's house. So it's now around quarter after six. They left about five minutes ago. I got my coffee, I got my breakfast, and I'm probably gonna start my day today in bed. If you guys follow me or watch any of my other videos, you know that I'm currently in a temporary apartment, so I don't have an office space. It's crammed in here in this office. And most days I start my work days here in bed. So I'm gonna eat my breakfast, drink my coffee, catch up on some YouTube emails, and I will check back in. And yes, you did see a very messy house. Transparency, y'. All. Sometimes I just don't have the time to clean my house. Let me know if you have the same issue. So one of the people I enjoy catching up on is Amy Schmittauer. She's got a lot of great information about YouTube, social media video content. She's just a great resource to watch. And I enjoy eating my breakfast and catching up on her videos. So it's about a half an hour later, and I probably did the same thing that you guys get sucked into. I got sucked into the Facebook world. And so now I'm finally getting to work. And what I'm going to do right now is push a YouTube video live. So why don't I just show you quickly what I do when it's time to post different tags, just different strategies with video. And this is a video contributor video from Ally Marine Design. So what I do is I already have all of this content filled out. I filled it out yesterday when I uploaded the video. So the first thing I'm going to do is go on over here to, to this drop down right here, make it public. I'm going to add a Twitter message and then I'm going to send it live. So then once my video is live, I will actually go, I will like it myself and I will also leave a comment. And the reason why I do this is because people don't want to be the first person to like it or the first person to comment. So I'm going to go ahead and do that for them. When I leave a comment, I'm going to also ask a question to get some engagement in the comment section. Because every time somebody comments, YouTube sees engagement. YouTube recognizes this must be a valuable video because people are engaging. So every time I upload a new video, this is exactly what I do. I like it and then I go comment on it right away. What a lot of people don't actually realize when it comes to YouTube is just because you post a video to YouTube doesn't mean it's going to get any traction. It's so important that you promote that video because every time you share on a platform, you're creating a backlink to YouTube. The more backlinks you can create, the more valuable YouTube sees your video because you're making an effort to get people over to their platform. When you post a video, it's so important that you blast it everywhere. So what I do is I go to all the little social share buttons. If you look below this video, there should be social share buttons. There's like Twitter and Facebook and Pinterest and Tumblr and all of those. And I shared every single one of those buttons. You don't have one of those platforms. Just open an account to share your YouTube videos. I opened a Twitter account, Tumblr account. I don't update it, I don't do anything with it. But I do share my videos to Tumblr every time it goes live because that's creating an additional backlink for YouTube to recognize. So just because you push your video live doesn't mean people are magically going to come watch it. Unless you already have, like thousands of subscribers. But that's how you're really going to start growing attraction with your YouTube channel is getting it out there, sharing it everywhere, letting people see you have a YouTube video and not just putting it there and expecting to. If you build it, they will come. So I do have client calls today. That means I actually have to brush this. Brush this and maybe put some makeup on. So that's what I'm gonna do. Right, Sam? So now why don't I take you into my office? Because why not? It's not too far, you know, my space, my oasis. Not really. So this is my current office at the moment, yes. It's right here in the bedroom with the bathroom. It's covered in papers, post its calendars smashed between two pretty messy closets. But this is what's going to work for now until we move. And so I'm going to go ahead and get to work on my checklist. I have been really bad with Trello recently. So I have everything written out on a paper. I got my coffee ready and it's time to get to work. Just a little summary of what I had to do today. I have some videos to edit to finish up my new video every day in August. It's called Vlog Every Day August, I have two client calls, one at 11 and one at noon and it's currently 7:30. And then I have a co working day every Monday, Wednesday and Friday with my friend Janet of Janet Gwen Designs. And during our co working time we also hold each other accountable. So each Monday, Wednesday and Friday we set a goal for what we want to accomplish by the next time we get on the phone. So we check in, see if we accomplish our goals, mastermind a little bit, and then we set a goal for what we want to achieve in the next hour that we co work and then we hit mute on Skype and get to work and check in on each other at the end of that hour. So got a pretty packed day here today. Like I said, previous videos, Tuesdays and Wednesdays are my big days to get work done since there aren't any kids here. So with that being said, the first thing I'm going to do is go ahead and embed the last two YouTube videos that I uploaded into my website. Because embedding them into your website helps your video SEO. It lets YouTube know that there's another traffic source for this video. So I'm going to go ahead and do that right now. For this month in August, I'm putting a new video up every single day in August. So I don't have a lot of time to focus on my blogs, but I still want to put my videos on my website. What I'm going to do after this month is I'm going to go back in and create Pinterest pinnable images. But for right now, for the image of my blog, I've just been using my thumbnail and then in the text of my blog, I've just been using what I write in the description box. So my post generally looks something like this. So I have the title right up here. And then this is an image. So technically people could pin this if they wanted to. For right now I have just a quick little description incorporating keywords and then I embed my video and this is my way to just keep up with embedding my videos and to eventually go back in and update these posts. Also, does anybody else's desktop look a little bit something like this? Let me know in the comment section. Do you have a messy desktop? Are you a type A personality that has to have everything clean? Alright, so I'm not done a very good job vlogging today. It's now almost one and I'm just Now eating dinner. I spent the afternoon, the morning editing my brain. Right. I edited two videos and I also did a screen tutorial. And the way that I do like my tutorials on my screen is I use a program called Screenflow. And so I worked through a tutorial of how I use Trello, which thank you think Creative collective for Trello for Business. Because that course changed my life. So if you're interested, I will link that down below. But I did a tutorial on how I use Trello. I then my client actually canceled her call, but I ended up getting a call from my best friend who lives in Denver. And so we ended up getting to chat and then I had another client call and we just went through so many great ideas for her channel. She does yoga. I was able to give her a clearer path to what she should be doing to improve her channel. I just love being able to do those videos and for people to have such like aha moments and get excited for YouTube because that's ultimately what I want people to do is be excited for YouTube. So now I'm gonna eat lunch, leftover Chipotle. And yeah, that is my messy house. Real life, my house is a wreck. That is a treadmill because we're currently living in this tiny house and that's a messy table that I haven't cleaned up yet. And I think that's probably quinoa. That's life, guys. Transparency Tuesday here today on Tips with Trina. So yep, you guessed it. I am still sitting here working away. Started optimizing my YouTube live for tomorrow. A lot of people don't realize that you can optimize your YouTube live and get ranking in search results while you're live so you can get in front of a larger audience. And what I do is I always have an opt in in my description box that I call out. So while people are watching me live, whether I promoted it or not, I can get them on my list. And so I just optimized it, got my links in there, created the thumbnail. And you really want to treat YouTube live just like any other YouTube video and optimize it. And then I was supposed to have a co working date but she's a little behind. She's having some payroll issues. We are going to work on creating our 90 day year. I would love to hear if you guys have ever gone through that process, the 90 day year. Let me know down below. This will be my first time. She's going to explain it to me. We're going to plan out our next 90 days, I'm working on client videos. And so what I do for them is basically we come up with all the content ideas, and then I research them. So I come up with the title, the thumbnails, the description box, content, and all of that fun stuff. And then they film the videos, they edit the videos, and they upload it to YouTube. I then have access to their YouTube channel. I title it, optimize it, fill out the description box, transcribe it, create a thumbnail, basically handle all the back end stuff so that it's ready to go. My client posts. This client posts videos on Fridays and Mondays, so I like to have those done at least two days in advance so that if anything comes up that they are ready to go. So right now I'm just transcribing her video and then I'm gonna create a thumbnail, and that's as exciting as it gets. You guys, what does your day typically look like? Do you ever change up your work site? Like, do you go to a coffee shop or go to a park or how do you change up? I feel like I get more work done when I'm sitting here, but I also hear that people say that they get more work done outside of their office. So get these client videos done and. Yeah. See you soon. Who is it? Who is it?
