Do THIS YouTube Keyword Research If You Want To Sell More In Your Online Business

Trena Little, a YouTube strategist, explains why traditional keyword research fails for selling and shares a method to find videos that attract ready-to-buy customers. She covers building content that works with the YouTube algorithm to generate leads and sales for your business.
You don't want to do YouTube keyword research the way you hear most people talk about keyword research here on YouTube, especially if you want to use YouTube in your business to increase leads, increase traffic and increase sales in your business. But you do have to understand keyword research and a process of keyword researching so that you know you're creating the right content for future leads and future clients. Because let's get real here. We aren't creating content for the fun of it. We are business owners, we are entrepreneurs and we are creating a content marketing plan that drives US revenue. We went ROI on each video that we publish. So I'm going to show you this specific YouTube keyword research process that is going to be for those of you who want to use YouTube for more leads, more clients and more sales in your online courses. This is the process that has helped me get to over half a million million in revenue the past couple of years and that I've helped multi six figure and seven figure business owners use as well to make sure their videos have ROI to them. If you are new to my channel, my name is Trina Little and I am a YouTube strategist for course creators, coaches and online service providers. I focus on teaching businesses how to generate revenue to their business from YouTube videos and not chase vanity metrics like subscribers that aren't actually putting money in your bank. I want to jump right in and talk about how you've probably heard about keyword research here on YouTube. Most people here will tell you to come up with a YouTube idea. Take a look at YouTube search, look at competitors, go into Facebook groups, figure out an idea that you have, plug that idea into a tool like Tubebuddy or Vidiq, see how many searches that topic is getting per month and what is the competition you're going to run up against with this video. Most people will say if there are more than 100 searches per month and the competition is between low to medium, that's going to be a good topic for you to create a video on. Hit the like button right now if you've heard this over and over and over again. Because I'm going to tell you this is not the way to do it. Especially if you are a business owner wanting to generate leads and profit from your YouTube channel. And if you like the idea of doing a keyword research process once and having months, maybe even a year worth of strategic content ideas for your YouTube channel. Because the way you hear about doing YouTube keyword research is not going to help you generate a Binge able experience on your YouTube channel. And if you want the algorithm to love your channel, love your content, push more of your videos to more people, you've got to be creating binge worthy sessions. And if you want to be warming up cold leads to ultimately saying heck yes, I need to work with it. Heck yes, I want her course. You need to be creating series of videos that your co lead is going to watch video after video after video till they become a client. Those are the two main reasons why it is going to be critical for you to not just focus on keyword researching each video each week that you want to create, but building out an entire YouTube content strategy with a huge keyword research session. Because these binge sessions make the algorithm happy to push your videos to more people and make your business happy. Because you're warming up people to becoming your client, your student. Basically being a sales team of videos working for you 24 hours a day. Not only has this way of keyword research helped me generate over $20,000 from one client who found me on YouTube, which I talked about in last week's video, which you can watch here, but I seen my coaching clients in agency. Clients get the results time and time again when they create these series of videos that make the algorithm happy, get the viewer to warm up and know you and ultimately turn them into paying clients or customers. So if that's how you want to do YouTube keyword research, how do you do that? Well, this is a process that I initially learned from a mentor of mine, Tom Martin, and I saw him first talk about this process at VidSummit in 2019. I've since taken this particular process. I, I've tweaked it, I changed it a little bit and I tested it not only on my channel, but on clients in my agency that are multi six and seven figure business owners. And what we found is by doing this particular keyword research process for YouTube and building a content strategy on YouTube, not only do we build out a strategy for sometimes a year in advance, but we are able to see consistent leads and sales come from our YouTube channels because they watch multiple videos at a time and because YouTube pushes their content out to more people by creating these binge sessions. Now this keyword research process for YouTube is essential because it basically gives you all the information, all the content ideas that your target audience, or what I like to call your ready to buy audience is searching on YouTube for. This process helps you find more specific videos that are relevant to your ready to buy audience and the pain points that they're having and the problems that they're actually typing into YouTube looking to have solved. I want to be clear here that I didn't say niche, I said target audience or you're ready to buy audience. You want to think about the people you are going to get to view your videos are the people that are going to be ready to buy from you. Whether you have a service in an agency or a coaching program, or you have courses or a digital product, you need to think about that viewer and what they are looking on YouTube for. Now this could be rounded into a niche, but the reason why you need to understand this ready to buy viewer and you need to do a keyword research process around them is because it's going to help that ready to buy viewer find your content faster. Because you're going to build a library of relevant content that they are looking for. But more importantly, it's going to help the YouTube algorithm classify your channel a lot quicker. Because the reason why you hear niching here on YouTube is because if you put all these different types of videos out, like you put a video out about email marketing and then you put a video out about cleaning your closet and then you put a video out about what you eat in a day, and then you put a video out about a day in the life as a PTO mom. I don't know, I'm throwing ideas out there. These are videos all different types of people are going to watch. And so when YouTube puts this video out to the person that maybe watched your email marketing video and they don't click on it, YouTube is like, okay, why is this what I eat in a day video not hitting this audience? This must not be the right audience. So the algorithm then becomes confused. Who should they put your video in front of? Who is the best person to watch this video? Because the goal of the algorithm is to show people the most relevant videos they're going to watch. YouTube is going to put on people's homepages specific videos that it calculates and does all this algorithm stuff to most likely to click on. And so if you can create a library of content on your YouTube channel that is incredibly relevant to your ready to buy viewer, YouTube will be able to understand much quicker who your ready to buy viewer is and put your videos in front of them a lot quicker. So if you don't want to be wasting your time on YouTube and you want to see growth quicker, as in getting more people to see your content and then buy from you, you've got to utilize this Keyword research process for YouTube as a general content strategy and not just doing one off YouTube keyword processes. So the first step that you need to do to start doing this particular process for keyword research is you need to come up with about 20 to 25 primary words. Now these 20 to 25 words would be broad topics that would cover your entire niche or your entire ready to buy viewer. Let me give you a few examples here first and if you can come up with 20 to 25 words, let me know in the comments that you did it. If you need help coming up with it, let me know who you are selling to or what your niche is and I can help you come up with it down in the comments. Okay, so a copywriter, let's say I'm working with a copywriter specifically she is a conversion copywriter. She focuses on creating copy that converts leads to sales. All right. Some of her primary words are another way to think of it is if you have a website, what are the main words that you are trying to rank on Google for with your website? So for her this may be sales copywriter, launch copy copy that sells website copy, email copy, blog copy, brand message, customer voice, how to write a sales page AI copy using AI for sales copy. These are broad topics that still are tying into her overall conversion sales copy niche. But her ready to buy viewer would be searching all of these topics on Google or YouTube. Let me show you another example of a brand photographer. So this is an example of a brand photographer client that I worked with and you can see some of her primary words are branding photographer, book more branding photography clients, brand photography, poses photography client management system, branding, photo shoot booking, four figure branding, photo photography clients. Right? You want to think about these broad topics that your ready to buy viewer would be searching for. Very similar to like what I said about the convert version copywriter as well. Now this is just another example that I am hoping gives you a few ideas of what your primary words would be. Because now I want to show you what we actually do with these words. You're going to pull up Vidiq and like I mentioned, if you go to the pricing plans, you only need to use Pro and you could probably get what you need done in one month. So you would only need to pay one month and then you could cancel it. So just a little tip, otherwise we're going to go into my account. Once you're in Vidiq, you're going to actually go to keywords right up here and we're going to use the conversion.
