So the more people over there, the merrier and they Might just have a question that you don't and you could learn something from it. So we're going to go ahead and get started with channel reviews. So if you got a volunteer. If we got a volunteer, please volunteer down below and we'll get started here. I know it was Ways to Grow was on first. I Budget Girl, are you on here? I don't know if she popped on too early. Budget Girl, are you on here or not? But I'm going to start with Ways to Grow. Are you currently on here live? Ways to Grow. Can you share with me your name so that I can ask you questions and speak to you with your name? Find myself slouching. I blame it on lack of sleep. So Ways to Grow. If you can pop your name in there just to verify you are still on here live, otherwise your channel review will get forfeited to somebody else who is here live. That's the only requirement. ST7 designs is that you are here live with me as I do the channel. Channel review. All right. So you can call me Ms. Grow. Okay, so we're gonna go ahead and review Ms. Grow's channel. I have got to a little behind here, friends. Let me just get this going so that we can do this. I'm trying, but I think I'm missing something. Life with Twan. I guess you would be the next person if the budget girl is not here. Budget girl, I don't think she's here. So Life with Twana, you will be next, so don't worry. All right, so let me find your channel. We're going to go to your channel and I'm going to share my screen with you all so you can see what I'm looking at as we go through this. And remember, we do this every Wednesday except next Wednesday. The training is going to be happening over@trina little.com forward/awesome videos. All right, Ways to Grow. I know you said that this was an animated video and you are doing pretty Great. This has 104,000 views. But I think what might make you connect better with people is showing yourself. I have a feeling you don't want to, but when we're thinking about YouTube strategy, we're thinking about three types of content. We're thinking about discoverable content. We're thinking about community content, and then sales content. It looks like you're probably doing a lot of discoverable content. How to stay productive, ways to fill your notebooks. All great discoverable content. But how can this person get to know you more? Those are those community videos to really dig down and get that person to connect with you. I have a feeling none of these videos actually show who you are. But to really take your YouTube channel to that next level is going going to be important for some for people to have somebody to connect with. So, Ms. Grow, if you could, what are your biggest hurdles right now with your YouTube channel? What are you struggling with most? Because it looks like you're getting a lot of great views. I just want to make sure that I'm answering and taking this review in the direction that you find it valuable. So let me know what's your biggest hurdle right now with your channel. I would potentially make these thumbnails more branded so that we know it's ways to grow, possibly using this logo maybe in the corner right here. And that goes to all of you guys. If you can consistently brand your thumbnails in a way that people know it is your videos. So you'll know. If we go back to my videos, let me flip back here and open this in a new tab in all of my thumbnails. I actually brand them a similar color and then they all have this little pink corner right here. And so if you see this corner and my initials tl, you're gonna know that's my video. And so it's consistently showing up across all of my channels. You'll see we recently changed branding, so I did not go back and change all of these thumbnails. But for a better part of the year, I've been branding my channels with this little tab so that people always know this is a Trina video. You'll see these are some older video, but this has been more consistently. Ms. Gross says, I would like some advice on thumbnails and also if I should niche down to only study tips videos. All right, so let's go back. I think those thumbnail tips would definitely help you just niching them and really figuring out how. I mean, branding them and making sure your branding is consistent because you see your colors are all over the place here. We have pink, we have purple, we have green, we have yellow, we have blue, we have stock photos. There's no consistency across the board. Having a consistent branding on your thumbnails makes your videos stand out. And if somebody's watched one of your videos before, they're more likely to click another one of your videos. Plus you want your videos to stand out and suggested. So let's say if we were to watch this particular video, let's wait for this ad to be over because I'm going to show you here in. So if I'm over here in Suggested, I want my thumbnails to stand out because let's say I just watched one of your videos. I was like, wow, that's really awesome. I want to watch another video of hers. So I go over here to Suggested to see what's coming up next. And none of your videos are coming up, but none of your videos. Your thumbnails are consistent for it to pop out that it's one of your videos. So if one of my videos showed up, they would be able to easily see the pink corner. Right? Just like with Amy's, hers are easily seen because they have the same style. So it shows Amy in every single video thumbnail so that her videos stand out a lot easier. The same with Think Media. They have a consistent branding. If you go to their thumbnails, for example, let's go over here and I'll show you their consistency and point out some of his consistencies for his thumbnails. You'll see the text is always the same. It's the same font with the black background and the white text. Sean is basically in every single thumbnail as well, so that it really stands out. So you can see how all of his thumbnails are really tied together. Even when he's not in this one, the font and the text is still the same so that there's consistency throughout the. I'm new to all of this and afraid to look silly. I need help with all of it across the board. So whole soul, mama, you just gotta get started. The only way you're gonna get better is if you just do it more. And then we can help you once you start doing it. But you won't be able to get better until you start doing it. More ways to grow. Great advice. I'll make sure to follow your thumbnail tips and make them more consistent. Yeah. So it's a branding thing, and it goes back to business. Bas each, your business should have a branding board. And let me see if I can pull up my branding board for you guys so you can get an idea of what a branding board looks like. For me. Let me. I think it's in here. Let's see if my branding board is in here. So for me, these are my colors. So this is part of my brand. And I know that all of my colors need to tie back into these four swatches. So I would suggest it be easy for you. If you can come up with, like, four colors that can be your primary colors. You can also go to Pinterest Pinterest has a lot. If you search Pinterest and you come on Pinterest and you search brand boards, you go to brand boards. This will help all of you. Every single YouTube channel should be branded. And this is what you're looking for. So this is what a brand board generally looks like. You can get an idea of the style. So you know like this person, what their style is going to look like. This is their color palette, this is their font, this is the same font they're going to use in every single thumbnail so that the thumbnail stays consistent. This would be the color that you use in every single thumbnail. Okay, so what I would do is I would just go to Pinterest and look at some of these and see if there's any color, color swatches that you like. Totally. You can use what's here, you don't have to come up with your own because professionals are doing this as well. And just look at some of the colors and which ones go together. These are professionals again, putting these together. So it gives you great advice on what thumbnails, what colors look good together. And again, you also, not only colors, but you also want to look at fonts as well. Alright, so for fonts, let's see this person is using. They have their fonts. Yeah, here are their fonts down here so that they have consistency across the board with fonts and colors. Alright. So I hope that helps you guys. Trust me, having a clear brand on YouTube is really going to take your channel to that next level. And so I think ways to grow, that's probably one great way. But I also think if you could show more of yourself and really connect with your audience, that would help as well. As far as niching, let me just see what your most popular videos are. So you said you were doing different types, so I would think about your audience. What's your audience looking for? Is your audience college students, is your audience high school students or is your audience out of school? That's where I would focus your niche. So either in college because they have in school, we could even do in school because college and high school kids kind of need the same types of study tips, self development and study tips. Whereas somebody not in school, it would be totally different for them. And also think whether they're a mom because their self development and study productivity tips need to be completely different than somebody who isn't a mom and doesn't have kids. So that's where I want you to think about who your target audience is when you're thinking about niching. All right, let me get some of these questions here. So I'll flip my screen around so you guys can see me while I answer some of your questions. Before we jump onto the next channel, I'm going to pull this up. Hold on. So let's see. Go ahead and drop you guys questions. Let's see. I'm curious about my branding and thumbnails too, as well as my overall quality. Brianna. Yeah, that's a great advice is to go those brand boards and really focus on using the same colors and the same font in every single thumbnail. All right. That's just going to keep your branding consistent, having your channel banner those colors as well. If you have text in your videos, keeping it consistent as well. Having a consistent branding across your channel really makes it stand out and makes it look more professional. Teacherpreneur. I have a channel for teachers. I'm a novice, but I have a doubt whether I should upload same videos in two language on the channel or stop it. No. So one language for one channel. If you want to do another language, do it on another channel. Because what happens is, let's say English speaking teacher subscribes to your channel. They're really excited. Like they watched a video of yours, they're super excited about your next new video and then it comes out in another language. They subscribe to your channel for English speaking videos. So when something else comes out, they're like, wait, this isn't what I signed up for. And then they're going to leave and unsubscribe. So do one channel in one specific language. How do you find out? David Hora says, how do you find out how long people have watched your videos? So you want to go into analytics, your analytics, and then you want to pull up the particular video and you'll want to look at audience retention and that's where you're going to see how long people watch your video. Ideally, you're not wanting the average audience retention number. You want to look at the end of video retention number and you want to shoot for 50% there. So let's see Life with Twanna. So color font, your picture and even shape matter in branding your channel. I think. Yes. But let's review your channel real quick, Life with Twana and we'll see what you're working with. All right, I'm going to try to find where we are and go to your channel and share my screen with you all. All right, so the first thing that I would do, Twana, is Update your channel banner. You really want to highlight yourself and make sure it fits in the screen here. So keep it very minimal. The text is a bit hard to read as well, so you want to make that font bold and easy to see. You also want to kind of minimize text on your channel banner because remember, it's going to get really small in mobile devices. So keep it pretty minimal and really shrink this down a bit. I know it can be difficult when you're trying to size it for the TV image as well, but remember, people probably aren't going to look at your channel on tv. So I would just focus on creating an optimized video optimized thumbnail for desktop. And don't worry about all that extra space for tv. Also, I can't see the top, but who are you speaking to here, Tawana? Are you speaking to college students? Are you speaking to high school students? What value are they going to get out of your channel? For me right now I'm just seeing uploads, popular videos, and past livestreams, so it's not really giving me a highlight reel of what you're talking about. So if I were you, I would create a playlist that says my favorite crafting videos are the best easy crafting videos you can do this weekend and put in your crafting videos and make that a playlist right here so that people know you're creating videos on crafting. I'm 47 and I'm blogging and crafting. Okay, so what you want to focus on is what your audience is looking for. If you are vlogging and you want to craft, you need to vlog about crafting. So you want to vlog about going to Hobby Lobby to get craft supplies or going to Michaels to get craft supplies. You want to avoid like Get Ready with Me makeup routine. That doesn't have anything to do with crafting. And you need to sit clear with your niche to get in front of your audience with this. Happy New Year Haul, Hobby Lobby, Walmart. I need a title that tells me why I want to watch this. So something like the Best New Year supplies from Hobby Lobby and Walmart right now. There's no reason for me to watch this with this title. That title has to be Value proposed. That goes for all of you guys. When you're creating titles, don't just jam in keywords like Get Ready with Me Daily Makeup routine, Getting Ready for the Day. This title needs to really pitch a value. So if you see all my videos, I've been working really hard on my titles recently. And so you'll see top five YouTube tips that aren't true. What I would do if I was just starting a YouTube channel. Nine reasons why no one's watching your videos. You see how that isn't keyword stuff. It's really telling people what they're going to get out of watching this video. So launch a successful YouTube channel in 2019. This one's interesting because people want to know if somebody was starting their YouTube channel over, what would they do? So that's what I would focus on as well, is really focusing on titles that tell people what they're going to get out of watching your video, even if it's a vlog. Unfortunately, people don't really care who we are. Stop. I don't know why, but I'm just getting all these calls today. It is driving me bonkers. What I would focus on is really telling people what they're going to get out of watching your videos, especially as you're growing an audience. So. So 7st7 Design says, how do you think we could connect with more with our audience titles? Making titles really pitch to them the value they're going to get out of watching your videos. I think you could definitely work with some better thumbnails as to Tawana. So I think that's kind of what you want to focus on is honing in on your niche and also thumbnails and branding that we talked about a little bit as well. So let me pop back in and ask some, answer some of you guys questions. Hi, I'm having it. Yeah. So I would watch. There are some YouTube tutorials. I also have it. I have a tutorial on channel banner. How to make a channel banner. I would watch that and follow that. Just focus on the little middle spots in the template because that's what's most important. You can try making your content is search friendly in the crafting niche. Yeah. So you'll also want to balance it from search friendly to also people friendly. So robots aren't reading our titles and watching our videos. Humans are. So the titles have to be really optimized for human viewing. Right. If somebody just said how to get more YouTube views and then there was a video right beside it that said five easy ways you can get YouTube views this weekend, that one seems more value proposed than the other one. Right. Because you know you're going to get five reasons five ways and you know you're going to be able to do it by the end of the weekend. So I want you to think about that when you're crafting your titles, really pitch the value of your video in that title because that's really going to help you get more clicks. And the more clicks you can get, the more people watching your videos to the end, the more YouTube is going to push more of your content out to more people. I think I am going to wrap up channel reviews today. My daughter is sick and I hear her crying over there. So I'm probably going to go take care of her since she's not feeling well today. I think I answered that question. Just listening to you gives me more confidence. Oh, that's great. Yeah, I would definitely Whole Soul Mama. Just start creating videos because the only way you're going to get better and figure it out is if you do it. And if you want to look at terrible videos, you can look at my first videos. You can go to my mom channel. Those are the very, very first videos that I did before I even started this channel. So you can go look at them and see how I did not look this well on camera. I did not have this background, I did not have this lighting set up. I just started creating videos. So if you want a confidence boost, go watch my old cringy videos. And I can't wait to see you there. Bye, guys. Thank you so much for your kind words, and see you soon.
