How To Avoid Getting Distracted - 3 Tips for Staying Focused on Business

Trena Little shares three ways online entrepreneurs can stay focused: define your target audience, create business processes, and work on one project at a time. Planning ahead keeps distractions from derailing your growth.
Being a business owner, our focus can be pulled in so many different directions. What social media platform should we be on? Should we be email marketing? How do we email market? Should we be sending newsletters? Should we be blogging? Should we be video blogging? There's so many different things that our focus on our business can totally be distracted. So today I wanted to talk about focusing on growing your business and how to really do that without being pulled in super many different directions. Hey guys, welcome back to Just the Tips with Trena where I provide online entrepreneurs tips and tricks on how to create a video content strategy that works for them and their business. If you're new to this channel, make sure you go ahead and click that subscribe button right below and go ahead and follow me on social media. I'm at all these places right up here. Like I said today, I wanted to give you a few tips on how to really focus on growing your business and not getting distracted by all the things. The first, the first thing I want you to do to really master your focus is have a defined target audience or have an ideal client in mind. Once you really define who this audience is and who you really want to reach, it's really going to help you focus all of your content to really help that specific person. This is the client that you plan to work with. These are the people that you really want to reach. Without having a target audience, you just kind of stick sticking things out there and hoping something stays. You can't help everybody. I know you might start thinking out, well, I could do this for everybody. But in reality, once you niche down, it's really, really going to help your focus and ultimately grow your business a lot faster than trying to do all the things for everybody. Next, I want you to start creating some processes for your business. So what I mean by that is set up graphic templates. So if you are blogging, have a template so that when you create your blog, you just throw in the headline and it's done. The template's already created. Have a process on how you're going to intake clients. Have a process on how you're going to respond to emails. Another great way to really streamline your processes in your business is to actually pay for some systems. The best systems that I've invested in is Buffer, which is which I use for my Twitter and my Instagram. These are great because I can sit down and plan all of that ahead and not have to worry about it on a day to day basis. I also invested in Tailwind, which is a program where I can plan out all my pins on Pinterest. Because Pinterest has become my number one traffic source, not only to my website, but also here to my YouTube channel. So investing in those two systems have really been worth the money and it's been saved me so much time to allow me to focus on other important things in my business. Finally, focus on one program or one project at a time. What I mean by this is if you decided you wanted to create a course, just focus on creating your course. Or maybe you decided you wanted to create a coaching program, just focus on creating that coaching program. Don't try to do all of these things at once because your focus will be taken to all these different directions and you're not going to really give the time to each project that you should to make it successful. If you want to create a course, go all in with that course. Put all your focus into that course before you move on to your next project. I know from experience trying to do all the things at once, it's definitely not going to work out. So pick one and roll with it. Finally, I'm going to give you a little bonus tip on how to really master your focus is to sit down and plan out your week at a time. If you can even do a month at a time or a quarter at a time, this is going to be amazing because you're not pulling your focus away from other projects by planning ahead. If you can sit down and plan out your week or your month or your quarter, you can sit down in the morning to start your business day and already know what it is you need to get done to get to your ultimate goal. It really helps you focus. It really helps your business grow quicker to have that plan and have that blueprint.
