Trena shows where to find collaborators for your online business: Twitter chats, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, and email lists. Look for creators with similar audience size and the same target audience. Try guest posts, joint webinars, or social media takeovers.
You want to collaborate with people, but you aren't sure how to do it. You're not sure how to find someone to collaborate with, and you're not sure what you should collaborate on. Well, I'm going to answer these questions today in this video. Hey guys, welcome back to another episode of Just the Tips with Trena where I provide online business owners quick tips on how to create video content for their business and business strategy while usually sipping on some coffee or wine. But since I'm baking a baby for another four months, not till then. If you aren't subscribed to this channel, go ahead and click this button right now. So how to start collaborating with other bloggers, video makers, business owners? First you need to find someone you want to collaborate with. You can find these people in Twitter chats, or maybe someone you follow on Instagram or Snapchat, or somebody maybe that you admire and watch on YouTube or that you are an email subscriber of theirs. You'll want to just reach out, make sure that they are similar size as you because it needs to be equally beneficial for you and the person you're collaborating with. So if you're collaborating with somebody who has half the viewers you do, it's not going to be beneficial for you. And the same thing goes if you are reaching out for somebody who has millions and millions of followers but you only have a couple thousand, it's not really going to be beneficial for them. You also want to make sure you both are targeting the same audience. If you are a business owner focusing on website design, you're obviously not going to reach out to somebody who teaches how to cook or has cookbooks. The audience just isn't going to match. You want to have similar audiences to target. So what could you even collab on? Well, you could do a guest blog post on their blog and they could also do one for you. Just gives you access to their audience. You could also do guest video post, which I ask people for all the time here on my channel. Every Wednesdays I try to have somebody here giving their tip on their expertise and it's just a great way to collaborate with them and build a friendship with somebody else. You could also do joint venture webinars where you're teaching your content to their audience or they're teaching their content to your audience. It's working out for both of your audiences really. And finally, one of the most fun ways to collaborate is doing Takeover. So take over somebody's Instagram for the day or somebody's Snapchat for the day or someone's Twitter. It's just a great way for their followers to get to know you and for you to get your message out there and to really grow your following. Have you done any collaborations?
