The content is a single-speaker tutorial where the presenter shares various tips, tools, and hacks for generating fresh content ideas for platforms like blogs, YouTube, podcasts, and Instagram. The speaker explains how to use tools such as TubeBuddy, Keyword Surfer, answerthepublic.com, and audience engagement methods like polls and surveys to consistently come up with new content topics. The video is instructional and aimed at content creators looking to overcome creative blocks.
If you ever get stuck on coming up with content ideas for Your blog, your YouTube channel, your podcast, or even what to post on Instagram, in this video, I'm going to share some tips, some tools, and some hacks that I use to come up with fresh new content ideas for all of the platforms. Hit that like button if you're ready to dig in. Now, it doesn't matter if you're a YouTuber, you're a blogger, you're a podcaster, you still need to be showing up consistently on whatever platform you choose. And coming up with new ideas is exhausting. You can just sit, simply run out of ideas. So here's exactly what I do when I'm feeling stuck and like, I literally cannot talk about anything else. One of the first places I go to is TubeBuddy. And I really like to go to the keyword explorer to just come up with some ideas. Now, a lot of people may use these as tags for their YouTube videos, but I'm using it to really generate different ideas. So let me show you how I do that on TubeBuddy. So TubeBuddy is another Google Chrome extension. I like to use the keyword expand explorer part of TubeBuddy. And a lot of people use TubeBuddy to find tags and SEO for their video, but I'm using it more for topic generation. So I'm going to type in here, organizing your daily schedule, and I'm going to see what TubeBuddy comes up with. Again, I'm going over to the common video tags area, not using these for tags, but using these to spark ideas of types of videos that I could do. So maybe I could do a video on how to schedule your day or potentially how to be more productive. Again, these are two separate video ideas, still part of my niche, but I could look at them different ways. Also, organization hacks. Could I talk about organization hacks for my day? We can also use TubeBuddy to see what is trending on the Internet. If we take a search term like time management, we can start to see when it is trending. You can see here in November, it starts to peak time management tips. And you can see it looks like a pretty good evergreen video because it never really peaks and dies out. It's a consistent content topic that people are searching throughout the entire year. Now, let's say we type in plan your day. We can see if there's any different type of trending here. You can see a lot of people are looking at how to better plan their day here in January and February. But that's what I'm using Tubebuddy for. Another place a lot of people tend to go to is Keywords Everywhere. But recently Keywords Everywhere is no longer free. So I found an alternative for you that's just as good. It's called Keyword Surfer. Now this is is more Google centric. So if you're specifically working on YouTube, remember people search Google a little bit differently than YouTube. But let me show you how I use Keyword surfer. Once you install keyword surfer as part of your Google Chrome extension, when you type in any kind of search term, Keyword Surfer is going to tell you some data. So we're going to type in how to schedule your day. And what you're going to see here is Keyword Surfer is giving you some data. Specifically I'm looking over here at the similar keywords. So this is more. More video ideas that you could create based on that topic. How to schedule your day, maybe making a schedule, daily schedule. And if you keep scrolling down, you're going to see related searches too. So these are other great topics that you could create. I need a schedule for my life. How to schedule your day for optimal productivity. How to plan your day to be productive. Again, more content ideas for you to create for your channel using Keyword Surfer. Another great place is questions, questions you're getting in your inbox. Questions. Maybe you're getting on social media questions you see in Facebook groups. So if you're in Facebook groups, just go into the search query of that Facebook group and type in your niche. So if you're a copywriter, maybe people are having website copy problems or landing page copy problems. For me, I just go into a Facebook group and type in YouTube and see what questions are being asked around YouTube. And if there are, would it lead to a bigger video idea? Is it a question that I could answer on a YouTube video? So I just scroll through here. Oh, here's a great video topic idea. It was a question asked and then I can create that video. Here's another hack that I do to come up with ideas is I look at other people's comments of their YouTube videos. So there are other videos out there about how to start a YouTube channel or how to create thumbnails. I go to those videos and I scroll down to the comments section and I just scroll through there to see if there are any specific questions. This is going to help you spin off ideas. Maybe it's not about starting a YouTube channel or about creating a thumbnail. And maybe somebody had a question about how do I pick colors for my thumbnails or how do I make photos for my thumbnails? Those are ideas I can use for videos. Another place is answerthepublic.com Now, I don't use this one a whole lot, but if I'm totally stuck on content ideas and I'm just like, I have no idea what my content is going to be next month, I'll go to answerthepublic.com just to spark some new ideas. Maybe it'll help me put a new spin on some content that I've already done. And I can deliver that same kind of content only from a different angle. Let me show you how to use that. Okay, so when you go to answer the public, you can go in and type in your scroll subject. Like, what did you talk about? We typed in time management here. And it just spawns out a whole bunch of different questions based on who, what can, where. And you can see these different questions that are listed right here, which are all great video ideas. If this is the topic that you speak about on your YouTube channel so that you're never running out of ideas. Another way to find some ideas is ask your audience. Now, you don't have to have a large audience to do this. And if nobody responds back to you, that's okay. It's not going to be the end all, be all. Maybe send your email list a question. So we do this about every other quarter. We will send out a survey in Google forms, and we'll send an email and say, hey, you know, we're gonna give away five Starbucks gift cards for anybody who fills this out. Can you please just let us know what kind of content you're looking for, what you're struggling with right now? Keep the survey super simple and give them that incentive. So our incentive is we're gonna give away five gift cards to Starbucks, and that helps get people to answer those questions. So I use Google forms. I keep my questions super simple so that it's easy for people to answer. But I'm also wanting to make sure that I can pull some content from them. So this is what I've used. You can also go on Instagram. And the easiest way to get feedback on Instagram is doing a poll. Now you can do the question box and say, what kind of content do you want from me? But if you're struggling with should I post content on YouTube or should I post content about creating videos on Instagram? You can put that in a poll and I can say, would you rather have content on how to make videos on YouTube on the one side of the pole or Instagram on one side of the poll. People are much more likely to tap on a poll than they are to type in and answer your question in a question box. I also love the YouTube community tab, and this is only available after you have a thousand subscribers, I think. But posting polls in here has been really helpful to me when I'm stuck with what kind of content I create. Next week I'm going to actually be creating a video specifically for what my audience voted on. I wasn't sure if I wanted to do a video on how to promote your videos on Instagram or just how to promote your videos in general. And you can see with the results that a lot of people just want to see how to promote your videos and not specifically Instagram. So that really helped me craft my content for what my audience wants from me. Another quick place that I like to go to is podcasts. I like to go to podcasts in the business section of itunes and just see what some of the titles are. I don't even necessarily listen to the content, but I'm just looking at titles to see if it can spawn some ideas or spark some creativity over topics. Some of some of the podcasts that I like to look at to get some ideas are the Strategy Hour from Boss Project. Also go to Jenna Kutcher's Gold Digger podcast and also Amy Porterfield, because she always has good topics that can help me figure out what people are wanting to hear. Now, once you have this list of content ideas, the quickest way to create your content is to batch it. And if you want to see exactly how I batch an entire month's worth of content in just one day, watch the video that's on your screen right now. I'm going to walk you through it step by step, bring you behind the scenes. So click on that video and see you over there.
