Trena Little shares three ways to get more YouTube views: create custom thumbnails, promote videos across social media and email lists, and use additional resources for video content creation. Practical advice for business owners trying to improve their video marketing.
So you created video content for your business. First of all, congratulations. That's amazing. That's such a great step. But your video has only received 10 views. You spent all this time on video and you get 10 views. Don't worry. Today I'm going to give you three tips on how you can get more views on that video. Welcome back to another episode of Just the Tips with Trena where I provide you some business advice that you can take action on today. Today we're going to talk about how you can get more views on your video. I know you spent a lot of time creating these videos and you really want to make sure that they're being seen by as many people as possible. So the first tip I have for you, if you're uploading this to YouTube, which I suggest you are, you want to make a custom thumbnail for every video that you upload. This custom thumbnail is basically your marketing material. This is how you're going to get people to click on your video to watch it. So make sure that thumbnail is branded with your colors and your fonts of your business and it's eye catchy so people will want to click on it. Next, I want you to promote your video everywhere. Don't just upload it and expect people to find it. Post it on Twitter, post it on Facebook, post it on Instagram, put it on your blog. Just put it everywhere. I like to post to Twitter about four times the first day I upload a new video and, and I'll even pin that video to the top of my profile. So even though you're posting it four times, not everybody is seeing it that four times. That's why it's not annoying. That's why it's not obnoxious. Everybody's on Twitter at a different time. So just post it four to five times that first day and just keep posting it throughout the week. I also like to create a little 15 to 30 second teaser clip from my video and then I will post that clip onto Instagram and tell people to click on the link in my bio to watch the entire video. And then I'll do the same thing on Facebook where I will upload that clip natively to Facebook and in the description, tell people to head on over to my YouTube to watch the entire video. The third tip that I have is to let your email list know you uploaded a new video. It's likely that your email subscribers aren't also your YouTube subscribers, and if they are, they might have their YouTube notifications turned off so they would never even know you posted a new video. Now, you can't send video directly through email email. So what I suggest doing is to take that thumbnail that I told you to create in tip number one and put it in that email as a clickable link over to your YouTube video. That way this gets your email subscribers over to watch your video and it lets them know you have a YouTube channel if they didn't know if you want four more tips on how to get more views on your videos, make sure you head on over to my blog right up here. I listed them over there. And if you're ready to start creating video content for your business, be sure to check the description box below.
