Trena Little walks through five ways to drive organic traffic from YouTube to your website: cards, annotations, description links in the first two lines, end slates, and email sequences. Match your opt-ins to what you're teaching, and always include a clear call to action.
Having video content on YouTube for your business is a great way to start chipping away at that know like and trust factor that's so important for your audience to have before they're going to spend any money on you, your services or your product. But if they're watching you on YouTube, how are you going to get them to your website? Today I'm going to give you five ways you can use YouTube to drive more organic traffic to your website. Hey guys, welcome back to another episode of Just the Tips with Trena where I provide online entrepreneurs tips and tricks on how to create a video content strategy that works works for them and their business. Remember, if you aren't subscribed to my channel yet, just go ahead and click that red subscribe button down below so you know when I upload new content just for you, like I said, today I'm going to go through five ways that you can drive traffic from your YouTube channel over to your website so they can check out your shop or your services page. We all know how important it is to have a call to action. We have to let people know specifically what it is we want them to do, how they can do it, and why they need to do it. So every single one of your videos should have a call to action. If you watch my videos, you know, I typically have an opt in like a script template or a checklist to set up your YouTube channel. But you need to realize all of your opt ins need to relate to your content. It needs to be that next step for that content. So they've taken in the video content which was free, and now they need that extra piece of content that's going to be your opt in that's going to take them to the next level. So all of your call to action should be very specific to the content that you're sharing in your video. This basically needs to be something that the viewer can live without after watching your video. So then here are the five ways that you can get your viewer over to your website. And the first one is the cards feature. If you watch my videos, I always tell you that you can click up here and I think it's this corner. Sometimes I get confused if it's this one, but it's right up here is a cards feature. And what's great about the cards feature is people can click on that whether it's on desktop or mobile, which is important because so many people are now watching YouTube videos on mobile. And by clicking on that card they can be directed to your associated website. So your Associated website is the website that you linked to your YouTube channel. So you can instantly send people over to your website to sign up for your opt in. Or you could even send them directly to your sales page or your work with me page. The second way that you can drive traffic is with annotations. I'm going to put an annotation here and this is basically the first round of cards. This is kind of before cards came out was the annotation. With annotations you can change the color, the font, the size and really have it stand out. That says like click here to work with me or click here to download my checklist. And that's another way that you can draw people into your email list or over to your website. The third way is having that link in your description box. If you watch my videos again, I will tell you that you can always grab my free checklist or template in the description box below. But what you need to remember is you need to have the full website link, so HTTP whatever. You need to have that entire address there for it to be clickable. And you also want it to be in the first two lines of your description box because most people do not click the click to see more in YouTube video. So you want to make sure that it's in the first two lines of your description box so that people can see it, click it and get on over to your website to learn more. The fourth way is end slate and this is a relatively new option in YouTube is these end slate templates. What's great about that is you can easily pop in a link to your website and have a call to action that says learn more or go here and it can be a picture of you and it can take them directly to your website just by clicking on it. It also can allow you to show a previous video of yours that they can click on and watch. Or to subscribe to your channel. You can have a little icon that just easily subscribes them to your channel. But if you really want to drive traffic to your website, make sure you utilize the box that that sends people to your website. And finally, number five is your opt in. So once they do sign up to get whatever free opt in you're giving them, create a quick little two to three email sequence in your email provider to let them know who you are, what you do, why you're professional and how you can help them. Go ahead and direct them to your website in these emails to tell them to learn more about you or send them to your social media platform. If you're more active on your social media platform and these emails are just a great way for you to get into their email inbox and for them to start to learn more about you and to start building that relationship with you. Those are five ways you can easily drive YouTube traffic to your website. I want to know which one do you think you're going to do in your next video? Let me know in the comments below.
