How To Get Your First 1000 Subscribers Posting Once A Week

Trena Little walks through how a client hit 1,000 YouTube subscribers in under six months posting just one video a week. The strategy hinged on consistent uploads, smart content choices, and affiliate marketing to monetize early.
If you are trying to grow a YouTube channel, you know how difficult it can be. There's constant ups and downs and thinking, am I even doing this right? Is it even worth my time? So today I want to show you the actual journey one of my clients went through and how we got her to 1,000 subscribers in under six months. How she had the most profitable launch yet, and how she did it all by just posting one video a week. Hi, my name is Trena, and on this channel I help creative entrepreneurs just like you get on YouTube to grow your business. In this video, I'm doing a bit of a case study so you can see what I did with a client to get her to reach 1,000 subscribers. She's a copywriter. This isn't my channel. This isn't how I grew my channel. This is specific to her, how she got 1,000 subscribers, had the most profitable launch yet, and kept her consistent with just one video a week. Because I know so many of you get concerned, how many do I need to post? How consistent do I gotta be? So I always just ask you. One video a week. Here's how she did it. The very first thing that we did when we started working together is I asked her, what are her goals? What do you want your YouTube channel to accomplish? Because your business might have different goals, you personally might have different goals, and your YouTube channel might have different goals. So what do you want your YouTube channel to do for your business or your personal life? What do you want that channel to do for you? What do you want? It's not that simple. What do you want that is really going to figure out how you craft your strategy and what you're going to be doing on your YouTube channel so you can reach the goals you want. So Ashlynn's goal was really to just get in front of more people, build that know like and trust factor, and start creating some passive income on affiliate links that she has. So, so we really focused on the Powersheets Goal Planner. We also focus on Simplified Planner, HoneyBook, and also LeaderBox, which are all programs she's affiliates of. We focus on some videos that show how she uses these, what she thinks of them, reviews to start generating traffic to these videos to get people to sign up or buy from her affiliate link. These have been successful for her. She has income coming in from HoneyBook affiliates, and as Powersheets and Simplified Planners start to come out at the end of the year, she can really capitalize on the traffic she's currently getting on those videos to make some affiliate Money. She also has a shop on her website. We focus on creating some videos around how things in her shop work. She walks through trello boards and her different templates for copywriting so that people can see how they work. So they head over to her shop to buy them because they were so excited on how they worked in her video that now they had to have it for themselves. And, and as you see, all of these videos and types of videos all come back to her goal. Her goal was to create some more money passively through her YouTube videos. She's also a very busy person, and so she committed to posting just once a week, and she stuck with it. There may have been one or two weeks that we missed out on, but within the past, we've been working together now for over eight months. She's just about consistently hit one video a week. She's not throwing out lots of content like me, where I'm putting out three to five videos a week. It's just one very strategic video every week. And that clearly can show you the power that being consistent with just one video can do for your business. We also kept track of the keywords that were driving her a lot of traffic. People were searching these keywords. They were finding her videos, watching them. So it was important for us to create more content so that those people could watch more videos, accumulate more watch time, and get her videos Suggested more by YouTube. So some of those keywords were Powersheets, Simplified Planner, and again HoneyBook, which was great because she's an affiliate of them. So we really focused on doing a monthly powersheets update that her and I do together. I also focused on getting her to create videos on how she plans in her Simplified Planner and also how she sets up workflows and uses HoneyBook so she can really use the power that traffic is bringing to her to capitalize on her videos. So then it was on to editing. And I did the editing for her. And what we focused on was keeping the editing very simple. I am not a video editor. I kind of do it as fun. So that's why I took on her editing because it's something fun that I like to do. So what I did is I created a template the very first time I edited her video. So I had a template for the background when I had call out text. I also created the call out text, added her font, and the sizing. So all I had to do was copy that and move it to the the next video for every single video. It really only took a lot of effort that first video, and it was just copy and paste for the rest of the videos. Another way that I like to add some more pizzazz and engagement in her videos was finding gifs that really reflected her and her brand. So I would add some gifts in to just make the video more exciting and to keep people watching. Now, I want you to know this was no easy process for her. There were ups and downs. There were days where she shot a video and it was totally blurry. And there were days where she shot a video and forgot to turn on the mic. There were days where she thought the camera was on and it wasn't. And I want you to know that's okay. What made her different, what made her YouTube channel successful, is she kept going. She kept picking herself up, dusting herself back off, and filming again and again and again. And what happened was, while she wasn't comfortable back in December, and she was scared out of her pants to do this video, she's now at a point, nine months later, that she is excited to do video. She's excited to see which videos I recommend her. She's excited to shoot them. Her setup has become so much better, and that's because she keeps doing it over and over. She learns from her mistakes, she tweaks them, and she gets better. And her videos are definitely a reflection of that. If you want to have a journey similar to Ashlynn's, I'm currently opening my program, YouTube Bootcamp. It's only open for a few more days. You can head on over to Trina Little Bootcamp to sign up.
