Are you having a hard time to get more email subscribers on your list? There might just be one platform that you haven't even thought about using yet. I'm going to tell you that platform in today's video and share why you've got to be using this platform. Coming up. Hi, my name is Trena and Welcome to my YouTube channel, tips with Trena. Here on my channel, I help creative business owners like you learn how to use YouTube to grow your business. And in today's video, we're going to talk about how to grow email subscribers through YouTube. So let's just get into why you should be using YouTube to grow your email list. YouTube is the second largest search engine in the world, and it's only right behind Google, which Google owns YouTube. What makes this partnership amazing is that you can have your YouTube videos show up in Google search. And as of right now, Google favors video content over text content. What that means is your YouTube videos are more likely to show up on a front page Google search result than a blog post. So I hear a lot of times people say, well, my audience isn't on YouTube. Well, is your audience on Google? Probably. Okay, so now that I've debunked the myth that your audience isn't on YouTube, let's talk about how you can use these videos to start getting people on your email list. What's really important to understand here is YouTube likes people staying on the platform. YouTube rewards videos that will keep people watching more YouTube videos. Unfortunately, every single video you have, you can't be sending them off to a landing page or off to your website to get them to sign up for your email newsletter. Well, Trina, how do I get them to sign up then? The best way you want to start thinking about this is think about a series of videos you can create. If you check out my page here on YouTube, I've got multiple series of videos that that lead up to a capstone video. In that capstone video, I have an opt in that people can go get more information on whether that's a checklist or a template. So I have four or five videos that kept people on the platform that kept people watching. And then on that last video is when I send people off of that platform. YouTube's recent monetization changes make it a little bit harder for you to put a link to your website in a little card up above on your video. So you'll just need to tell people in your video in a call to action to click the link in the description box. As long as you tell people to go down in the description box and you leave that link above the show more guy under this video. That's how you can start pushing people to your landing page or to your website. By thinking in a series of videos and creating playlists, you're building your authority with that viewer. You're building your know like and trust factor. You're not asking for their email right off the bat. It'd be like asking for someone's phone number, like as soon as you meet them. So as you build this content and they start to get to know you and like you and trust you, by the end of that series, they're going to be ready to hand over their email to you because they appreciated all the free content you gave them leading up to the ask. Now, I want to give you a few of my best tips to ensure people actually watch those videos. The first thing is you've got to be consistent. Post at least one video every single week on YouTube and if possible, post two to three videos every single week. YouTube loves channels that keep bringing people back for more. So the more consistent you can be, the better YouTube is going to see your channel and promote it more. Second, watch other YouTube videos. See what other people are doing. They don't have to be in your niche. They could be something completely different like a comedy sketch channel or a cooking channel. But see what they're doing that you like and you could potentially implement on your channel as well. The third thing is super, super important. You've got to create a custom thumbnail for every single video. Now, a custom thumbnail is that little image that you see when you search for videos on YouTub YouTube. And this is your primary marketing material. It doesn't matter how great your content is if it's professionally shot and it's the best content in the world. If that thumbnail doesn't entice people to click, they're never going to see it. The fourth tip I have for you is optimize your video. So find a keyword that you want to rank for, use it in your title, use it in your description box, and also use it in your tags. There are some more optimization tips that I have here on my channel that I can send you to if you're curious what does YouTube optimization mean and how to do it. But those are the three primary places you need to be focusing on when optimizing is your video title, your description box, and your tags. The final tip that I have for you is you've got to promote your videos. You can't just put a video on YouTube and expect people to come watch it. If you build it, they will not always come. So share it with the email list you already have. Share it with your Facebook group. Share it with your Instagram followers. You've got to get the word out that you have this channel and you have these videos to get people watching to get traction on your YouTube channel. Now, if you want to grab my YouTube channel checklist to make sure you have your channel set up properly, I've got a link down in the description box that you can grab.
