Whether you are just getting started on YouTube or you have a small channel that you would like to get more views and subscribers on, stick around, because in this video I'm going to give you the best tips for small YouTube channels to grow faster. Hi, my name is Trena and on this channel I help creative entrepreneurs like you get on YouTube to grow your business. Because I use my YouTube channel as basically my 247 sales team working for me while I help my clients clients build YouTube channels or spend time with my family. A quick disclaimer before we jump into the content here. I want you to understand that you don't need a huge YouTube channel to make a lot of money or to grow a business. Here on my channel, I serve a very niche population, creative entrepreneurs who want to be on YouTube to grow their business, right? So my channel has under 10,000 subscribers and I don't expect it to grow huge. I'm just looking to get in front of the right people who want to work with me, who want to buy things from me. So if you are a business owner and you want to use YouTube as an asset to help you grow your revenue in your business, that's basically what this video is here for. The first thing you want to do if you want to start growing your channel to grow your business is to get consistent. All I ask is you post one video a week. I know we can get really excited when we start a new project and you think, I'm going to post three times a week or I'm going to post every day. Hold that back just a little bit. Make sure maybe you film all those videos and start releasing one at a time. So when life catches up, which inevitably it does, you'll have a few videos in your back pocket to post to stay consistent instead of just throwing them all up there right away, one after another. Because we can tend to lose that motivation in some point in time. I know it happens for me. So create those videos, but post one a week until you find the time and the workflow that you can actually consist of consistently post three to four videos a week. The key here is consistency. The next thing you want to do if you want to grow your YouTube channel, is to professionalize it. Now I suggest you focus on your channel banner, making sure that looks professional, because that's basically the first impression people are going to get when they come to your channel. You'll want to have a photo of yourself, you know, your business name, your value proposition. What value are you going to bring to people here on your channel. Now this might entail hiring a graphic designer to make it look professional. You might also ask that graphic designer to create you some thumbnail templates so that your thumbnails look professional as well. I'm going to tell you right now, thumbnails make a world of difference in how fast you grow your channel. For me, I changed my thumbnails with a graphic Designer and within six weeks I thought I saw a 300% increase in click through rates. So when it comes to professionalizing your thumbnails, it's pretty important. The next thing to do is focus on your content here. Quality over quantity is really important. YouTube values videos that keep people watching, accumulating those watch time minutes. So if you can only create one good video a week that keeps people watching, just focus on doing that. I'm going to tell you once you can consistently hit that about 50% audience retention at the end of your video, you can start to see an uptick in traffic because you, you have proven to YouTube that you have good content and you're keeping people watching for most of your video. So they're going to start suggesting it more and you're going to see more views and subscribers. The next thing to do is to collaborate. This is a huge one. We don't think about a lot as business owners here on YouTube. So reach out to somebody to collaborate with and don't be afraid to. I reached out to a YouTube channel that I admire and who I get a lot of inspiration from. Michelle from Channelnotes. She had over 50,000 subscribers and I'm here just under 5,000. And she was willing and excited to do a collaboration with me. When I did that collaboration with her, I gained over 400 subscribers in just a few days. So reach out to somebody. Think about the collaborations you can do. This is really going to help you see your YouTube channel grow. One way to find a great collaborator on YouTube is to look at your suggested videos and your traffic sources. This is going to tell you the videos that are currently bringing you traffic. So they would be a good start for collaborations. The next thing for small YouTubers who are wanting to grow their channel faster is to have your mindset prepared. YouTube is a long term game. You're not going to see instant success, you're not going to see instant subscribers. So you got to be in it for the long haul. You got to have your mind prepared for, for constant ebbs and flows. Even me, who's been on YouTube for two years, sees this constant ebbs and flows. I can tell you in April, I was wondering what the heck am I doing? My YouTube channel was growing like a few subscribers a month after growing significantly at the beginning of the year. And I thought, why am I doing this? What am I doing? And then I remembered this is a long term game. There are going to be ebbs and flows. We're all going to struggle with with a spike in growth and then a dip in growth. Just remember to keep going and this happens with everyone. You aren't the only one suffering with this constant increase and decrease in subscribers. Trust me. Now if you're ready for some more tips on how to make your YouTube channel better so you can grow it faster, click that playlist that is on your screen right now and don't forget to subscribe. I've got a lot of content coming out in the next couple of weeks, so click subscribe so you're notified when I post new videos just for you. Then thank you so much for watching and I'll see you in the next video. Bye.
