Everyone comes to me asking Trina, how do I get more views and subscribers? Everybody wants the secret. Most of you are thinking you're doing everything right, so you're just wondering, what is it that you're doing wrong? Let's jump into what you can do to get more views and subscribers. First things first, you need to stop comparing yourself to other channels out there. Even if those channels are creating similar content as you speaking to the same people, creating the same videos. But you don't know what's really going on behind the scenes. When you compare your channel to somebody else's channel, even if it's in your niche and they're creating the same kind of content, it's not comparing apples to apples. You need to put your blinders on, stop the comparison game and focus on what it is you do well. In fact, a great idea would to look outside your niche and look at some other channels and see what they're doing that you like and try to incorporate a different style into your channel. Especially if you don't think your channel is growing as fast as it could. Rejuvenating those video styles could definitely help you get more views and subscribers. Okay, now let's talk about some few things you can do right now to help the videos that you have get more views on them. You've got to update your thumbnails and your titles. You can actually determine if your thumbnails and titles are working for you in YouTube Analytics. You can look at your click through rate. You can see are your thumbnails getting better for every single video or are you basically just seeing a 2% click through rate across the board? What I want you to focus on is trying to get that click through rate higher and higher. That means your thumbnails and your titles are enticing more and more people to click on your videos which will get you more views and potentially as they watch more of your content, more subscribers. That's the first place I need you to go. I need you to go into your analytics and and look at your video. Each video's click through rate then I want you to start updating your thumbnails. Is there a way you can make your thumbnails better? Could you potentially outsource this? Could you use a program like PicMonkey or Canva to make your thumbnails better? I've got a couple videos on thumbnails that I'll link below for you to check out. What are the best practices for thumbnails? This is a great first place to start. If you want to start getting more views on your videos and then in regards to your title, you've got to stop keyword stuffing. I said this in a recent video, I think last week, but you need to create enticing titles that make humans want to click, not robots. Robots aren't the views you're going to get. So stop trying to shove all these keywords in and make that title like a newspaper headline or a magazine headline so we actually want to click on it and sound enticed to watch the video. For example, one would be Best photographer Tips for beginners. That's pretty keyword stuff, and if I'm seeing that along with 25 other videos, it's not really going to stand out to me. But if you said something like seven easy photography tips to make your photos look better, that sounds more intriguing to me than photography tips for beginners. See what I'm saying? The next thing you're going to need to do is create popular videos. But what are popular videos? The name of the game for popular videos is really just so you can start showing up in suggested videos of other creators videos. When you show up in suggested videos, these videos are actually more valuable to you than showing up in search, because most times you're going to get double the amount of watch time from somebody who finds you in suggested than somebody who finds you from search. So let's say somebody finds you in Suggested. They're more likely to watch four minutes of a video where somebody who finds you in search is more likely to watch two minutes of your videos. You'll see why suggested videos are so important. So what I want you to do is go to search somebody who's also creating videos in your niche, who's a leader in your industry. So for me, that would be Nick Nimmins, Sunny Lenarduzzi, Tim Schmoyer of Video Creators. Then I'm going to go to their video tabs and I'm going to rank them by most popular. Those are the video titles and ideas that I want to start creating to show up in their suggested videos. These videos are Doing well if people are still watching them. These are the videos I want to start creating to the to get more eyes on my content, to help me get more views and subscribers. This is what's going to help you show up in suggested videos. Now the next step is if you already have some popular videos of your own, follow up on them. For me, YouTube video ideas, a video that I did almost two years ago was doing really good for me and a lot of the keyword traffic that was coming to my channel was video ideas, YouTube video ideas. So I constantly keep making a new video and every couple weeks on video Ideas because I'm going to show up in my own suggested videos with that one video that's already doing really well. And they're potentially going to get to newer content that will get them to subscribe plus get more views on that newer content. So take a look at your analytics and see what videos are getting the most traffic on your channel and what keywords are. Then I want you to create a couple videos around that topic. Next is creating playlists. Obviously, if you can start creating bingeable content, kind of like Netflix, where people will watch one after another after another, that's going to get you view after view after view. So whether you have some good videos already that you can put into a playlist and start promoting that playlist in cards or in your description box or in your end screen, or you create a brand new series of say five to six videos that you then put into a playlist. This is going to get you more views and, and potentially YouTube suggesting more of your content because you're showing YouTube that you can get people to watch video after video after video with just the strategic playlist. Another thing a lot of people aren't using are the cards. So that little card that pops up right now, I'm going to suggest a video to you and that's a way to get somebody over to another video. What you could do is after you post a video, you go look at your analytics, your audience retention, and see if there's a huge dip somewhere in your video where you could place a card or, or recommend another video. So instead of them dropping off and leaving your video, you just move them to a new video of yours, which means more views. Now along with the cards and sending people to another video, you can also put links to videos down in the description box. So if people go look down there, say they're really liking your content and they want to watch more of your content, they're looking in your description box, you want to highlight your best playlist or your best videos down in your description box. And if you add these links in your description box defaults, they'll be in there every single time you upload a video. So it's really no extra time for you, but it could mean more views for your channel. And here's one thing so many people tend to forget, but it's the end screen. So it's a little thing that pops up the last 20 seconds of your video. You can tell people at the end of your video to click that end screen to watch another video or to subscribe. So it looks something like this. If you want to continue to learn how to do YouTube better, make sure you click the video that's on your screen right now. And don't forget to subscribe for new videos every Monday and Wednesday to help you do YouTube better. See you in the next video. Bye.
