I Risked Everything: Business Transformation Through a Risky Move

This is a YouTube video titled "I Risked Everything: Business Transformation Through a Risky Move" created in March 2024. The content is a solo presentation by a business owner sharing insights about simplifying their business model by focusing on a single higher-ticket coaching offer instead of multiple products and funnels. The speaker discusses their journey, challenges with value ladders, and the benefits of this strategic shift for their business and personal well-being. There are no multiple speakers or conversational elements present.
This is another transparency series video and this is actually the last one that we have scheduled. So if you've been enjoying these, make sure you let me know in the comments. Share with any of your friends so that I can see that these are actually being enjoyed and to keep doing them. And if you have topics that you want me to talk about, put them in the comments because I'm going to talk about value ladders or product suites or low ticket versus high ticket or courses, signature courses in this video because I decided to do something completely different here in 2024. I don't think it's always clear that you can decide to do whatever the heck you want to do in your business. So when I started this online business space, started in this space, there was a lot about a signature course, having a signature course. And so that's what I did. I made a signature course. Well, then there was also talk about having a signature service and offering a service. So I did that too. And then the more and more got into the space, we heard about value ladders or product suites and how to get people to ascend up your value ladder and extend the lifetime value of your customer. And it all became a lot. And what I found myself doing is I was constantly working on the next thing, the next thing, the next thing, and getting exhausted, right. What has been taught, and I'm not saying it's the wrong way to teach, I'm saying you need to know there are other options out there and you can pick. What works for you is having a small ticket offer that is like the lowest offer on your value ladder. The idea is you get people in, get a taste of what it's like to work with you, get a feeling of, you know, your vibes, and then want to buy the next thing, which is a signature course. We'll say, and maybe that's a couple hundred dollars. So again, they learn from you, they really like what it is, they get the vibes and then they want more of you. And so then we're looking at like a mastermind or a coaching opportunity, right? Which I think is fine. The problem is for a solo entrepreneur or if you have an assistant, like smaller businesses making under a million dollars, you are not going to be able to fill out that value ladder in the first year of your business. If you're going to do it right, it's going to take you some time to get a good low ticket offer, get a good course and create enough visibility and credibility to get to that coaching program. And when you are starting out. When you do the small ticket offer first, if it's $47 and you need to make $5,000 a month, you've got to sell that thing over a hundred times. Maybe that doesn't seem like a lot, but when you think about conversion rates are on average 5%. That means you need to have at least 2,127 people to the page of your low ticket offer, your $47 offer to make that $5,000. That's what's not talked about. And so instead of a low ticket offer, what's the best option? You could do a course. Absolutely. But what I think you need to do is have something higher ticket. Now don't worry when I say high ticket, what I'm saying is you need to work with clients somehow, one on one. And I wish a thousand times I could go back and do this over. You need to work one on one with people to see what their pain point is. What you aren't explaining clearly how they are getting the best results and more importantly getting testimonials from these people because testimonials will make or break the sale of whatever it is you're selling. So for me in 2023, I had a low ticket offer, Going Video. The goal for going Video was to get people to Video Strategy Academy, which was my course. The goal for Video Strategy Academy was to get people to my coaching program at the time, 10k on replay, all hunky dory, right? Only it didn't work. I was getting people into going Video, but we weren't getting people to upgrade. I was getting people into Video Strategy Academy but I wasn't getting people to upgrade. And now I had to manage these three funnels in addition to. If you watched my other video on why I brought my agency down, having to manage my agency as well, business became way too complicated. My audience had no clue. What am I focused on? You're talking about your Video Strategy Academy course. You're talking about your agency. You're talking about coaching. What? What are you talking about? And I also wasn't sure. What am I sharing? What am I promoting? Am I constantly promoting? And so I decided after talking to an amazing friend and mentor mine, Katie White, I'm going to offer one offer this year, that is it. Agency's burnt down. I have retired my course. I don't have a low ticket course either. The only thing I'm offering is my live profit per view workshop which is basically my YouTube strategy 101. And in that workshop I tell you how I Build strategies. I give you the entire framework on how to do it. But if you want me to help you do it, give you feedback, have me analyze your YouTube channel. In addition to making sure your funnels are converting the traffic you're getting from YouTube, I now have my coaching program. So my coaching program has combined both YouTube strategy and business strategy. And that is where I'm spending the majority of my time. That is who I'm helping every single day. That is who I'm hosting calls with. And this, this simplifies my business like you wouldn't imagine. I now know I only need 70 clients and I have the goal of revenue that I need to keep my team on board. And for me to take Fridays off, take an afternoon off if I want to. I now know what I'm promoting, what I'm talking about, what I'm getting people to. The goal of my social media, when I have a call to action, is hey, join profit purview. Join my next profit purview. Right? I can talk about my clients wins because I can talk about how they took profit per view and then I worked with them one on one and here's what they were able to accomplish. And knowing that I only have one thing to talk about, one thing to promote, and also maintenance. One thing. Do we even want to talk about the maintenance of having multiple products, let alone maintenance the funnel and the email sequence. So if you are struggling trying to figure out like what should be your offer, should I do low ticket, high ticket, course, your business, your rules, but I will tell you your higher ticket offer and I'm not even saying it needs to be $20,000. My coaching program is less than $5,000 and that is helping me feed my business with less clients and has simplified everything that I'm doing in my business, has helped not only my mental health because the amount of stress that I've relieved doing this, but also my physical health because again, I'm not so stressed and I don't have so much cortisone pumping through my body and I actually have time to take care of myself walking and exercising and reading again. In fact, I talk more about that in the video where I did, where I talk about my new health habits that I do. So if you've got any questions about next steps for your business, please let me know in the comments. I'd love to have this conversation with you. Just know that other people are struggling with this too. Other people are out there, their offers aren't working like they used to. They're trying to pivot and readjust based on where we're at in the market right now. So do not feel alone. If your course isn't selling like it used to, or your low ticket, or your digital products aren't selling like they used to, there may be a need for an adjustment there, and that is okay. This is your permission to simplify your business, to simplify your life. I hope this transparency series was helpful for you. Again, we are going to decide after we wrap this series up of these three videos if it's something that we continue doing. So please let me know. Share it with somebody that you know that needs this video right now. And if we see the want for it, I will continue publishing these transparency videos for you. Check out the last two right here.
