Launching a Group Program | Behind The Scenes

Trena Little walks through her group program launch, sharing sign-up numbers, webinar attendance, sales tiers, and ad spend. She breaks down what worked, what didn't, and what she'd do differently next time.
Have you been wondering how my launch actually went? I know I promised you a follow up video from my launch day vlog. So today we're talking about launch, post mortem, or review or number check, whatever you want to call it. Hi, my name is Trena and I am a YouTube strategist. And I started this channel to help creative entrepreneurs like you get started on YouTube to grow your business. If you're new here and you haven't watched any of my videos before or you haven't subscribed yet, make sure you go ahead and click that red subscribe button down below and hit the little bell guy so that you're notified every time I upload a new video to help you. Now, a couple weeks ago, I brought you along for my launch day vlog and it was rough. We were sick and things went wrong and so I decided to do this as vlog style too. I'm running out of time here this week. I'm gonna be posting this tomorrow. So this is actually Thursday of this week. I'm just gonna run out of time. If you follow me on Instagram, if you're not yet, it's trinalittle, you'll know that I recently just wrapped up filming 15 videos. So I'm done with video content until the middle of May. So my vlog here kind of got pushed to the side. Let's just jump right into some numbers, right? That's what you want to know. So. So first numbers to look at is how many people I got to sign up for my challenge. So I hosted a challenge that led into my webinar. With the challenge, I had 252 people sign up. And I want to tell you that that specific challenge was the most engaging and the most supportive and the most amazing challenge I have ever hosted. I'm not sure if I got lucky with the amazing girls doing it or something with the moon and the sun was a line, right? Or something. But that group was honestly the most amazing group that I've ever hosted a challenge with. So what happened then is at the end of that challenge, I pitched them YouTube bootcamp at the 2017 price. So for them following along in the challenge, they got a discounted price and I had that available for them for about two days. I think it was 48 hours and I don't have those numbers. I think I had three people sign up. And y', all, I'm being totally real with numbers here. I am not going to lie. I'm not going to sugarcoat them. I'm telling you the real numbers. And there's more people out there like me that you just don't know. They seem like they have a bigger launch than what they normally do. So I'm gonna be real with you. Also, I wanted to share with you. I wiped my list right before I went into launch mode. I got rid of over 1000 email subscribers right before launch. And so I started my launch at about 2,500 email subscribers, I think because if someone hadn't opened my email in the last six months, haven't clicked on anything, gone. I really want quality subscribers. So I just said, see you later, sayonara, better luck next time. And then for the webinars, I did three. I did two in the afternoon and one in the evening. And with that I had 200, no, 303 people sign up for that. What I found out is the evening one was totally no good. I think that was in the vlog. Nobody signed up. What I want to do next time is do a morning one, like a 10am one potentially. But nobody really bought. I had two people buy on a webinar. So I'm looking through my webinar to see what I can do better, getting a couple of different eyes at it to see what I was missing. But my webinar wasn't really my big sell. I ended up selling most of my course to challenge people and referrals. Let's break down some numbers. I broke this out into just the course where you get just the course. I also had the most popular tier, which was the course and the group program. So monthly group calls with me and the Facebook group and accountability. And then I had a done for you service where you get everything I just mentioned plus a call with me and a customized growth plan and video ideas from me. So I had three different tiers. I had seven, five. No, I had eight people sign up for just the course. I had seven sign up for the VIP group program and I had one person sign up for the done for you program. So that was a total of three 16 sales and a total of my first five figure launch. So it was a total of 10, around $10,500 that I made on that launch. Now that's not including expenses. We paid around $5,000 on ads. And I did ads on the challenge, the webinar and then cart closing. As far as my goals that I set, they were a little bit higher than what I initially wanted. You know what, I never tracked my numbers before. And so this was kind of like a launching ground or like A foundation for us. I had my friend Janet work with me through this launch. And so this is kind of like our step one, mapping everything out, getting numbers and this being like our foundation as we launch again. Other numbers I'm trying to think about. Most people sign up with the fast action. Well, actually it was 50, 50 sign up with the fast action. And so here are my lessons for you to learn. Launching is a roller coaster. You have these big goals and you think you're going to do it and then the first day is really fun and you're on a high and you get a lot of people to sign up. And then crickets. And you think, holy crap, what did I do? Like, this is crazy. Nobody wants to buy from me. I suck. I'm a total failure. Then someone buys and you get excited and then there's crickets again. And you're like, oh, my God, this is terrible. So my best advice for you is if you're going into a launch, be as prepared as possible. Get as much done as possible. For my next launch, I was actually going to launch every quarter this year. I decided I'm not doing that. I cannot put that on myself, on my family. It's just not happening. So I'm going to launch. I launched in Q1, I'm going to launch in Q3 and in Q4, and I'm going to take Q2, quarter two. That's the time to really develop and perfect our format for a launch. So we get together, Jan and I get together every single week to figure out, okay, what needs to be done for our next launch. We're starting now and this Launch isn't until Q3, so we want to get Facebook ads out as soon as possible. Just like $10 a week on Facebook ads to get people to an opt in and get them into my funnel so I can start warming them up. So I'm trying to get a new opt in in the next week or two, going on Facebook ads to start building that warm audience. And then about eight weeks out, we are going to start pushing Facebook lives. And I forget you guys, we sat down yesterday and literally I'm pulling out a tablet, dates of everything that I need. And so eight weeks out, we're gonna start doing some more ads, going live a times a week and blog posts, writing an epic blog post. And so I'm really excited to share this journey with you guys because you'll know. I get so many comments from you asking me how I do it. And there's no secret to it. It's just try, try, try again, fail often, fail fast and get better. I would not be to the point where I'm at now if I didn't just do it. Just get out there, Just launch however you want to launch, what worked, what didn't, if it failed, fantastic. You know what you don't do the next time and you get better the next time, right? And so I'm learning a lot. The the hardest part for me isn't the ads, isn't the live, isn't the webinars. It's honestly the email sequence for me. So if it's possible, if you can hire out to a copywriter, that's good. But that's been the hardest part for me is emails. You know, I don't care. I'm live all the time. And so that's not the hardest part for me. So that's my biggest advice. If you want to launch, launch, launch often, as many times as you humanly can. Like, don't stress yourself out. Like I'm not launching in Q2, it's just not happening. But I want to hear from you. What questions about launching do you have? Or what videos on launching would you like to hear from me? Because I'm taking suggestions and I would love to do another series on launching revolving around what you want to see. So let me know down in the comments below. And if this is your first time watching me, make sure you introduce yourself down there. Click subscribe and also watch the playlist that I have suggested for you right now on the screen. Thank you so much for watching and I'll see you in the next video. Bye.
