Creating content is the name of the game for any online business owner in 2020. But content creation is so freaking time consuming and trying to be on every single social platform that pops up is exhausting and overwhelming. I'm a mom of a three and a five year old. I have students that I'm teaching. I have clients that I'm working for. Oh yeah, I also have a husband and myself to take care of. So you may have noticed that I've been showing up on every single platform out there like LinkedIn, Instagram, Instagram TV and I'm still working my normal eight to four hours and not working Friday through Sunday. So how am I pumping out more content, showing up in more places and not working any more time? Hit that like button if you want to hear my five secret content creation hacks. Hey there, welcome back. My name is Trena. If you are new here and this channel is a place for business owners, entrepreneurs and content creators who are who want to grow their business organically through online video. And that is exactly how I'm pumping out the amount of content that I am. So hack number one is to always have a list of content ideas. Now I'm not gonna go into super detail on how to find all these ideas. I've done plenty of videos. I will link to them right up here and down in the description box. But always have content ideas in like a brain dump board. We use Asana. I have an entire list. Anytime I have an idea I will pop it in Asana so I can keep track because I not going to remember a video that popped into my head in the shower two Wednesdays ago. So keep track of all of your ideas. My second hack is templates, Templates, templates. The first kind of template is workflow templates. So we use workflow templates all the time. In my business we have a video template. So every time I publish a YouTube video, there is a list of 20 some steps that we go through to get that video out. That way I'm never missing a step. My assistant is assistant isn't missing a step. And we use this exact template for all of our agency clients as well. So they know exactly what they're responsible for, we know exactly when they get it done and then we know what we need to do to get it out on time without missing a step. So having a workflow process and a workflow template in place is game changing. The other type of templates that are critical in our business is graphic templates. Now my amazing designer Ilia recently created all These templates for us, she made them in Illustrator, I believe, but she converted them to Canva for us so they're easy for us to replicate for every single video. So we have a template for Pinterest, we have a template for Instagram stories, we have a template for Facebook, we have a template for LinkedIn. That way we can take this YouTube video up and start plopping it on all of these templated graphics that we have. They're all branded to our graphics. So when people see our content on social media, the inst hack is repurposing. Repurposing is so much easier when you go back to hack number two and create these templates. Like I said, I take this YouTube video, I do a Facebook ending, I do an Instagram up here and down in the description box so you can see exactly how we go from one YouTube video to ten other pieces of content. Hack number four is to batch. Now, before I get into detail about this one, I don't want you to think that batching is a need to be successful on YouTube. I've had a couple students of mine tell me, trina, I just don't have the energy to batch. Like, that doesn't work for me. And that's fine. Batching does not need to work for you. But what I'm talking about is having some type of process. And so, for example, my batching style is I will sit down and script all my videos in one chunk. My brain is in scripting mode, so I'm going to write more than one script at a time. Then I will batch record videos. Now, we did something really crazy in July this month where we put out 21 videos in 21 days. So I was literally batching about seven videos in one sitting. I do not recommend it, but if you can, that's great because you can get all of that off of your plate. What I tend to do is film about four videos at a time. That gives me all my content for an entire month. Then all we have to do is edit that video and repurpose that sucker like crazy. So it seems like I'm everywhere where I just really spent one day filming content. I also batch Instagram stories. Yeah. So I will have a list of topics for the week. And sometimes when I get ahead and the kids aren't here and it's quiet, I will batch a couple Instagram stories in a row. So I will batch, like, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. And it makes it so much easier because sometimes it's too loud here, sometimes my husband's working in this room. So it gives me the time to batch the content I want when it's quiet. And I have that extra time to add captions, add tech, you know, gridify my Instagram stories, so to speak. So there are a lot of different things that you can batch to really get more done. The other hack that I have is to outsource. And before you say, Trina, I don't have any money to outsource. Trust me, I did not think so either. But if you go through these other hacks and you create the templates for your workflow and the templates for your social media graphics, it doesn't take much, just a couple hundred dollars a month to have somebody to have a virtual assistant pump out all this content for you. And if you think about it, if you're able to outsource and get that off your plate, how much more content would you get out into the world? Get more eyes on it to get more people into your business. So you want to think about that like what is the investment I'm putting into hiring somebody and what am I going to get out of it? I knew for me, I couldn't stay consistent with my YouTube content unless I had an editor. That's one of the first places that I outsourced because I needed to stay consist here on YouTube, because my YouTube videos were driving a stream of leads into my email list. People who wanted to work with me, people who wanted to buy my program, you need to think about, it's not just paying a person like an expense. You want to think about the return on your investment. If that person can get you on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, every single week, how many eyes are you going to get on your content that's going to drive more people to your business? If you want to see what a batch day looks like for me, like a complete behind the scenes, vlog style video, I will put that video on your screen right now. You can see exactly what I do, what makeup I use, and all the little secrets to batching. So click that video and I will see you over there.
